Welcome to the Dynasty Trading Post, where we examine optimizing strategy, roster construction, format, and player value oscillations every week with real-world completed dynasty trades.

This week, we will look at opportunities in the marketplace with hot running backs from the opening five weeks.

All trades are Superflex unless stated otherwise.

RB Ken Walker III, Chiefs

Only the record-setting Jahmyr Gibbs has produced more fantasy points per game at the position than Ken Walker III through Week 5. Gibbs and Walker are the lone running backs to hit 20 PPR points or more in every game this season. Walker is off to an electric start with the Chiefs optimizing him with goal-line and receiving work as the foundational piece of the offense.

At 26 years old, being an elite producer, and the calendar being in-season, this is the apex moment for Walker's dynasty value. That does not mean a dynasty GM must sell, but it warrants exploration of the marketplace. In the offseason (or by the 2027 season), age will be a factor for Walker, and the next injury to take Walker from the lineup will provoke 'here we go again' and 'I told you so' dynamics in fantasy circles for Walker. Walker has likely fueled dynasty teams to 3-2, 4-1, or 5-0 records. Coming off his bye, Walker is fresh and healthy. Here are some sell-high examples from the recent trade market.

Instructive Dynasty Trades

The theme for Walker exits is that a select few players in the return for Walker are of interest. Three future 1sts or more is an easy sell for all but maybe Josh Allen (or Brock Bowers/Trey McBride in heavy TE-premium formats). The Achane-1st deal is an ideal return for a non-contending team; however, Walker teams are likely contending. Taking on Achane for next year can work well, especially if open to trading for a win-now running back if suddenly light at the position.

Ja'Marr Chase and Bijan Robinson trades are examples of players who are tough to acquire at any time. Leveraging Walking at a true sell-high moment is one of the few avenues to execute acquisition.

RB Kyren Williams, Rams
