Chicago, Team Vibes and Players to Target and Avoid

Footballguys Staff's Chicago, Team Vibes and Players to Target and Avoid Footballguys Staff Published 07/26/2023

As we race toward August, Footballguys.com will look at one team per day with our quick-hitting Team Vibes and Players to Target and Avoid, where we check out the overall mood of each team's offense and let you know the players we are in on (because they are great values at the cost it takes to acquire them) and who we're out on (because they are too expensive and won't give you a good return on that investment).

Bears, Team Vibes

  • Good - 4
  • Neutral - 11
  • Bad - 0

Staffers with Good Vibes

  • Dave Kluge: Everything hinges on Justin Fields' ability to take that next step as a passer, but the Bears have done everything possible to set him up for success.
  • Christian Williams: The offense had periods of extreme success in 2022 and added DJ Moore, an improved offensive line, and a healthy Darnell Mooney.
  • Jeff Tefertiller: Excitement is building with Fields, especially in a weakened division after the Aaron Rodgers departure.
  • Nick Whalen: Chicago upgraded at almost every position on the roster and quietly had the 12th-ranked scoring offense per drive from weeks 7-16 in 2022.

Staffers with Neutral Vibes

  • Jason Wood: There are big assumptions about Justin Fields improving by leaps and bounds, but nothing is guaranteed.
  • Zareh Kantzabedian: I'm projecting the Bears to be below average in touchdowns per game.
  • Jeff Haseley: The Bears are headed in the right direction, but they are still a work in progress from a win/loss perspective.
  • Phil Alexander: Adding DJ Moore and upgrading the offensive line were steps in the right direction, but Justin Fields still has plenty to prove as a passer.
  • Jeff Bell: Showed flashes of putting it together in 2022 and added talent.
  • Chad Parsons: DJ Moore was the lone addition of note, and Justin Fields needs to take multiple steps forward as a passer.
  • Daniel Harms: There’s a lot of hope in Chicago these days, but that doesn’t equate to increased fantasy points for their players.
  • Andy Hicks: The team is a work in progress and could ascend if development continues.
  • Ben Cummins: Justin Fields is going to take a step forward in his third season with DJ Moore as a trusted #1 WR.
  • Sam Wagman: The Bears should take a step in the right direction this season with added upgrades on the offensive side.
  • Ryan Weisse: Justin Fields has great fantasy value, but it remains to be seen if he can create value for others in this offense.

Staffers with Bad Vibes
