San Francisco at LA Rams

  • Mac Jones was outstanding in place of Brock Purdy, who will miss at least one more week after suffering a setback with his turf toe injury in Week 4. Jones will be a high-floor streaming option and good QB2/Superflex this week at Tampa
  • Kendrick Bourne set a career high in receiving yards with 142 and tied his career high in catches with 10. Ricky Pearsall and Jauan Jennings were out for this game and could return in Week 6. Bourne is a good pickup, but with George Kittle due back soon and Brandon Aiyuk not too long after that, Bourne's opportunity could be diminishing fast.
  • Jake Tonges had a very good showing for the second straight week. The longshot who started the year as a third-stringer will be a good streaming tight end play against the Bucs in Week 6, and he should be on your waiver wire.
  • Matthew Stafford had his second huge fantasy game in a row, and this time against an opponent that sometimes limits his production. He's a strong QB1 play against the reeling Ravens defense in Week 6.

Minnesota vs Cleveland - London

  • Carson Wentz was effective enough to beat a good defense, despite three starting offensive linemen being out. He will start again in Week 7 against Philadelphia after the bye. It's possible the team could stick with him even after J.J. McCarthy is healthy enough to play if they keep winning.
  • Jordan Mason fumbled and left briefly with a leg injury, but did score and add enough on the ground to be a decent RB2 play. He has one more start in Week 7 before Aaron Jones Sr. is eligible to return from injured reserve.
  • Jordan Addison was benched for the first quarter because of a disciplinary issue, but still scored the game-winning touchdown and had a solid fantasy day. He'll be a WR3/Flex for us as long as Wentz continues to start. TJ Hockenson had his third straight fantasy-relevant showing with Wentz. He, too, will remain startable as a TE1 as long as Wentz is in.
  • Dillon Gabriel did more than survive his first NFL start. He leaned on his tight ends. David Njoku and Harold Fannin Jr. both scored and accounted for over half of Gabriel's 19 completions. Njoku's value has been revived with Gabriel, as he moved back ahead of Fannin in snaps and targets after falling behind in Week 4.
  • Gabriel wasn't able to get anything going with Jerry Jeudy downfield. Jeudy isn't an essential hold given the inconsistency both behind and ahead of us.

Dallas at NY Jets

  • Ryan Flournoy had a breakout game with over 100 yards as the #3 receiver in place of KaVontae Turpin. He is only worth adding in deep leagues. This only helps Dak Prescott's rising value, but it means that Jalen Tolbert's value is questionable despite being a starter in a great pass offense.
  • George Pickens was contained by Sauce Gardner except for one long touchdown that salvaged his day. Don't worry, more ceiling games are coming for Pickens.
  • One week after his first touchdown in over a year, Jake Ferguson scored two more. He's the #1 tight end in fantasy football, and he faces one of the best matchups for tight ends in Carolina this week.
  • Justin Fields was ineffective until the game was out of hand. From the box score, it looks like he was semi-successful as a passer against the vulnerable Cowboys defense, but in reality, the pass offense had stalled out until the Cowboys built a comfortable lead. Fields has more weekly risk than his fantasy output indicates.
  • Breece Hall fumbled in the red zone and appeared to be hurt on the play, but he stayed in the game and posted a big day thanks to a run defense loosened by the threat of Fields and Hall getting steady targets from Fields in the passing game. He should be in lineups against the Broncos.
  • Mason Taylor led the team in targets and catches. The rookie tight end is a suitable streamer against the Broncos and might settle in as an every-week play given the paucity of good Jets passcatchers and the likelihood that they will play from behind most weeks.

NY Giants at New Orleans

  • Jaxson Dart got off to another good start, but then the offense fell apart with five turnovers. Dart had a good fantasy showing thanks to his running ability,  but against the Eagles on Thursday, he probably won't have Darius Slayton, who left Week 5 with a hamstring injury. Dart isn't a good Week 6 bye-replacement fantasy option, but he's rosterable in 1QB leagues where most teams carry a backup quarterback. Slayton can be dropped one week after being a hot waiver add.
  • Theo Johnson caught two touchdowns, giving him three in two games with Dart. He's a viable streamer against the Eagles, who just gave up some plays to Evan Engram in Week 5.
  • Taysom Hill returned from injured reserve and added another wrinkle to the offense. While it seemed to energize the team, Alvin Kamara's weekly ceiling gets even lower, rendering him only a flex play against the Patriots.
  • Spencer Rattler finally hit Rashid Shaheed on a deep ball. Shaheed posted an 87-yard score on the play to keep him in the weekly what-the-heck flex ranks.
  • Juwan Johnson caught a 19-yard pass from Hill, but otherwise was quiet. He'll be more inconsistent in a more balanced offense and can be dropped.

Las Vegas at Indianapolis

  • Geno Smith threw two more bad interceptions. We will see Kenny Pickett soon if this doesn't change.
  • Even with Brock Bowers out and the Raiders playing from behind for most of the game, only Tre Tucker was a mild success in this passing game. Jakobi Meyers deserves another chance in Week 6 with a good matchup against Tennessee, but he's the only one we'd consider, with Bowers trending to be out again because of his knee injury. We might not see Bowers again until after the Raiders' Week 8 bye.
  • Daniel Jones was very good, even though his fantasy contributions were ordinary. The Colts scored six offensive touchdowns. He's still a strong QB1 option against the Cardinals this week.
  • Adonai Mitchell was barely on the field, even though Alec Pierce was out after suffering a setback in his concussion recovery. Ashton Dulin replaced Pierce, but it was Josh Downs who saw the biggest bump in targets. Make sure Downs isn't on your waiver wire, as Jones is learning to trust him more.

Miami at Carolina

  • Tua Tagovailoa was actually very productive and efficient without Tyreek Hill, although the Panthers have not been a tough defensive matchup for most opponents. Tagovailoa is a suitable QB2/Superflex against the Chargers in Week 6.
  • De'Von Achane was bottled up in the running game, and Ollie Gordon II was a non-factor. It doesn't look like the Dolphins' answer to losing Hill will be establishing the run. Achane still had a decent fantasy showing thanks to a leaping touchdown catch that would make some wide receivers jealous.
  • Darren Waller came out of the gate hot and was a strong fantasy play again, getting more snaps and targets than he did in Week 4. He's a solid TE1 play against the Chargers and could have lasting value as part of the plan to replace Hill.
  • Jaylen Waddle caught a long touchdown and should be in lineups until further notice as the only target with deep speed in the Dolphins' offense.
  • Malik Washington was behind Nick Westbrook-Ikhine in snaps and didn't gain a yard on his four catches. He was a big disappointment as a possible Hill replacement and can be dropped.
  • Rico Dowdle was not going to be denied, going over 200 yards rushing in the win. Head coach Dave Canales said having two good backs is a good problem to have and that the team will have to "figure out" how they are going to proceed. Dowdle is more valuable than Chuba Hubbard as the healthier back who has demonstrated a higher ceiling this season.
