Atlanta 35 - Green Bay 14

  • Michael Penix Jr. looked very comfortable in his first game back from ACL surgery. Kevin Stefanski turned around Baker Mayfield's career in their first year together, and Penix executed crisply, so this offense could overachieve in fantasy if Penix stays healthy. Of course, Green Bay's poor defense shouldn't be overlooked as an important part of this outcome.
  • Bijan Robinson looked like a future Hall of Famer and could give Jahmyr Gibbs a run for his money as RB1 if Penix stays healthy.
  • Drake London was a man among boys in the Packers secondary. His weekly ceiling is Smith-Njigba-esque as long as Penix is healthy.
  • Kyle Pitts Sr. caught one of two targets for five yards. Austin Hooper caught a touchdown to add insult to fantasy lineup injury. Pitts isn't an essential hold in redraft leagues.
  • The Packers offensive line is giving up pressure on most passing plays and can't get any push on run plays. You don't need to roster any Packers running back.
  • Jordan Love has a high weekly ceiling because the offense will run through him and his pass-attempt numbers will be high, but predictable, pass-first offenses invite disaster.
  • Christian Watson is a high-ceiling WR1 and Matthew Golden a high-ceiling WR2 in this version of the Packers offense. Golden could have WR1 numbers through the first three weeks if not for the multiple long pass interference penalties he has drawn, including one in this game.
  • Tucker Kraft posted a meager 4-26 stat line on eight targets. He might be kept in to block more with the offensive line woes, and his explosive plays won't come nearly as often without a credible run threat.

Pittsburgh 30 - Cincinnati 27

  • Aaron Rodgers threw touchdowns on busted coverages and one on an extended play to DK Metcalf in a game that exposed the flaws in the resurgent Bengals defense. The Bengals are vulnerable against Trevor Lawrence in Week 4. Metcalf is still only a what-the-heck flex going forward.
  • Pat Freiermuth could have had a nice week if Aaron Rodgers hadn't missed him on a rare tight end double move deep ball. He's just a what-the-heck tight end play, but perhaps worth holding if you don't have a clear TE1 for your team.
  • Jaylen Warren was in top form despite being questionable with a shoulder issue. He got almost all of the work with Rico Dowdle sidelined by a toe injury and posted big gains in both the passing and running game. He stumbled with nothing but green between him and the end zone on one play or he would have had even bigger Week 3. The Steelers should go back to him as a lead back in Week 4, and they could stick with him for the long haul after this performance. The Bengals' run defense looked elite against the Texans, but maybe that was just the deficiency in the Texans' run blocking.
  • Joe Burrow had his usual pitch-and-catch game going with Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins. He is coming on for fantasy along with his targets with right tackle Amarius Mims shutting down T.J. Watt on his way to becoming one of the elite players in the league at his position.
  • Chase Brown and the running game weren't able to get on track in this back-and-forth, high-scoring affair. He is more of a low-ceiling RB2 than the high-ceiling RB1 we saw once Burrow returned last year, but there's time for his value to grow.
  • Mike Gesicki caught a touchdown from Joe Burrow on 4th and 2 from the 26. He ended up with a 3-37-1 line to post his second strong game in two weeks. The other was a zero, but if he keeps scoring from distance in his good weeks, he is worth considering when you need a tight end from the waiver wire.

Jacksonville 35 - New England 6

  • The Patriots defense was difficult to crack at first, but Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars running game eventually put together 9-, 10-, and 15-yard touchdown drives to sap the life from what is considered a good unit. Lawrence (who would have had a rushing score, but sat down at the 1 to give it to Bhayshul Tuten instead) and the Jaguars offense is back on track to take it to a new level this season after a very strong finish last year. The team has been able to take the foot off of the gas pedal on offense in the third quarter in two of three games or Lawrence would have even bigger numbers.
  • Tuten almost doubled Chris Rodriguez Jr.'s carry and yardage numbers to post another solid RB2 game. Rodriguez scored, which puts him back on the waiver-wire radar given how many red-zone opportunities this offense will create (seven between Tuten's 4 and Rodriguez's 3 in this game).
  • Jakobi Meyers led the team in targets, catches, and receiving yards, and he scored against his old team to post a low-end WR1 game in PPR leagues. It is worth riding out the lows if Meyers can continue to post a game like this every other week or so.
  • Parker Washington only caught three passes, but one was a touchdown, and it came right after Washington had an even better touchdown catch nullified by penalty. This is a great sign for his weekly floor.
  • Drake Maye was a mess in this game, throwing another red zone interception, this time right before the half, and a second feeble interception to mercifully end any chance the Patriots had to hang around in this game. He is a boom/bust play against the Bills in Week 4. The schedule does get easier in upcoming weeks, and then AJ Brown should be back around Week 9. Don't drop Maye even though there are signs that his game is coming unraveled.
  • TreVeyon Henderson went back to being second fiddle despite posting the only explosive run play the team has had so far in Week 2. Both he and Rhamondre Stevenson are just what-the-heck flex plays until this offense gets something going.
  • No Patriots wide receiver or tight end is worth rostering while Maye is in a slump.

