The NFL manages every week to clarify some things while making us feel more disoriented about others. As teams, players, and situations remain in flux, so do our fantasy rosters. As above, so below.
Here's a look at the big names you should be looking for this week:
Woody Marks (RB-HOU)
Bid Recommendation: 15-30% of Annual FAAB Budget
Marks will get some run as the starter with David Montgomery out and considered week-to-week with a groin injury. The Jags defense in London is up first, which is a bad matchup, so consider Marks a flex or RB2 in a pinch. Considering the lack of quality in the Texans' run-game execution this season, Marks may remain at that value level for as long as Montgomery is out, so don't go overboard bidding on him.
MarShawn Lloyd (RB-GB)
Bid Recommendation: 12-25% of Annual FAAB Budget
Lloyd scored two rushing touchdowns on two opportunities, which were the first two of his career and first two of the season for the Packers. The Bears defense deserves an assist, of course, but if Lloyd's number is called first in goal-to-go situations, he could be at least a flex play going forward because the vertical passing game is coming on line to open up defenses and bring balance to this offense. There's no word about Josh Jacobs getting removed from the commissioner's exempt list, but that remains unpredictable. Lloyd and the Packers offense's momentum is enough reason to add him with a semi-aggressive bid if you need running back help.
Germie Bernard (WR-PIT)
Bid Recommendation: 10-20% of Annual FAAB Budget
Bernard will move right into the starting spot opposite DK Metcalf with Michael Pittman Jr. (foot) on injured reserve and Roman Wilson out for a few weeks with a finger injury. Bernard is the rare rookie who has the trust of Aaron Rodgers because he knows the answers the way a much more experienced player would. Metcalf has been drawing coverage from the best outside corner, so Bernard should have good matchups in a pass-first offense, making him a WR3/Flex for as long as Wilson and Pittman are out and maybe longer.
Ryan Flournoy (WR-DAL)
Bid Recommendation: 10-20% of Annual FAAB Budget
Flournoy turned three of his targets into 90 yards, but the fourth was a drop that resulted in a costly interception. His fantasy value is still on the way up, with CeeDee Lamb nursing a quad injury that prematurely ended his Week 5. Lamb could be ready to play for Week 6, but Flournoy has proven upside whenever Lamb or George Pickens miss time, and he has what-the-heck flex value every week with the potential for a shootout always looming because of how poor the Cowboys' pass defense is.
Pat Freiermuth (TE-PIT)
Bid Recommendation: 10-20% of Annual FAAB Budget
Freiermuth scored his third and fourth touchdown of the season against the Colts, and Aaron Rodgers has a clear favorite red-zone target in the Steelers' pass-first offense. Freiermuth has as many touchdowns as the entire Steelers wide receiver group combined, and with Roman Wilson's finger injury sidelining him for multiple weeks, the team has a narrower target tree. The Bucs defense is much better vs. the run than the pass, so Freiermuth should go right into your lineup in Week 6 if you need a tight end.
