WR Ladd McConkey, LA Chargers | 4:05 EST Kickoff

Ladd McConkey returned to a limited practice Friday after sitting Wednesday and Thursday with a rib injury, making him a true game-time decision. Even if he's active, the concern isn't just whether he plays but whether pain or a limited role impacts his fantasy production. Historically, most wide receivers with rib injuries miss at least one game, and I'm uncomfortable trusting McConkey in Week 2 if I have a comparable healthy alternative or play in a chopped/guillotine league where a 0 could sink you.

TE Brock Bowers, Las Vegas | 4:05 EST Kickoff

Brock Bowers returned to practice Friday but remains doubtful as he works his way back from a meniscus procedure on the same knee that bothered him last season. His return to practice is encouraging, but he is still expected to sit in Week 2. Ideally, Bowers gets a full week of practice before returning, with Week 4 or beyond still looking like the safer timeline.

WR Zay Flowers, Baltimore | 1:00 EST Kickoff

Zay Flowers returned to practice Friday in a limited capacity but is listed as doubtful for Week 2. Historically, players carrying a doubtful designation sit more than 90% of the time, so I'm treating Flowers as out. The limited practice is encouraging, however, and if he continues progressing next week, a Week 3 return is possible. Flowers has a history of coming back sooner than the expected injury-specific timeline.

WR Nico Collins, Houston | 1:00 EST Kickoff

Nico Collins is out for Week 2 after suffering a new hamstring strain during Wednesday's practice. In-season hamstring strains typically cost NFL wide receivers around two weeks, and Collins has a history of soft-tissue injuries, including a five-week absence with a hamstring strain in 2024. Week 3 could be in jeopardy as well, so fantasy managers should prepare for the possibility of a multi-week absence.

WR Puka Nacua, LA Rams | 8:15 EST Kickoff - MONDAY

Puka Nacua hasn't practiced this week due to a hip injury, which deserves attention considering he dealt with a hip flexor issue during the offseason. Still, I'm not hitting the panic button yet, as the Rams could simply be giving him additional rest ahead of Monday night. For now, I'm keeping Nacua in my starting lineup, but as with most games later in the week, backup plans are needed in case his status takes a turn.
