Some quarterbacks get too much credit. Others don't get enough. Finding those underrated talents is what pushes fantasy rosters into championship contenders.

We asked the Footballguys staff which NFL quarterback they think is the most underrated. Here's what they said.

Kyler Murray, Minnesota

Meng Song: I have bets on Caleb Williams and Justin Herbert to win MVP, but at ADP, Kyler Murray is the most underrated quarterback right now in fantasy. It's pretty crazy that Murray is being drafted outside of the top-12 rounds on just about every major fantasy platform. 2025 was a horrendous year for the Vikings, but prior to that, Sam Darnold and Kirk Cousins were consistent fantasy QB1s with Kevin O'Connell calling plays. Murray will be the most mobile quarterback O'Connell has coached in Minnesota, and there's no reason he should be drafted outside the top-12 quarterbacks, much less outside of the top-15 quarterbacks.

Jeff Haseley: Two quarterbacks come to mind as being vastly underrated based on their ADP: Bo Nix and Kyler Murray. While Nix offers a solid floor with his rushing ability and pass-volume potential in Denver's offense, Murray is the far superior value target. His elite scrambling traits provide a ceiling Nix simply cannot match, and operating Kevin O'Connell's explosive passing attack alongside weapons like Justin Jefferson gives him top-five fantasy potential at a deep, late-round discount.

Maurile Tremblay: The Arizona offense detracted from Kyler Murray's efficiency over the past three seasons, but in Kevin O'Connell's system with Justin Jefferson outside, he's capable of a top-ten fantasy performance. Murray now gets the best receiving corps and offensive line of his career, and the Vikings' staff has built pistol and shotgun packages around his legs. The durability discount is overdone: 2025 was a foot injury, not a chronic condition, and he started all 17 games as recently as 2024.

Joe Bryant: Kyler Murray is my guy for this.

Brock Purdy, San Francisco

Jeff Tefertiller: Brock Purdy finished as QB6 last year (in points per game) and has an ADP of QB12, even though his weapons improved. The additions of Samuel and Stribling, combined with a healthy Kittle, have Purdy primed for a big year. He offers weekly upside at a low-end starter price.

Ben Cummins: Brock Purdy is one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. Last season, he ranked sixth in passing yards per game (255), second in pass touchdowns per game (2.5), second in  EPA/Play (0.326), first in Success Rate (56.1%), third in Completion Percentage Over Expected (+6.4), and first in Pressure to Sack Percentage (9.2%). The narrative that he was a product of Kyle Shanahan's system and the weapons around him was always absurd and has been fully debunked by now. And for fantasy, he offers rushing upside as well.

Chad Parsons: Never has there been a year I have been so bullish on waiting at quarterback. Even after nearly all of your league has their QB1, some combination of Dak Prescott, Justin Herbert, Trevor Lawrence, Brock Purdy, Matthew Stafford, Patrick Mahomes II, Bo Nix, Jared Goff, and Kyler Murray will be available. This is a fish-in-the-barrel situation for those who wait at the position. If earmarking one target, I would go with Brock Purdy. Purdy has an elite infrastructure, added Mike Evans, and rookie De'Zhaun Stribling looks to make an early impact. Along with Christian McCaffrey and George Kittle, Purdy has an insulated floor and an elite ceiling (see his stretches as the QB1 overall at various points).
