Hi Folks,

We do a ton of insightful, thoughtful, and serious features here at Footballguys with smart people thinking deeply for you.

This is not one of those features.

This is Random Shots, and it's a few pages of me sharing all the random goofiness from this week. With maybe a music note and sometimes a "soap box" wrap at the end.

Sometimes this thing just writes itself.

We've come a long way. This is how NFL players were carted off the field in 1969.

Jaxson Dart tried to come back into the game after this. 

He'll have season-ending surgery to repair his meniscus, medial collateral ligament (MCL), and posterior cruciate ligament (PCL).

It feels so unfair that we can't keep these three on the field together.

Me too.

On a lighter note, Browns fans have an idea.

I like Nate Burleson a lot. But this was ungood.

Not every division matchup is a rivalry.

Agreed though, the field is beautiful.

Why I don't bet College Football.

North Carolina State had multiple easy ways to secure the win.

Instead, they managed to find the one way to lose.

Before Saturday, teams with the ball and a lead in the final 10 seconds were 1,046-1 over the last 20 seasons.

It seems like there should be some sort of credit against these fines if you also get hurt on the play. 

This is literally, "Adding insult to Injury".

I'm not sure if this is happy or sad.

These guys make a lot of money.

These guys earn a lot of money.

There are lots of stadiums in the country bigger than Vaught-Hemingway in Oxford.

But not none were more intense last Saturday. Turn the volume way up.

I can't unsee this. 

Yup.

Who's making fun of that Guardian Cap now?

Just like they drew it up.

I hope this won some sort of prize.

I don't know if they cover "A-s whipping in Oxford" at Governor school. But here we are.

22 year old quarterbacks are probably not meant for this kind of hit.

42 year old quarterbacks are definitely not meant for this kind of hit.

It's a beautiful game.

One more

Not what you want to see.

Thought this was interesting from Peyton Manning. Manning is a huge UT (the real UT, in Tennessee) supporter. But he said it was a no brainer which team he was pulling for Saturday in Knoxville. 

I totally understand his response and I would feel the same way. But it's still interesting I think.

If anything it's a good reminder for perspective: Athletes don't priortize us; they prioritize themselves and their family, which is totally understandable and how it should be. But an eye opener for some fans.

Maybe Jaxon Smith-Njigba will be ok until Darnold gets back..

On a serious note, I know everyone today on the internet thinks they're a doctor. But maybe pump the brakes a bit.

I love Kirk Cousins.

From a few years ago.

For context, a few years back in an ugly scene, someone threw a golf ball from the stands and hit Kiffin in the leg.

God bless defensive backs. I have no idea how you're supposed to stop this.

This aged poorly.

It's been fascinating watching people on social media confidently explain the inner emotional workings of Caleb Williams while having absolutely no access to his thoughts.

Apparently, the gift of clairvoyance comes free with a Twitter account. Amazing.

I miss Johnny Cash.

The Music Note this week is "I've Been Everywhere". 

And because I know y'all need to know this kind of thing, this one is interesting. 

Per wikipedia, the song was written by Australian country singer Geoff Mack in 1959, was originally was about places in Australia. Hank Snow changed the lyrics to this version in 1962. Johnny Cash recorded it in 1996.

I've always thought the randomness of the cities was fun.
