Roundtable Week 6: Worth the Wait?

Matt Waldman's Roundtable Week 6: Worth the Wait? Matt Waldman Published 10/12/2023

Welcome to Week 6 of the 2023 Footballguys Roundtable. Our intrepid panel of fantasy pundits discusses and debates four topics every week. We split the conversation into separate features.

This week's roundtable features these four topics:

Let's roll.

worth the Wait?

Matt Waldman: Whether the lack of production has to do with injury or a slow start, which fantasy options listed below will be worth the wait THIS SEASON for fantasy GMs?

Yabba-Dabba-Do . . .

Dan Hindery: Of these seven players, Patterson is of the least interest. He is a 32-year-old running back behind an elite young talent (Bijan Robinson) and one of the league's best backups (Tyler Allgeier).

Williams and Burks have draft pedigree on their side but not much else. I haven't seen anything that would indicate either will make any fantasy impact.

Kincaid and Dotson also have draft pedigree on their side but also pass the “eye test” as guys who could put up big numbers if given the opportunity. Their usage so far has been puzzling and disappointing. I am still holding out hope for them but both seem to be trending towards guys we were a year too early on.

Wilson is very interesting simply because the Dolphins have used a two-back system in which both running backs have put up solid numbers. With De'Von Achane out and Wilson potentially set to return, he could step into 40 or 50% of the Dolphins running back touches. That sort of workload doesn't typically get you excited but hits differently in an offense averaging 36.2 PPG.

Taylor is the clearcut cream of this crop. Underdog has a contest that starts this week and runs the rest of the season called Best Ball Resurrection. Taylor's current ADP for that tournament is RB9 and 25th overall. If you have Taylor, he should provide a massive boost to your roster very soon as a legitimate fantasy RB1 in all formats.
