The Targets Report: Week 4

An aerial reality check, analyzing every team's target and snap share report, searching out the receivers who are, or who are becoming, true fantasy gold.

Week 3 continued to crystallize how passing attacks will shape up for 2025. High-end options in Cincinnati, Minnesota, and Washington had to adjust to backup quarterbacks. Coming out of the week, the injury carousel keeps spinning, with CeeDee Lamb and Mike Evans the big names going down. We will break down the whole league to prepare for Week 4.

The Target Report

I view target trees as "clean" or "dirty." Clean trees distill targets to their top options and give standout fantasy performances. Dirty trees are, well, a mess and rely on unpredictable possibilities. The chart below categorizes these offenses.

Offenses with Top 2 Options > 60% Target Share

Team Throws Player Targets Stat Line Target % Snaps Snap %
LA Rams 33 Puka Nacua 15 11-112-0 45.45% 60 91%
Davante Adams 8 3-56-1 24.24% 57 86%
Kyren Williams 3 2-18-1 9.09% 50 76%
Philadelphia 30 A.J. Brown 10 6-109-1 33.33% 62 93%
DeVonta Smith 9 8-60-1 30.00% 64 96%
Saquon Barkley 5 4-9-0 16.67% 63 94%
San Francisco 38 Christian McCaffrey 15 10-88-0 39.47% 59 91%
Ricky Pearsall 11 8-117-0 28.95% 63 97%
Kendrick Bourne 6 4-38-0 15.79% 47 72%
  • The Rams are running the cleanest offense in the league. Both Nacua and Adams are performing well at ADP, and there is little indication that this will change.

  • Dave Kluge and I discussed the Eagles' passing attack on The Dynasty Show, suggesting that Barkley's slower start to the season was due to defenses adjusting to the light pass volume. The offense opened up in the second half against the Rams, something worth watching.

  • McCaffrey's statistical milestones were covered on Monday. Pearsall is off to a great start, though he was quieter in Week 2 when Jauan Jennings got the targets. Jennings should be back in Week 4, and the potential returns of Brandon Aiyuk and George Kittle are looming.
