Brashard Smith (RB-KC), Tyquan Thornton (WR-KC) - In case you haven't noticed, the Chiefs have morphed back into an aggressive pass-heavy offense resting squarely on the shoulders of Patrick Mahomes II. Rashee Rice's return in Week 7 should only take things up a notch. If you read this column, then you already know about Brashard Smith. His snap count continues to go up, and it's only a matter of time before the team trusts him in a core role. Thornton is Mahomes' #1 deep threat, and Xavier Worthy is missing practice with an ankle injury. Both of these players have among the highest speculative values of any bench stashes.
Jameson Williams (WR-DET) - One target against the Bengals really stings. He is too good, and this offense is too good for this to continue forever. Invest and be patient.
Alvin Kamara (RB-NO), Kendre Miller (RB-NO), Taysom Hill (QB-NO) - Kamara is so beloved in New Orleans that it seems impossible to picture him in another uniform, but the trade rumors are starting to build. If he is dealt to a running-back-needy team, then Miller takes over. Hill would also have an expanded role in the running game. Kellen Moore has confirmed that Hill has taken practice snaps at quarterback. There are a lot of ways for Hill to get back to the boom/bust TE1 status he has had at his peak.
Jalen Coker (WR-CAR) - Coker should return in Week 7 at the latest, and could be back this week for a juicy matchup against the Cowboys' secondary. He was set to take over the slot role that Adam Thielen made so valuable before a quad injury took the first month of the season from him. Tetairoa McMillan has been everything he was advertised to be, but if Bryce Young can regain his late 2024 form, then this passing game should be able to support two fantasy-relevant passcatchers.
Ryan Flournoy (WR-DAL), Tory Horton (WR-SEA), Isaac TeSlaa (WR-DET) - This trio of receivers has made a splash at different times this season with their athleticism and precocious development. Flournoy upstaged Jalen Tolbert with CeeDee Lamb and KaVontae Turpin sitting in Week 5. He's a size/speed/athleticism developmental, small-school, sixth-round project from 2024 who has arrived. Horton already looks like he could be a starter. He has scored in three of five games already this season. TeSlaa is the most impressive of all, as he is showing the releases and acceleration to create separation against NFL corners. All three are in plus passing games, with TeSlaa and Flournoy getting bigger bumps here, but if Sam Darnold keeps playing well, he can help Horton's dynasty value take off.
Daniel Jones (QB-IND), Josh Downs (WR-IND) - The Colts offense scored six touchdowns in Week 5, and Jones was only in on two of them. His scoring potential is much higher than his output over the last three weeks. If you need a quarterback, he still has the best bang for your buck on the trade market. Downs was getting more looks from Jones last week. As a player who creates so many high percentage targets by getting open, why shouldn't he? While he hasn't played a big role because this offense is balanced, a player of Downs' talents in such a productive offense is going to go off sooner or later.
Carson Wentz (QB-MIN) - If Wentz beats the Eagles in Week 7 after the bye, it's going to be hard to go back to J.J. McCarthy. Even if Kevin O'Connell does, McCarthy will have to play a lot better than he did in the first two games, or we are going to hear a lot of calls for Wentz to take back over. Wentz has actually shown that this scheme and a strong set of pass-catchers can elevate his fantasy value. The offensive line will get healthier, making this a potential sleeper quarterback fantasy situation, and Wentz has the momentum to occupy it for most, if not all, of the rest of the season.
Travis Hunter (WR-JAX) - Hunter had his highest snap share of the season in Week 5, and he also recorded his first big play in the downfield passing game of the season, in addition to another play where he showed his top-end elusiveness in space. The Jaguars made a move to bolster their cornerback group by swapping Tyson Campbell for Greg Newsome II, which might free up Hunter to have a bigger contribution on offense. His talent is coming to the surface. Hunter is worth a speculative buy in redraft leagues if you can get him as a throw-in in a larger deal.
