NFL free agency is a significant catalyst for dynasty value change. Our staff gathered to identify potential dynasty trade targets and players you could buy low or sell high. This section is about running backs with rising dynasty values.

Tony Pollard, Dallas

Jason Wood - Tony Pollard's role was set to increase in 2023 regardless of what else happened on the Cowboys roster. But the team's designating him as their franchise player and possibly losing tight end Dalton Schultz in the process was a feather in his cap. But Jerry Jones' decision to release Ezekiel Elliott -- his prized offensive possession -- cements Pollard's ascension to feature back. With Mike McCarthy taking over play-calling and emphasizing the running game more, Pollard is in line for as much volume as he can handle.

Chad Parsons - Tony Pollard is not out of the woods yet with the NFL Draft ahead and plenty of smoke for Bijan Robinson as the best player available in Round 1, but coming back to Dallas and Ezekiel Elliott departing is a combination of the best-case scenario for Pollard for the short term.

Will Grant - Tony Pollard is the early winner of the running back free agency as the Cowboys strongly committed to him by retaining him with the franchise tag and releasing Ezekiel Elliott. The Cowboys may still try to add depth via the draft, but unless they move up to grab Bijan Robinson, Pollard will enter next season as the primary back for Dallas, giving him high RB2 / low RB1 potential for the next few seasons.

Jamaal Williams, New Orleans

Dave Kluge - The thunder to Alvin Kamara’s lightning has been a sought-after role for years. Jamaal Williams led the league in touchdowns last season and was rewarded with a three-year deal from the New Orleans Saints. His smash-mouth playstyle is a perfect complement to the shifty pass-catcher. There’s uncertainty regarding Kamara’s legal situation, which could open an even more significant role. Williams may not benefit from last year’s workload or red-zone usage. Because of this, his value technically has dipped. But this is one of Williams' best possible landing spots, and he should find himself in yet another fantasy-relevant role. Albeit less exciting than last year’s.
