Welcome to the Dynasty Trading Post, where we examine optimizing strategy, roster construction, format, and player value oscillations every week, providing examples and completed dynasty trades.
This week, we'll focus on two notable new injuries: Jayden Daniels and Tucker Kraft.
*All trades are Superflex unless stated otherwise*
QB Jayden Daniels, Washington
Theme of the Week: Exit Door or Collect Upside?
Jayden Daniels' stop-and-start 2025 season has included missing Weeks 3-4, again missing Week 8, and now an elbow injury to derail (likely) the rest of the season starting in Week 10. While there is a potential to return, Washington is trending strongly towards being eliminated from the playoffs by late this season, and dynasty teams need to be prepared for Daniels to be done until 2026. While Daniels did not have any elite fantasy performances a la his electric rookie season, Daniels operated without Terry McLaurin for most of the season and Deebo Samuel Sr. for some games, his two most notable weapons.
This latest injury will do little to shed his growing injury-prone label dating back to college or the idea that Daniels' thin frame and play style will lead to a host of injuries. When a strong dynasty asset gets injured, it marks an ideal time to pair contenders and non-contenders together in a win-win trade market. Both buy and sell angles will be explored.
Here are a few key trades involving Jayden Daniels this week:
- Sell Daniels for Justin Herbert, 27 2nd
- Sell Daniels, DJ Moore, Kayshon Boutte for Lamar Jackson
- Sell Daniels for Justin Herbert, Kyle Pitts Sr.
- Sell Daniels, Rashid Shaheed, Harold Fannin Jr., for Drake Maye, Oronde Gadsden (0.5 TE Premium)
- Buy Daniels, 26 2nd for Bo Nix, 26 3rd
- Buy Daniels for Cam Ward, Nico Collins
- Buy Daniels for Dak Prescott, D'Andre Swift, DJ Moore
- Buy Daniels for Jaxson Dart, Tank Bigsby, 26 2nd
The most common pivots within the quarterback position to keep contending teams moving on their title journeys are Lamar Jackson and Justin Herbert. There is a net benefit for rebuilding teams to take on Daniels' zero points in the home stretch, which could be the difference of a draft position or two come rookie draft time in the offseason. Considering the strong quarterbacks involved in the Daniels sells, a small add-on or two, on either side, is appropriate, depending on which team is the more motivated party.
As a contender buying Daniels, the ideal package is to come from a lesser quarterback position. Bo Nix, Cameron Ward, Dak Prescott, and Jaxson Dart are the examples above. Get the best player in the deal and have it be at a premium position (a la Daniels in Superflex), and you will be better off for the lone haul a heavy majority of trades.
TE Tucker Kraft, Green Bay
