Sunday Morning Update

Check back each Sunday Morning around 10:30 AM EST for any updates and final slate thoughts.

Injuries Create Opportunity:

  • David Njoku remains out this week with a knee injury. Harold Fannin Jr. will remain a top play at the tight end position this week.
  • Tee Higgins is questionable, but looks like he will return this week. This will limit Ja’Marr Chase’s upside after he had a 10 receptions 132 yard performance last week.
  • Quinnen Williams is questionable for Dallas with a concussion. He appears that he will be able to play, but if he is unable to go this would be a significant loss for the Cowboys rushing defense. Williams might be the best run-stopper in the NFL this season and we would see both Kimani Vidal and Omarion Hampton see an upgrade if he were out.
  • The Chiefs are a bit of a mess. Patrick Mahomes II is out for the season with an ACL injury, Rashee Rice is out with a concussion, Tyquan Thornton is out with a concussion, left tackle Juwan Johnson is out with an elbow injury, and on defense Leo Chenal and Trent McDuffie are also out. This is a mess of a team at the moment, and we have to wonder how they will show up after a very disappointing season where they were eliminated from playoff contention last week.
  • Devin Neal and Alvin Kamara are both out for New Orleans. This will leave a backfield of Audric Estime and Evan Hull. If you had to play one, Evan Hull might be the guy as he saw two red zone opportunities last week compared to Estime who did not see one.

Week 15 Recap- Win, Primary Cash Record 4-11

Week 15 was a much needed victory. The Primary Cash lineup put up 140.4, which was about 9 points ahead of the cut line in most contests last week. While there wasn’t a single player who drove the victory, there were some key landmines that were avoided, as Ken Walker III (2.4) was the primary issue for teams that did not cash last week. Fading Puka Nacua got a little bit scary at the end, especially after Davante Adams went out with a hamstring injury, but he was unable find the end-zone and the lineup held on for a win.

George Kittle and Jameson Williams were both critical, as Kittle gave a clear separation compared to the other tight ends, while Williams had 25.9 points despite being only about 65% rostered for each player.

It's been a weird season. Honestly, there have been a lot of weeks where I've felt like I had the right lineup and they've been losing weeks because of one player who was cheaper than a player I went with have a massive day (Wan'Dale Robinson, CeeDee Lamb, Saquon Barkley, Alec Pierce). On those weeks, I wouldn't have done anything differently despite losing. However, this week, playing Puka Nacua was the right move, and despite winning last week, if I could have done it all over again, I would have prioritized fitting Nacua into the lineup in what ended up being a shootout in Detroit.

Howevever it was good to see that the ball bounced my way. I'm discouraged by the results this season, but not necessarily the process. This could easily be a 9-6 season, but instead due to some just random things that have consistently gone wrong compared to past years has the lineup at 4-11. Here's to hoping that we can have a strong finish throughout the playoffs.
