Welcome to the latest edition of AMA Recap! We'll be summarizing our bi-weekly Discord AMAs, leading up to the 2025 NFL season. This week, Footballguys Dynasty Captain Jeff Bell answered questions about bell cow running backs, how to package veterans for trades, and young wide receiver values.
Bell Cow Blockage
Dodger213: What should we expect from second-year running backs currently blocked by bell cow backs like - MarShawn Lloyd, Ray Davis, and Trey Benson?
Jeff: They are great value buys. I prefer the known year-two running backs over many of the unknown rookie backs. I'm skeptical that any of those rookies will win the job outright, but dynasty should be played with a long lens. Players like Davis and Benson have the opportunity to become much more valuable in a year.
Veteran Trade Packages
th3hamburglar: If you wanted to try to package Terry McLaurin and Aaron Jones together in a two-for-one trade, who would you target at wide receiver or running back?
Jeff: I'd say you are looking at that question a bit from the wrong angle. Veterans are going to have somewhat of a limited market in Dynasty leagues. Instead of looking at a player to target, consider your leaguemates who may be win-now teams but have a need at RB2. Or target the Jayden Daniels manager for potential stacking and secure the best package possible from that situation.
A Tale of Two Jalens
KingPizza: Who do you prefer between Jalen McMillan and Jalen Coker?
Jeff: Jalen McMillan. It might seem like "out of sight, out of mind" for him with the arrival of Emeka Egbuka. However, McMillian has a better quarterback situation, showcased a higher ceiling, has a game more tuned to fantasy production, and there is ample future opportunity.
Trading Mike Evans
Nunzio50: Looking to move Mike Evans for draft capital; curious what you would rate him as getting in return?
Jeff: I'd say it's the wrong time of year to trade Evans for capital. Give it a month or two when everyone is taking him early in their redraft leagues, especially if there's any news on Chris Godwin starting slow.
Broncos Backs
Nunzio: One more question. With J.K. Dobbins signing with Denver, how much value did RJ Harvey lose?
Jeff: It’s hard not to lose value compared to the previous situation. I tend to believe Dobbins will handle more of the passing-down work. I don’t dislike Harvey, but I rarely end up with him. I preferred Colston Loveland and Tyler Warren, and it was uncommon for Harvey to be available when they weren’t.
