The fantasy playoffs will be here before we know it, and leagues with trade deadlines will close movement for the year. Rebuilding teams need to act now to maximize their position for the future. We polled Maurile Tremblay, Ryan Weisse, Jason Wood, Andy Hicks, Dan Hindery, and Matt Montgomery for their best buy and sell targets.
Question of the Week
If you were a rebuilding Dynasty team, who is one player sidelined due to injury or blocked due to a depth chart you would be looking to acquire with the expectation of value rebounding in 2026?
Buy: Malik Nabers, NY Giants
Maurile Tremblay: Nabers is the cleanest buy for a rebuilding dynasty team. His ACL tear in Week 4 suppresses price for current contenders, but he's set to rebound strongly in 2026. He broke the rookie receptions record with 109 in 2024 despite two missed games, then opened 2025 at 16-251-2, confirming true alpha usage and efficiency. Wide receivers generally return closer to pre-injury form from ACLs than running backs, and Nabers' sudden separation, polished route craft, and body control all rely more on technical mastery than brute explosiveness. He'll enter the 2026 season at just 23 years old, so you're buying a discounted long-window WR1.
Ryan Weisse: I agree with Maurile and say this is the perfect opportunity, and maybe the last time you will have a buy window for Nabers. He will bounce back from this knee injury, and it's hard not to be excited about this Giants offense moving forward. It's only been a month, but Jaxson Dart looks legit. In 2026, we should see the best version of this offense, and if you can get Nabers now, it will pay dividends.
Buy: Trey Benson, Arizona
Jason Wood: I concur with my colleagues thatNabers is an excellent choice, but I'll offer a different name to broaden the discussion. Trey Benson is currently on injured reserve and began the season behind veteran James Conner. However, Benson is just 23 years old, possesses the skill set of a true every-down back, and has started to assert himself early in the year. While changes may be coming in Arizona, including a potential new quarterback in 2026, the odds of the organization retaining Conner at his age, coming off another injury, seem low. I expect Benson to get an opportunity to be the team's workhorse in 2026, and if he capitalizes, he could emerge as a multi-year fantasy starter.
Buy: Breece Hall, NY Jets
Andy Hicks: Maurile and others pointed out that, aside from Nabers, it's hard to find another player of a similar ranking. Looking further down the list, perhaps a few rounds deeper, I believe Hall is a player capable of far more than his current situation suggests.
Whether that changes in 2026 depends on whether the Jets franchise him next year, trade him before the window closes, or throw a bucket of money at him before free agency. If Hall hits free agency, I expect a Saquon Barkley-type first season on a good team.
What the Jets are doing with Hall is incompetent. He has fewer than 100 carries, with zero touchdowns to date. Garrett Wilson took the money and stayed. Hopefully, Hall will have the chance to see his talent better utilized elsewhere.
Buy: Joe Burrow, Cincinnati
Dan Hindery: Burrow has been nearly untouchable in Superflex leagues for years, but his injury and the general chaos at quarterback have created a rare buying window. Managers who only lost Burrow may hold firm, but consider those whose quarterback duo was Burrow and Jayden Daniels, or Burrow and Kyler Murray, or Burrow and Bryce Young. You get the picture. It is painful to take zeros at the position, and with bye weeks and more injuries piling up, some Burrow managers may be getting desperate. This is the time to make an offer.
Buy: Kendre Miller, New Orleans
Matt Montgomery: Miller was finally starting to slay the dragon that is Alvin Kamara, but he has been sidelined for the year now due to a torn ACL. Whether Kamara is sandbagging his role to force New Orleans to trade him, or he's finally hit the age cliff, we can all agree that he isn't the same player he's been in the past. The Saints are a sinking ship, and there's reason to believe they'll rip this franchise down to the studs due to a quarterback on a rookie contract. Miller could find himself in a high usage role at the start of next season.
Who is one player you would be looking to sell within the next couple of weeks due to fear of future value falling?
Sell: Tony Pollard, Tennessee
