PS. Footballguys has always backed the leagues that matter most — yours.

Our Footballguys Family doesn’t disappoint — here are a couple of standout league tales so far:

I'm the only female in the league. We have three divisions: elite, bloody, and real men. The best year was when I ended up in Real Men and won the league.
When we first started 37 years ago. I remember getting the USA Today Tuesday morning and trying to figure out if I won my games. I find it funny now if the computer doesn’t give me numbers instantly, I get upset. How times have changed.

TODAY: Clayton Gray’s deep dive into how player values are shifting in high-stakes NFFC drafts reveals one clear trend — quarterbacks are climbing.

Among the biggest movers this week: Lamar Jackson surged 6 spots, Jayden Daniels climbed 4, and Bo Nix jumped 8. But which of these rising QBs most deserves the boost?

When you vote in the Poll below, you'll see the current standings, and we'll post the final results in the next edition of the Daily Update.

1. NE: Stefon Diggs unlikely to be ready in Week 1?

Source: The Athletic - Chad Graff

New England Patriots WR Stefon Diggs (knee) could 'maybe reasonably' make his debut around Week 4, in the opinion of The Athletic's Chad Graff, who writes that Diggs' recovery and return to form will be essential for QB Drake Maye to take the next step. Diggs is recovering from a torn ACL suffered on Oct. 27, 2024.

Our view: Although not yet fully cleared for all football activities, Diggs is doing plenty to impress his new teammates in New England. Reports indicate the veteran wideout has looked athletic and explosive while participating in voluntary offseason workouts. Assuming he hits the timetable outlined above, a healthy Diggs, who finished as a WR2 or better (including five WR1 finishes) every season from 2017 through 2023, could provide a boost to fantasy teams. He's currently being drafted as WR45 in Round 7 of early best balls.

2. NYG: Malik Nabers battling lingering toe issue

Source: The Bergen Record - Art Stapleton

<

New York Giants WR Malik Nabers (toe) is still rehabbing a toe injury from last season, which has bothered him since college, and he won't do much this spring. Head coach Brian Daboll said Nabers didn't have a procedure, and they're just being cautious.

Our view: Don't let the toe scare you off. Despite missing two games and playing with four different quarterbacks (Daniel Jones, Tommy DeVito, Drew Lock, and Tim Boyle), Nabers finished his first season as a pro with 109 total catches -- a rookie wide receiver record. Nabers' 273.6 fantasy points ranked sixth at the position in 2024 and ranked eighth all-time for rookies. He finished as WR6 with 18.1 points per game. He has WR1 upside any given week. That won't change this year, whether it's Russell Wilson, the pass-happy Jameis Winston, or rookie Jaxson Dart as his QB.

Today, we're diving into dynasty tight end rankings straight from our latest podcast episode. Whether you're building for the long haul or chasing immediate production, this guide breaks down the landscape, tier by tier. From elite difference-makers to sneaky buy-low candidates, these tiers include timestamps, direct quotes, and trade strategies to help you navigate your dynasty league.

Tier 1

Discussed at 2:34

"Brock Bowers is a true queen on the chessboard. He can play anywhere: in-line, slot, outside, even as a wildcat QB."
Dave, 6:11

Key Points:

  • Bowers' versatility in Chip Kelly's offense offers massive upside.
  • Trey McBride saw a 30% target share last season, sixth among all receivers.
  • While Bowers is younger, McBride may have the higher short-term production.

Trade Strategy:
If you're contending, try to acquire McBride for a discount off Bowers. If you have McBride, hold tight unless you can pivot into Bowers plus a strong asset.

Tier 2

Discussed at 6:23

"T.J. Hockenson's still just 27—tight ends don't even peak until 28. His time is now."
Dave, 8:16

Key Points:

  • LaPorta's target share dropped from 21% to 17%—a red flag.
  • Hockenson remains a high-floor option despite the Vikings' QB uncertainty.
  • George Kittle is the ultimate short-term bet: "Best tight end in football right now," but the age cliff looms.
  • Colston Loveland and Tyler Warren have more long-term insulation.

Trade Strategy:
Tier down from LaPorta to Hockenson or Lovelin and pick up a second-rounder.

