Seattle at Arizona
- Zach Charbonnet returned from his foot injury. He got almost half of the running back snaps and touched the ball 14 times for 44 total yards and a score. He's not an advisable flex play against the tough Tampa run defense in Week 5, but his matchup flex value and Ken Walker III injury upside have been restored. Walker went over 100 yards and is still an upside RB2.
- Tory Horton was in the background of the Seattle pass offense after matching Cooper Kupp's snap total in Week 3 on the way to a two-touchdown (one via punt return) game. He can be dropped in redraft leagues, but remains on our waiver-wire watch list.
- The Cardinals' running game continued to have trouble putting its stamp on games as the Cardinals fell behind early. Trey Benson should bounce back against the Titans in Week 5, but we can see what a floor game looks like for him with Emari Demercado on the field and getting the touchdown during the fourth-quarter desperation comeback attempt. Benson is day-to-day after missing practice on Monday for an undisclosed reason. Demercado and Michael Carter would split the backfield work if Benson can't go in Week 5.
- Kyler Murray had a few interceptions early (one was not his fault), but played better in the fourth quarter when the offense was in hurry-up mode. He's a boom/bust QB1 against the Titans in Week 5.
- Marvin Harrison Jr. juggled a ball into Seahawks LB Ernest Jones IV's hands for an interception and looked dejected on the bench after the play. Murray stuck with him, and Harrison eventually caught a touchdown to help them get back in the game. He should be in Week 5 lineups as an upside WR3/Flex.
Minnesota vs Pittsburgh - Ireland
- Carson Wentz had a solid fantasy showing, but it was mostly in desperation fourth-quarter comeback mode. The Steelers' pass rush got to Wentz all day as the Vikings lost two more starting offensive linemen during the game. They will be without RT Brian O'Neill against Cleveland in Week 5, and maybe longer. Wentz isn't a good Week 5 streamer, but the Browns D/ST is worth a pickup.
- Jordan Mason was held in check and is only a low-ceiling flex for Week 5. Zavier Scott was the hurry-up offense back and posted a good PPR game, including a touchdown. He's a viable deep PPR league desperation play in Week 5.
- Justin Jefferson finally had a ceiling game because of the pass-first game script, but Jordan Addison also had a good fantasy showing thanks to an 81-yard play in garbage time that would have been a touchdown if Payton Wilson hadn't chased him down from behind. Addison is worth carrying through the Week 6 bye, even though he's not a good flex play against the Browns' tough pass defense.
- Kenneth Gainwell got the start with Jaylen Warren a game-time decision scratch because of a knee issue. Gainwell had the best game we've seen from a Steelers running back this season and looked like a true every-down back, even though he has only been a passing-down/change-of-pace back so far in his career. He should turn this back into an RBBC with Warren after the bye, and he might have the more valuable part of the committee after his strong performance. Be willing to spend on him on the wire.
- Aaron Rodgers passed exclusively close to the line of scrimmage, but he was protected well against the Vikings' pass rush. He's unlikely to produce much for this passing game in fantasy, but he has steadied the offense.
- DK Metcalf had a big day because he took a slant to the house for an 80-yard score. He is still just a WR3/Flex, but at least we can see what a ceiling game looks like.
- Calvin Austin III left with a shoulder injury and will likely miss time after the bye. He can be dropped in redraft leagues.
Washington at Atlanta
- Marcus Mariota was a functional passer. However, his deep shot was intercepted, and he couldn't do enough to overcome the deficit created by another poor defensive showing from Washington. He's a middling Week 5 streamer against the Chargers if Jayden Daniels is still out.
- Deebo Samuel Sr. was Mariota's clear top target with Terry McLaurin out. Consider Samuel a WR2 play in PPR if McLaurin is out again in Week 5, no matter who stars at quarterback.
- Zach Ertz did not see a target spike with McLaurin out. He's not an essential hold after starting the season with touchdowns in back-to-back games.
- Backfield snaps for Washington were split almost exactly 1/3-1/3-1/3 between Chris Rodriguez Jr., Jacory Croskey-Merritt, and Jeremy McNichols. Only Croskey-Merritt is worth a spot on our benches right now.
