Sunday Morning Update

Brock Bowers is not expected to play this week, which puts Jakobi Meyers in a tremendous spot this week at $6,000.

The big question that you're going to need to answer is whether you take those savings and apply it as an upgrade somehwere else. You could upgrade Fields to Justin Herbert, or Rico Dowdle to Rachaad White

When it comes to White, my issue is the matchup. Seattle has one of the league's best run defenses through the first four weeks. They've only allowed one running back to top 50 yards this season, which was Christian McCaffrey who needed 22 carries to do it. This is a defense that is allowing just 3.2 yards per carry on the season, which will limit White's upside.

For Herbert, it's just about risk tolerance. I would rather be on the side of the mobile quarterback with more upside in Fields.

Primary Cash Lineup

My expectation is that this will also be a very popular lineup.

Initial Thoughts On the Start to the Season

For those who know me, you’ll know that these are the things that I care about when it comes to football:

  1. Ohio State football
  2. The success of Cracking FanDuel’s advice/lineup
  3. The help and advice we’re giving across Footballguys. If you ever have any topics or want to reach out, please do so on x at https://x.com/devinknottsfbg or email via knotts@footballguys.com

Big Gap

  1. Cleveland Browns Football
  2. The success of my own fantasy football lineups
  3. Money invested in DFS

As I mentioned last week, this article matters a lot to me. It’s a passion project, as my goal in building Footballguys' DFS space was to be able to provide quality DFS advice that is accessible to any DFS player. As long as I do this, I will put as much energy as I can into this.

To start 1-3 this season is as low as I’ve been to start the season in a long time. For those who message me with their frustration on Sunday, I get it. We’ve been in this together for a long time. Celebrate the wins, vent your frustrations on the losses.

Here’s the reality. As much effort as I put into this article this week, there’s no guarantee that it will improve in a single week. Over time, I’m certainly confident that it will correct, but in a single week? Nothing is guaranteed, so please do not chase your bankroll to a point of overextension.