3. ATL: Foot issue for Kyle Pitts

Source: Bleacher Report - James Palmer

Updating a previous report, Atlanta Falcons TE Kyle Pitts (foot) did not practice Tuesday, May 27, because a foot injury but was at the team facility.

Our view: Entering the last year of his rookie contract after the Falcons picked up his fifth-year option last spring, Pitts is set to make $10.878 million in 2025. He caught 68 passes for 1,026 yards with a touchdown as a rookie in 2021 but hasn't hit those numbers since. Last year, Pitts caught 47 passes for 602 yards with four touchdowns while playing all 17 games. In other words, Pitts' best chances of getting paid lie in being healthy and more productive than he has been in recent years.

4. GB: Christian Watson ahead of schedule

Source: PackersWire - Mark Oldacres

Green Bay Packers WR Christian Watson (knee) is ahead of schedule in his recovery from a torn anterior cruciate ligament, according to head coach Matt LaFleur.

Our view: Since Watson suffered his season-ending injury in the 2024 regular-season finale against the Chicago Bears, being ahead of schedule doesn't ensure the wideout will make it back on the field in 2025. As previously noted, the Packers added Matthew Golden in the first round of April's NFL Draft and Savion Williams in the third round, bolstering their depth at the position. Given the first-round capital invested in Golden, Watson's future in Green Bay beyond 2025 -- the final year of his rookie deal -- might also become uncertain.

5. HOU: Joe Mixon not at practice

Source: Click2Houston.com - Aaron Wilson

Houston Texans RB Joe Mixon (undisclosed) did not participate in practice Wednesday, May 28. He was recently seen wearing a walking boot because of a minor injury, according to a source.

Our view: KPRC2's Aaron Wilson, in making the initial report, downplayed the severity and suggested Mixon would be ready for training camp. Despite missing three games with an ankle injury, Mixon's 1,016 rushing yards last season marked his fourth time crossing the threshold. He also ran for 11 touchdowns, the second-most in his career, and his 4.1 yards per carry were a step up from the season prior. Mixon added another 309 yards on 36 receptions and finished as RB10. He is being drafted as RB16 with the 51st pick overall in early best balls.

6. LAR: Kyren Williams moving closer to new deal

Source: NFL.com

Los Angeles Rams RB Kyren Williams is making progress in contract extension talks with the team, according to head coach Sean McVay.

Our view: According to SI.com, Williams needs a big season for him to earn another payday. His numbers have increased each season, and it wouldn't be entirely shocking if he were to do so again. A career year for a Los Angeles team vying for another shot at the Lombardi Trophy could give Williams a contract in the $10 million average annual value range, putting him among the highest-paid running backs in the NFL. For fantasy investors, Williams making good on his Footballguys 2025 Projection -- RB8 -- would be great since he's being drafted as RB12 in early best balls.

7. NYG: Russell Wilson No. 1 quarterback Wednesday

Source: ESPN.com - Jordan Raanan

New York Giants QB Russell Wilson received most of the work with the first-team offense during practice Wednesday, May 28.

Our view: While Wilson took most of the first-team snaps, rookie Jaxson Dart and Jameis Winston also snuck in a few. Tommy DeVito fit in for four third-team reps throughout the practice. "They'll all get reps," coach Brian Daboll said of the plan for the QBs this spring. But make no mistake: Wilson is expected to begin the season as New York's starter after signing a one-year deal with the franchise in March. Even at that, holding on to the job will likely depend on overall team success. Because of that, Wilson opens as QB30 on the Footballguys 2025 Projections.

8. NE: Kyle Williams could push for starting role

Source: The Athletic - Chad Graff

New England Patriots WR Kyle Williams is the team's 'X-factor' at receiver, in the opinion of The Athletic's Chad Graff, who writes that the rookie 'excels off the line of scrimmage, was great against man coverage in college and wins downfield,' which Graff notes were 'three traits the Patriots sorely lacked last season.' Graff adds that 'a lot rides on Williams' development,' as he could become a starter opposite WR Stefon Diggs (knee) with WR Demario Douglas in the slot.

Our view: While we have Diggs (as WR39) and Douglas (as WR76) as our highest projected Patriots receivers for redraft, Williams is absolutely as described by The Athletic. Footballguy Cecil Lammey notes that Williams has the speed to flip the field on any catch. Given that, Williams is WR8 on the Footballguys Rookie Rankings.
