Understanding the NFL's Injury Report
(per Dr. Bramel - Footballguys OG)
"The injury report released by the NFL is [made up of] two reports. The first is the Practice Participation report, which lists which injured players practiced and their participation level. It also includes players who rested or missed practice for non-injury-related reasons. The second is the Game Status Report, which gives the probability a player will play, i.e., Questionable, Doubtful, Out. The Practice Participation Report is released every day of the week (Monday through Saturday). The Game Status Report is released with the Friday participation report (Wednesday for Thursday games, Saturday for Monday games). In this feature, I'll include the Game Status Listing and my expectations of their likelihood of playing."
If you are reading this article on Saturday, make sure to come back on Sunday morning as more updates trickle in within the next 24 hours.

* Key: Player, Team | Injury | Game Status Listing | Playing Expectation
____________________________________________________________________________________________________
Sunday 1:00 PM EST Games
WR Jauan Jennings, San Francisco | Shoulder | Questionable | Projecting Active
WR Wan'Dale Robinson, New York Giants | Ankle | Questionable | Projecting Active
Wan'Dale Robinson opened the week as a non-participant (DNP) but followed it up with two consecutive limited practices (LP). He remains officially listed as Questionable, but historical trends for both WRs progressing from DNP → LP → LP and Giants players in similar situations suggest he’s likely to be active.
From a fantasy perspective, Robinson is best known for his safe floor in PPR formats, though his low depth of target keeps his ceiling limited. If active, there’s a good chance he continues to operate in his normal role with the Giant's offense.
Sunday 4:25 PM EST Game
WR Xavier Worthy, Kansas City | Shoulder | Doubtful | Likely Inactive
Xavier Worthy practiced this week with a shoulder brace after dislocating his shoulder in Week 1. Surgery remains on the table at some point this season, though he may be able to delay it until the offseason. While Week 2 was always unlikely, Weeks 3–4 are more realistic return targets.
Worthy will carry ongoing risk, as this type of injury can lead to setbacks or additional missed time. Still, he has a path to being a valuable fantasy asset. A useful comparison: in 2021, Tee Higgins dealt with a similar injury, played through it, finished as a top-24 WR, and had surgery the following offseason.
Saturday Update: Worthy has been officially downgraded to OUT.
Sunday Night 8:20 PM EST Game
WR Drake London, Atlanta | Shoulder | Off Injury Report | Expected to Play
Drake London gave fantasy managers a scare in Week 1 when he left the game with what appeared to be an AC joint sprain. While most of these injuries result in only a short absence (typically 1–2 weeks), there’s always a chance of players not missing any time. Now London joins this group.
Wide receivers returning from AC joint sprains often face an elevated re-injury risk and tend to see a dip in fantasy production. Given London’s draft cost, most managers won’t have a better option to replace him, but it’s important to recognize the risk.
WR Darnell Mooney, Atlanta | Shoulder | Off Injury Report | Expected to Play
Monday Night Games
WR Chris Godwin, Tampa Bay | Ankle | Doubtful | Likely Inactive
Chris Godwin returned to practice this week, but there was never a realistic expectation for him to play. The plan remains for him to return closer to Week 5. He’s officially listed as "Doubtful" for Week 2, though the odds of him suiting up are even slimmer than that designation suggests.
WR Christian Kirk, Houston | Hamstring | Questionable | Likely Inactive
Despite not practing this week, Christian Kirk is listed as "Questionable" heading into Week 2. Based on his practice trends, he’s more likely to sit, and the timeline of his hamstring injury suggests he could miss another 1–2 weeks before returning.
Saturday Update: Houston has made it official. Kirk will not play Monday.
TE Brock Bowers, Las Vegas | Knee | Questionable | Projecting Active
After Week 1, the Raiders downplayed Brock Bowers’ knee injury, but as the week has progressed, Bowers was not practicing...that was until Saturday There is some speculation the Bowers is dealing with a PCL sprain, although I cannot confirm this just yet. Minor PCL sprains typically sideline players for 2–4 weeks.
Bowers did practice on Saturday and early reports out of Vegas are that Bowers will play Monday, although this is not a guarantee.
Raiders HC Pete Carroll said TE Brock Bowers (knee) practiced today, “looked terrific”, and is expected to play Monday night versus the Chargers.

Again, without the specifics of the injury it's, difficult forecast Bower's production. For non-specific knee injuries, there is evidence of a decline in both snap share and target share. It's nearly impossible to advise managers against playing Bowers, but I do think he could be limited by this injury.
