The NFL trade deadline has increased in production over the years. In 2024, notable players such as DeAndre Hopkins, Amari Cooper, and Diontae Johnson were traded. While that did not work well, the contenders remained aggressive. In 2025, a handful of players moved. We polled Dynasty staffers Jason Wood, Dan Hindery, Ryan Weisse, Andy Hicks, Maurile Tremblay, and Jeff Bell for their thoughts on the fallout.
Question of the Week
Trade Deadline Fallout: Evaluate a player or two affected by the NFL trade deadline, either in completed deals or based upon trade rumors.
Breece Hall, NY Jets
Hindery: I have long felt Hall has been a bit overrated as a dynasty asset, and the lack of a trade deadline deal reinforced that view. The fact that Kansas City, one of the league's best teams and one that could clearly use an upgrade at running back, reportedly refused to part with even a late third-round pick for him was telling. Hall should have a chance to reset his value in free agency this spring, almost certainly with a new team. A change of scenery would help, but he looks closer to the D'Andre Swift tier of running back free agents than the Saquon Barkley tier.
Braelon Allen, NY Jets
Hindery: The failed Hall trade also confirmed what has been evident for months: Hall wants out of New York. That situation highlights the opportunity for Allen, the 21-year-old running back, that the new coaching staff seems to love. He is positioned well to take over the Jets' backfield in 2026 and beyond. For rebuilding dynasty teams, Allen is precisely the type of player to target in deadline deals—cheap now, but with legitimate long-term upside.
Adonai Mitchell, NY Jets
