1. The Bears are going to be extremely fun, but also frustrating. The Bears rightfully have high offensive expectations heading into this season, but Ben Johnson is going to take advantage of the matchup instead of forcing his fantasy stars. Expect week-to-week volatility for Colston Loveland, Rome Odunze, Luther Burden III, and even this running game as great as it was in Week 1.
2. Jalen Coker could be a third-year breakout player. The third year of a wide receiver is often a point that people point to as a critical year for a breakout. We've seen it before, with players taking significant steps in year three, including Nico Collins, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Zay Flowers, and Drake London. While it's become less common than it used to be as players are better prepared to come in right away and succeed, it used to be a general rule in fantasy to target a third-year breakout. For Coker, he may not have been as prepared as some of the new-age elite receivers, as he played college football at Holy Cross and was an undrafted free agent in 2024. However, he could become a significant part of this offense going forward, as he led the team in snaps ahead of Tetairoa McMillan and Xavier Legette.
3. This is a season of tanking. It's no secret that the Browns and Dolphins are looking ahead to the extremely talented 2027 NFL Draft class, and Week 1 confirmed the speculation. Both teams were simply not competitive in Week 1: the Browns lost 34-10, and the Raiders blew out the Dolphins 27-13. The problems are only going to get worse for these teams, as Week 1 is often when teams should be most motivated. These teams simply lack NFL-level talent, and while there was some hope the Browns defense would be good after a strong 2025, the loss of Jim Schwarz was evident in Week 1. Over the next couple of weeks, what will the motivation levels be for these teams? Will other teams join them if their season starts poorly, such as the Titans? Streaming defenses against these offenses, as well as targeting your offensive players against the defenses, is going to be a focal point this year.
4. It's panic time for Quinshon Judkins. Judkins started his rookie season strong in 2025 with a very promising four-game stretch. However, over his last 11 games dating back to last year, he's now averaging just 2.9 yards per carry, which is abysmal. He lacks the vision needed to run behind this poor offensive line that is replacing all five starters, and with the lack of passing threat, he is facing stacked boxes from opposing defenses. If he has any value left, you should try to trade him. Try to find a pairing of another struggling player who has a better chance to rebound, such as Travis Etienne Jr.
5. Isaiah Likely could end up a top-three tight end this season. The Giants under new coach John Harbaugh looked like a completely revitalized franchise. This offensive coaching philosophy has followed Harbaugh throughout his career: involve the tight end heavily. Likely has always been an extremely athletic tight end, but he's shared time with Mark Andrews. Harbaugh went out and made sure the Giants brought him in along with their head coach, and the familiarity paid off in Week 1: Likely had 78 yards and two touchdowns, and he was second on the team in targets, just behind Malik Nabers.
