JAX @ NYJ
- The conditions limited the Jacksonville passing game, but Trevor Lawrence was still a good play because of some big gains as a runner and a rushing touchdown, and Evan Engram was still the main man in the passing game. The Jaguars don’t gain anything by beating the Texans in Week 17, so it’s not clear if Lawrence and his wideouts will be good streamers, but Engram is a must play.
- Zach Wilson was benched (for good?) for Chris Streveler, a running quarterback, but Mike White will start Week 17 at Seattle, which makes Garrett Wilson and Elijah Moore much better plays.
- Zonovan Knight was ineffective and eventually gave way to Michael Carter. There’s no viable running back play in the Jets offense.
ATL @ BAL
- Tyler Allgeier showed his Week 15 wasn’t a fluke. He’ll be a solid RB2 play against Arizona.
- Drake London looked like a true #1 receiver and worthy of a spot, even though Desmond Ridder (who improved some from his debut) is his quarterback.
- Gus Edwards and J.K. Dobbins are in a pretty even split, so both are just what-the-heck flexes against Pittsburgh.
- Tyler Huntley was more effective overall, but this remains a low-wattage offense and probably even when Lamar Jackson returns, which may or may not be in Week 17.
DET @ CAR
- Jared Goff was a good fantasy play because the Lions played from behind all day and abandoned the running game. He’ll remain a solid streamer for Week 17 against Chicago, trying to keep the team’s playoff hopes alive.
- Jamaal Williams left with a leg injury. DAndre Swift will be a suitable RB2 play if Williams is out for Week 17, and Justin Jackson is a desperation play.
- D.J. Chark is still the top outside receiver for the Lions, and Jameson Williams' snap count isn’t going up, so Chark is the play if you have to use a Lions receiver other than Amon-Ra St. Brown
- Shane Zylstra scored three meaningless touchdowns to keep anyone in the Lions offense from having a bigger day.
- DOnta Foreman and Chuba Hubbard ran roughshod over a Lions run defense that had been one of the best in the league in the second half of the season. They’re both RB2 plays against Tampa Bay with the division lead and probably the title on the line.
- D.J. Moore has been worth a WR3/Flex since Sam Darnold took over, and Darnold looked good enough to merit a QB2/Superflex start this week.
SEA @ KC
- Geno Smith didn’t have time to throw and was ineffective without Tyler Lockett and with a banged-up Marquise Goodwin.
- Ken Walker looked healthy, but the Seahawks waited too long to light his fuse for him to affect the outcome of the game.
- Juju Smith-Schuster wasn’t a good play because the Chiefs coasted in this one and didn’t have to push it with the passing game. He’s a boom/bust WR3/Flex against Denver.
- Isiah Pacheco and Jerick McKinnon were both suitable RB2/Flex plays and should be treated as such against Denver.
NO @ CLE
- Taysom Hill and Alvin Kamar handled the conditions well, but the Saints couldn’t pass effectively in the cold and wind.
- Deshaun Watson had trouble with the conditions, too but was effective enough passing to Amari Cooper to make him a solid play.
