Top 10 FanDuel DFS Plays for NFL Week 9

With the Bengals and Falcons playing in Madrid on Sunday morning and the Steelers and Titans on bye, FanDuel's main slate is down to 11 games. Three games share the top of the board. Raiders at 49ers carries a total around 51.5 to 52.5, Cowboys at Colts sits at 51.5, and Lions at Dolphins is at 50.5. San Francisco owns the highest implied team total of the week at about 30.5 points as a 10 point favorite, and Detroit isn't far behind at roughly 28.75. Injuries in San Francisco, Green Bay and Washington are funneling targets toward a handful of players. Below are 10 plays worth building around, plus a bonus quarterback, broken down by position with the reasoning behind each one.

Quarterback

Jared Goff, Detroit Lions (at Miami)

Goff is coming off a quiet game. He went 18 for 25 for 176 yards, a touchdown and his first interception of the season in last week's 19-15 win over Minnesota, while the Lions ran for 230 yards. The week before, he posted a QB1 finish against Green Bay. This matchup should look more like that one. Miami has been one of the worst defenses in the league at stopping the pass on a per dropback basis, and Detroit is a seven point road favorite with an implied total near 29. Amon-Ra St. Brown is questionable, so check his status, but Goff still has Jameson Williams, Sam LaPorta and Jahmyr Gibbs to throw to. After a game in which Detroit barely needed him, he should come with lower ownership than his matchup deserves.

Brock Purdy, San Francisco 49ers, $8,500 (vs. Las Vegas)

Purdy projects as the top quarterback on the slate. He has 14 touchdown passes against two interceptions in six games, he leads the league in QBR, and he's been even better at home. Las Vegas allows the third most FanDuel points per game to quarterbacks. Purdy is coming off his worst game of the season, but San Francisco is rested after its bye and has the highest implied total on the board. The receiving corps is still thin. GM John Lynch doesn't expect Deebo Samuel Sr. or Mike Evans to play, and Christian McCaffrey is dealing with a hamstring injury. That concentrates Purdy's targets on George Kittle, who's also on this list, and on McCaffrey if he's active.

Running Back

Jahmyr Gibbs, Detroit Lions, $10,200 (at Miami)
