Understanding the NFL's Injury Report
(per Dr. Bramel - Footballguys OG)
"The injury report released by the NFL is [made up of] two reports. The first is the Practice Participation report, which lists which injured players practiced and their participation level. It also includes players who rested or missed practice for non-injury-related reasons. The second is the Game Status Report, which gives the probability a player will play, i.e., Questionable, Doubtful, Out. The Practice Participation Report is released every day of the week (Monday through Saturday). The Game Status Report is released with the Friday participation report (Wednesday for Thursday games, Saturday for Monday games). In this feature, I'll include the Game Status Listing and my expectations of their likelihood of playing."
If you are reading this article on Saturday, make sure to come back on Sunday morning as more updates trickle in within the next 24 hours.

* Key: Player, Team | Injury | Game Status Listing | Playing Expectation
Sunday 1:00 PM EST Games
TE Tyler Warren, Indianapolis | Toe | Questionable | Projecting Active
Tyler Warren appeared on the injury report this week with a toe issue, but it didn't slow him down in Week 2 against Denver, where he posted a stat line of 4-79-0, playing 93% of the Colts' offensive snaps. After sitting out Wednesday, he logged limited practices on Thursday and Friday. This pattern suggests the Colts are simply being cautious with their rookie tight end, and it's unlikely the toe injury will keep him off the field this Sunday.
WR Brian Thomas Jr., Jacksonville | Wrist | Off Injury Report | Will Play
It's been a less-than-ideal start to Brian Thomas Jr.'s 2025 season. He dealt with minor injuries in the preseason, but the wrist issue is a new development. While Jacksonville hinted that the injury may have been lingering, this was the first time the team officially listed him on the injury report. It's unclear whether Thomas is truly dealing with a setback or if the designation was more of a scapegoat.
However, the good news is that Thomas has been removed from the injury report and shouldn't face any limitations in Week 3. Whether you feel comfortable keeping him in your lineup is a personal call, but he currently sits at WR15 in Footballguys' consensus rankings.
WR Christian Kirk, Houston | Hamstring | Off Injury Report | Will Play
Christian Kirk has officially been removed from the injury report and will play in Week 3 after missing the first two weeks with a hamstring strain. Even if you're desperate at wide receiver, it may be wise to look elsewhere. Kirk is WR61 among Footballguys staffers, and even that might still be too high.
WRs often struggle in their first game back from a hamstring injury, and the drop-off in fantasy points, snap share, and target share is even more pronounced when the absence has been extended.
WR Xavier Legette, Carolina | Hamstring | Questionable | Projecting Inactive
Xavier Legette was limited all week with a hamstring injury. While he didn't miss a practice, he also failed to log a full participation (FP). Historically, when a player is listed as limited in the final practice report with a hamstring injury, the odds of playing are not favorable, and those chances drop even further if they're limited all week.
I'm not confident Legette suits up in Week 3, and even if he does, his lack of production through the first two weeks makes him an easy fade from fantasy lineups.
WR Emeka Egbuka, Tampa Bay | Groin/Hip Flexor Strain | Projecting Active
Emeka Egbuka missed most of the week's practices with a groin/hip flexor issue, but the context is important. Tampa Bay played on Monday night, and it appears the team was simply giving their rookie wideout some extra rest. This doesn't look like a new injury either. Video from Monday's game showed Egbuka receiving treatment on his hip.

Did Not Practice (DNP) on Wednesday due to hip flexor/groin issue.
Currently I am not overly concerned.
Emeka was seen getting his issue addressed on Monday Night - he is likely playing through the injury. Due to Monday's game he is likely going to get a rest day… pic.twitter.com/CJN3MUkwOm
Despite the issue, his snap share and target share remained steady, suggesting he was still operating at his usual role. I'm projecting him to be active for Week 3, and fantasy managers should feel comfortable keeping him in lineups.
TE Tucker Kraft, Green Bay | Knee | Questionable | Projecting Inactive
Tucker Kraft injured his knee on Thursday, and while there was initial concern about the severity, early reports suggest he should be able to return at some point this season.
Packers standout TE Tucker Kraft, who injured his left knee at Thursday's practice, got “a little scare but all good” one source said after tests today.

Given the timing of Tucker Kraft's injury, seemed unlikely he would play. However reports out of Green Bay indicate he will be active.
