March saw elite players change teams at an unprecedented rate. Franchise quarterbacks and some of the top wide receivers in the game landed in new spots, dramatically changing the fantasy landscape. With the sheer volume of trades and free agency movement over the past 31 days, we are going to experiment with a new feature here in the April 2022 dynasty trade value article. You may have noticed that player values in the dynasty trade value app are now being updated in real time. This month’s article will begin with a log of every single change in player value throughout March with a very short explanation of the reasoning for those changes.
In addition to the log of all value changes that occurred during March, this month’s article will also include an update on the value of 2022 rookie picks. Plus, we will take a first look at the 2023 rookie class and the debut of 2023 rookie pick trade values.
The dynasty trade value chart is tailored to 12-team PPR leagues with a starting lineup of one quarterback, two running backs, three wide receivers, one tight end, and one flex. It now also includes trade values for Superflex leagues in a separate column. The chart is meant to serve primarily as a guide for trades but can also be a great resource during startup drafts. If the players and picks on each side of the trade offer add up to approximately the same number, the trade would be considered even. If you receive a trade offer that sends you players with a higher total number value than the players you are giving up, the offer is worth strongly considering. Each league is different, so pay close attention to the scoring and starting roster requirements specific to your league.

March player value changelog
Dynasty trade values are now being updated in real time (instead of monthly) in the dynasty trade value app. Soon, the app will also include a changelog so that you will be able to see what changes have been made when and some quick reasoning as to why the changes were made. The change log in the app will be in chronological order. As a preview of what that will look like and a way to briefly touch on all of the news from an incredibly busy month, the March changelog can be seen below in table form tracking all player value movement between March 1st and April 1st.
Please note that the log has been ordered by how much the player’s value changed over the past month.

Quick QB Thoughts
There are some passers in this class with intriguing upside but the bust risk seems higher than usual for the top prospects. Malik Willis has aced the pre-draft process and is emerging as the QB1. If he is drafted somewhere in the Top 10, we should see him emerge as the consensus 1.02 in Superflex given his rushing upside. Kenny Pickett, Matt Corral, Desmond Ridder, and Sam Howell each have a wide range of realistic outcomes in terms of both where they are drafted and how their NFL careers will play out.
Quick RB Thoughts
Aside from Breece Hall (who is looking more and more like an elite prospect), it is getting harder to generate excitement about this running back class. It is a subpar group overall and there are very few landing spots that would really move the needle after Tampa Bay, Arizona, and Miami added or retained starters in free agency.
Quick WR Thoughts
On the other hand, it is easy to get excited about this crop of rookie wide receivers. NFL teams are thirsty for talent at the position (as evidenced by some of these FA contracts) and we have another strong incoming class with some potential stars. Adding the intrigue, we now have some elite quarterbacks (Aaron Rodgers and Patrick Mahomes II) who are badly in need of new WR1s and both Green Bay and Kansas City have multiple first-round picks after the trades. This could set up some very difficult talent versus situation debates later this month. We could be weighing some top prospects who go in the Top 10 overall but to lesser offenses versus players drafted in the late 20s or early 30s who have landed in prime situations.
Quick TE Thoughts
This class lacks any elite options but there are plenty of solid mid-round options with long-term upside. We have seen mid-rounders like George Kittle and Mark Andrews emerge as elite fantasy producers in recent years, so it is good business to stockpile mid-round tight ends late in your rookie drafts. We will have plenty of candidates this year.
2023 Rookie Picks
Pick | One QB | Superflex |
Early 1st | 26 | 28 |
Mid 1st | 20 | 22 |
Late 1st | 14 | 15 |
Early 2nd | 8 | 9 |
Mid 2nd | 7 | 8 |
Late 2nd | 6 | 7 |
3rd | 5 | 6 |
4th | 4 | 5 |
With future picks coming more and more into play in dynasty trades, let’s take a first look at the potential 2023 class both in general and position-by-position.
Quarterback
Bryce Young and C.J. Stroud lead the way as likely early first-round picks. The class is deeper than normal in terms of players with the potential to move into the first-round mix with a big season. Grayson McCall, Tyler Van Dyke, Phil Jurkovec, and others are worth watching and it is safe to assume at least a couple of passers emerge as first-round picks alongside Young and Stroud.
Running Back
After a pair of below-average running back classes in 2021 and 2022, 2023 looks strong on paper. This is a group that could land plenty of guys in the second round, as we saw in 2020 (Jonathan Taylor, D'Andre Swift, Cam Akers, etc.). Bijan Robinson is the lone surefire early-round guy but Tank Bigsby, Jahmyr Gibbs, and Zach Evans have a great shot to land on Day 2, also. There is also an interesting assortment of skillsets in the next tier. You have smaller guys like Devon Achane and Jaylan Knighton who can fly. Then you have some bigger-bodied between-the-tackles types like Kendall Milton, Sean Tucker, and Zach Charbonnet. Overall, this is a strong group and we should assume that at least three or four emerge as top draft prospects. We should also see more mid-to-late Day 2 guys as we did in 2020.
Wide Receiver
Jaxson Smith-Njigba and Kayshon Boutte compare favorably to the top wide receivers this year. Both look like future first-round locks. The depth looks a bit lacking compared to the excellent classes we have been seeing, however. We will see if any players like Jermaine Burton, Adonai Mitchell, Josh Downs, or others can emerge alongside the top two as first-rounders.
Tight End
Michael Mayer looks like he could be one of the top prospects at the position in the past decade and is a likely first-rounder.
