Sunday Morning Update

Week 5 Results- Loss: 1-4
Going into Week 5, it was a week in which we alluded to it that the FanDuel pricing was just horrible and it probably should have been a week where it was simply a no-play as there was not an edge to be had, as it was just gambling rather than a skill-based contest.
On a side note, the Sunday Morning Updates have been brutal this season. Removing Ken Walker III in Week 4, and then this week removing Christian Watson on Sunday Morning for Nico Collins hurt a lot. Watson was absolutely dominant with 143 yards and 2 touchdowns last week.
Justin Jefferson was never really even in consideration for me last week, simply because of the injury questions heading into week 5. We weren’t even sure as of very early Sunday morning whether he was going to play, and Nico Collins was coming off of an unbelievable game. It ended up that the Texans completely blew out the Titans, and didn’t need to throw for a majority of the second-half.
If there was one mistake made, it was not playing Jaylen Warren who was incredible for the third game in a row. He’s been kryptonite this season, and a player that I have not reacted fast enough too thinking he was going to revert back to his 2025 self, when the reality is that he’s essentially become a top tier running back that is priced much cheaper than that.
The reality is that if there are a lot of those weeks, cash is not worth playing, which we alluded to ahead of last week. If the pricing is that bad, where everyone ends up on an exact same lineup build, and you’re just dealing with props of two elite wide receivers, you’re removing a lot of the skill involved in lineup construction and instead adding even more randomness into this game.
DFS and fantasy football are skill-based contests, but do require some random variance to go your way. However, the fewer choices that you have to make, the less skill-based it becomes.
