Sunday Morning Update

Week 2 Results- Win: 1-1

Week 1 was a grind. The lineup was cruising along in the top 5% of cash lineups, and then Jayden Daniels got hurt, and all of a sudden it became an absolute battle down to the very last possession. Things got even more stressful when San Francisco pulled their starters at the start of the fourth quarter, as Christian McCaffrey was severely under-rostered this week.

However, in the end it came down to the very last possession. Washington was down 37-20, and Dallas/Washington were both highly rostered this past week. Washington decided enough was enough and just ran the ball for the last four minutes of the game, which was fortunate, as another Terry McLaurin catch or Dallas getting the ball back may have turned a very good week into a disastrous one. If I had been 0-2 due to two quarterbacks getting injured in the first two weeks, that would have been a low point.

Here’s to hoping the injury luck is behind us and it’s smooth sailing from here on out!

The Good:

• Parker Washington just continues to be a player you want to target. While he fell just short of a 100-yard game, he did have seven receptions for 98 yards at just $6,600, which you’ll take every week. He now has 80+ yards in six straight games.
• Garrett Wilson’s touchdown was huge for the Primary Cash Lineup. 
• Jayden Daniels was the right play. He was simply dominant through the first half of that game with 14.74 FanDuel points and on pace for a 30 point game when you factor in that he had 69 rushing yards in the first-half. Looking at process over results is critical here, and if Daniels had played the second half, this lineup would have continued to be in the top 5% of lineups.
• Panthers were just lucky. To get 26 points out of a $3,300 defense is just random variance. It didn’t help a ton as about 70% of the field landed on the Panthers, but if you didn’t have them unfortunately it was a tough week for you.

The Bad:

• Christian McCaffrey was the opposite of Daniels. It wasn’t the right play, but it worked out. McCaffrey had just 23 rushing yards on 10 carries, but did find the end-zone twice which ultimately saved his day.
• It’s hard to call Bijan Robinson a “bad” play, as he was rostered by 85-90% of rosters. The game got completely away from Atlanta, as Robinson had just 72 yards on 16 carries. However, he’s likely a player that I would still play if we could do this exact week over again, as we saw on Thursday night just how dominant he can be each week.
• Matthew Golden was disappointing and was only 20% rostered. Heading into the second-half it looked like it was going to be close to zero points for Golden, but thankfully he was able to turn it around and salvage something in the second half with four receptions for 58 yards. The Packers just seem broken at the moment.

Injury Creates Opportunity

Keon Coleman and DJ Moore are both questionable this week. It seems unlikely that they’re going to play, but even if they do, they’ll likely be limited. This opens the door for Dalton Schultz to once again have a big game as he had 140 yards last week.