NY Giants 12 - Tennessee 7

  • This game was played in sloppy conditions and probably wasn't going to be a good offensive outing in any scenario.
  • Jameis Winston and Cam Ward both still played objectively poor games. The Giants traded for J.J. McCarthy, who could take over in the next 3-4 weeks unless Winston can reverse the trend from his first two games. Ward isn't going to sit any time soon, but it's going to be tough for this offense to support consistent fantasy value from anyone until Ward improves.
  • Malik Nabers is only a what-the-heck flex, and we can forget about Jameis Winston's freewheeling past taking Nabers' value to a new level. Nabers is a sell low, but it might be too late.
  • Isaiah Likely is going to be a drop if he can't do anything of note against the tight end-challenged Arizona defense next week.
  • Cam Skattebo running people over is the only reliable element of the Giants offense right now. He's a solid RB2.
  • Brian Burns went down with a torn ACL, a massive loss for the Giants defense
  • Carnell Tate (6-58) and Wan'Dale Robinson (7-57-1) posted their best games of the season as the Titans passed almost twice as often as they ran. Tony Pollard had a season high in carries as Tyjae Spears played, but isn't at 100%. Pollard is a hold, but probably not even a what-the-heck flex against the Ravens in Week 4 unless Spears is out.

Washington 33 - Seattle 31

  • Marcus Mariota was outstanding against the Seahawks in one of the best starts of his career. He's a streaming QB1 and solid QB2/Superflex play against the Colts.
  • Mariota and Terry McLaurin looked like longtime teammates, with McLaurin posting his first good (6-77-1) line of the season. He should be back in your lineup as a WR3/Flex in Week 4.
  • Jacory Croskey-Merritt was ineffective against a good Seattle run defense, but Rachaad White ran well in limited work and also caught a touchdown pass. He suffered a shoulder injury late in the game, and the team signed Austin Ekeler, so while White is playing well, he may not have sustained fantasy relevance unless he surpasses Croskey-Merritt on the depth chart. Neither White nor Croskey-Merritt is an essential hold in short-bench leagues.
  • Stefon Diggs caught only four balls for 33 yards, but his role didn't essentially change in Week 3. He just didn't catch a touchdown. With Mariota playing well, Diggs is at least a what-the-heck flex in Week 4.
  • Sam Darnold was terrific in his return from a Week 1 glute injury, throwing four touchdowns, but a late pick six sealed the Seahawks fate in this game. Darnold could be a viable matchup QB1 and solid QB2/Superflex with the Seahawks running game stalling out, especially in the red zone.
  • Jadarian Price fumbled, and Sonny Styles broke up a deep target to him on a rough afternoon for the rookie. It's unclear whether the team will trust him in the red zone going forward. He's not an essential hold in short bench leagues and this is not a great start for his dynasty stock.
  • Jaxon Smith-Njigba had another truly dominant game. It's only three games in, but he is on pace to break the single-season record for catches, yards, and touchdowns.
  • Darnold threw for over 200 yards and two scores to players other than Smith-Njigba. We'll keep Rashid Shaheed and Cooper Kupp (who got one of the scores) on our waiver wire watch list.
  • AJ Barner should be added from the waiver wire if you need help at tight end. He posted a 5-69 and was second on the team with nine targets and multiple red zone opportunities. He could also become a more frequent option in the short-yardage running game, including at the goal line. He's worth a what-the-heck TE1 spot start against the Chargers.