- Michael Penix Jr. was very good against a defense that should be a get-right game for most opposing quarterbacks. He goes into the bye with confidence and has a very manageable schedule. Penix is worth carrying through the bye in 1QB leagues.
- Darnell Mooney left with a hamstring injury, although he could still play in Week 6. Drake London dominated targets after that and had a big game, including a deep catch, a short touchdown, and a key, difficult third-down catch in the fourth quarter. We should feel a lot better about him going into the bye.
- Kyle Pitts Sr. had his best game of the season and played with more emotion than we've seen in recent years. He's a buy-high candidate during his bye and might finally pay off for fantasy at his depressed draft price this season.
LA Chargers at NY Giants
- Justin Herbert lost left tackle Joe Alt during the game and had a long afternoon as the Giants' pass rush played with extra vigor in Jaxson Dart's debut. Herbert should return to form for fantasy against the Commanders in Week 5. Put out a buy-low offer if you don't have him, and keep him in your lineup if you do, despite the disappointing result against what was supposed to be a good matchup.
- Omarion Hampton broke free from the Giants' defense twice, including a 54-yard score. He has been more productive than expected in the passing game and has the look of a league winner.
- Quentin Johnston stood out, even though the Chargers' offense overall struggled to move the ball through the air. He has emerged as the most valuable passcatcher in this offense.
- Keenan Allen wasn't a complete bust, but he didn't have much of an impact outside of the short passing game. Ladd McConkey was a lineup killer with only one catch, but expect him to have a correction game against Washington. Don't bail on him, and consider putting a buy-low offer out for him if McConkey isn't on your team.
- Oronde Gadsden's snap count went up, and Tyler Conklin is being marginalized out of the offense. It might be hard to find room for Gadsden on your redraft roster as bye weeks start, but if one of the Chargers wide receivers gets hurt, you should have Gadsden on waiver wire speed dial.
- Bad News: The Giants lost Malik Nabers for the season. Good News: Jaxson Dart looked confident and effective in his debut. Dart added a lot of value as a runner by design, including on a red zone touchdown, and he could have easily had two more passing scores against what was seen as a tough Chargers defense going into the game. Dart still deserves to be added in 1QB leagues even though he lost his #1 receiver.
- Dart just missed Darius Slayton on what would have been a 24-yard touchdown, or Slayton would be a much higher waiver priority for most people. Try to get him on the cheap. Wan'Dale Robinson couldn't quite secure a fourth-down pass in the end zone that he got his hands on, or he would have more waiver appeal. He's worth an add if roster size allows.
- Theo Johnson had a score on a shovel pass from Dart that showed nifty ball handling by the rookie, and the tight end's speed could come into play more with Nabers out. Johnson is worth an add if you need tight end help.
- Cam Skattebo didn't have a big fantasy game despite touching the ball 27 times. He's a good receiver and isn't giving back his starting job to Tyrone Tracy Jr. Bigger days are coming for him.
Tennessee at Houston
- The Titans' offense bottomed out against the best defense they have faced this season. We can't start any Titans in Week 5 outside of maybe Tony Pollard as a flex, assuming Tyjae Spears is not ready to return from injured reserve yet.
- Calvin Ridley fell to third in wide receiver snaps for Tennessee and can be dropped in redraft leagues. Rookie fourth-round pick Elic Ayomanor is the #1 receiver now and is worth a spot on the bench. Ridley could be dealt, but like Amari Cooper and DeAndre Hopkins last year, he probably would not make an impact on his next team.
- C.J. Stroud had the hoped-for bounce-back game against the flailing Titans defense. Kyler Murray and Arizona should get better against them in Week 5, while Stroud is likely to gain more momentum against the imploding Ravens offense. Stroud is worth an add as a Week 5 streamer.
- Woody Marks moved ahead of Nick Chubb in snaps and touches and asserted control of this backfield. Marks scored as a runner and as a receiver and is worth the #1 waiver priority or emptying your waiver wallet. Consider him an upside RB2 play against Baltimore.
- Christian Kirk's target total dropped significantly from Week 3. He wasn't able to do much for fantasy during Houston's best offensive showing of the season. He can be dropped in redraft leagues.
