Hi Folks,

We do a ton of insightful, thoughtful, and serious features here at Footballguys with smart people thinking deeply for you.

This is not one of those features.

This is Random Shots, and it's a few pages of me sharing all the random goofiness from this week. With maybe a music note and sometimes a "soap box" wrap at the end.

Here's to Football.

J

If a fantasy football season were 9 seconds like this video, we're about 2 seconds in.

But so far, this feels pretty accurate.

Make sure to have the sound on.

Cam Skattebo gets muddy playing on artificial turf.

Going to drop this one right here...

Thanks to Clayton Gray for that one.

I could probably stop right here.

Thanks to Drew Davenport for that one.

Ouch.

I love how happy CeeDee Lamb was for George Pickens. And how he was so excited when the DB pressed him at the line.

Cold.

He's 41 years old, so the wheels may come off at any moment. But this has been fun for anyone who's ever been told they were too old, or not good enough anymore, or no longer had what it takes.

This is what a glimmer of hope for saving your job looks like...

Maybe the Titans' play-calling wasn't the problem?

This was filthy.

Browns Defense.

All Day Long, Lions Fans.

Sports Fans in one tweet.

The Eagles are geniuses playing aggressive, innovative football. When it works.

When the same play doesn't work, the Saints are the dumbest team in the league.

My guess is lots of people can relate to this one.

Fun moment from Drake Maye with the Superman celebration.

He grew up a big Cam Newton fan, and this had to be sweet for him.

Steelers Social Media person on the ball.

I'm with Coach Dan here. "Just Follow Skattebo" seems like a pretty good plan.

At a certain age in life, we can drop the pretenses...

Also true:

Jameis Winston might be the best teammate in the NFL.

I had a very different take on the Florida State-Virginia game than this X account.

This wasn't about College Football being better than the NFL. Thankful no one was seriously hurt.

And yeah, I know I sound like your Dad.

Some things on College Game Day work. This was not one of those things.

Probably...

Accurate.

Related:

I love Eli Manning.

Music note this week. Tyler Childers is a singer-songwriter from Eastern Kentucky, not too far from where I live in Tennessee. He blends country, folk, and honky-tonk with Appalachian storytelling. If you know me, you're not surprised I'm a fan.

Random Shots readers could have told you this was the problem weeks ago.

Plus, I never pass up a chance to share this classic.

"My condo $4,800 a month. You not movin' like me" gets me every time.

If Carson Wentz were a team, he'd be Dallas. Lots of good. Lots of bad. But pretty fun to watch.

They brought in Anthony Weaver to offset Mike McDaniel.

It's a beautiful game.

Dak Prescott with a relatable line.

This is mean.

Not untrue. But mean.

Before the Week 4 matchup between the 49ers and Jaguars, San Francisco's Robert Saleh suggested Jacksonville had a "legal advanced signal-stealing type system".

The Jaguars had thoughts.

Hang it in the Louvre.

Quentin Johnston, you're kind of ridiculous.

Wrapping with this one.

Josh Allen is one of my favorite players. No surprise there, he's one of the most popular guys in the league.

He's obviously a great football player. But I think I mostly like Josh Allen, the person.

This pre-game clip is a nice example. It's not crazy or over the top. It's not the normal hair on fire stuff.

It's just good team building. And it applies to all of life. Not just football.

He says a lot in just a few words:

"Couldn't ask for a better day, Fellas.
"I'm honored to fight with you each and every day.
"Let's go get one, huh?
"Do your job.
"Love each other.
"Help each other up."

The world needs more of that.

And you can be the one who does it.

Thank you for being part of this goofy journey with us.

And thanks to Footballguys Keith Overton, Drew Davenport, Sigmund Bloom, and Clayton Gray for the help. If you've got a Random Shot of your own, email me at bryant@footballguys.com.

Thanks for playing along, and I hope you make the most of whatever you're doing in your life. Love your neighbor and stick together.

Peace and Grace to you.

J
