Cincinnati Bengals QB Joe Flacco (shoulder) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Oct. 29.
Footballguys view: There's a chance the Bengals could be going back to Jake Browning at quarterback. That's not great Bob, so they'll do their best to see if Flacco can play through this injury (like he did in part of Week 8's game). Flacco is a seasoned veteran, so he doesn't need every practice rep to be ready.

New England Patriots RB Rhamondre Stevenson (toe) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Oct. 29.
Footballguys view: We're unsure of the severity of this injury. However, there are rumblings the Patriots will be looking to add a running back before next Thursday's trade deadline. Let's see if Stevenson can get out there on Friday.

Miami Dolphins WR Malik Washington (knee) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Oct. 29, and is not on the injury report for Week 9.
Footballguys view: Washington brings speed and big-play ability when he's out there for the Dolphins. He's in line to play on Thursday night against the Ravens, and Fantasy GMs in deep leagues can consider him a 'what the heck' flex.
Miami Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa (illness, thumb) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Oct. 29, and is not on the injury report for Week 9.
Footballguys view: Tagovailoa is coming off a four-touchdown game in the win over the Falcons last week. He's going to continue wearing a visor on his helmet, something he's credited with giving him better vision. We've got him as a QB2 against the Ravens on Thursday night.

OT Taylor Decker (shoulder), CB Avonte Maddox (hamstring), DE Al-Quadin Muhammad (hamstring), LB Malcolm Rodriguez (knee), S Daniel Thomas (forearm) and RB Sione Vaki (groin) were limited during practice. CB Terrion Arnold (shoulder) fully participated in practice. The Lions did not hold a practice Wednesday, so the report is an estimation.

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson (hamstring) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Oct. 29, and is not on the injury report for Week 9. The Ravens only held a walkthrough Wednesday, so his practice participation an estimation.
Footballguys view: Jackson is back this week...we hope. Things were trending for him to return in Week 8, then the Ravens pulled the plug and started Tyler Huntley. The Ravens play the Dolphins on Thursday night, and Jackson is in line to produce like his usual QB1.

Chicago Bears RB D'Andre Swift (groin) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Oct. 29.
Footballguys view: That's about right for Swift on Wednesdays. He's playing with this groin injury and producing as the Bears' lead back. This week against the Bengals, we like Swift as an RB1/RB2 option for Fantasy GMs.

Cleveland Browns TE David Njoku might be a potential trade option heading into the NFL trade deadline, especially with the emergence of rookie TE Harold Fannin Jr. Njoku played in Week 8 against the New England Patriots, after missing the previous game with a knee ailment. He played just 32 offensive snaps, to 40 for Fannin.
Footballguys view: There are plenty of teams who would be interested in Njoku. The trade deadline is next Thursday, and contenders could look to Njoku as a key piece for a postseason run. He's set to be an unrestricted free agent in 2026, so Njoku might just be a rental for 2025 ...but a very valuable one.

Carolina Panthers RB Chuba Hubbard has rotated with RB Rico Dowdle in two games since returning from a calf injury. Head coach Dave Canales appears ready to abandon the rotation in favor of Dowdle. 'Chuba has meant a lot to this organization and certainly to the identity of what we want to build and we wanted to give him the opportunity to go out there and to continue to impact our team in a positive way,' Canales said Tuesday, Oct. 28. 'But we cannot ignore the fact Rico has been exceptional.'
Footballguys view: Hubbard is not as explosive as Dowdle is, and the team has to recognize that. We still see Hubbard having flex appeal for the Panthers if/when Dowdle takes over in the backfield.

Atlanta Falcons QB Michael Penix Jr. (knee) is expected to receive the bulk of the repetitions in practice this week, according to head coach Raheem Morris.
Footballguys view: Kirk Cousins is not someone the Falcons can count on anymore. Penix needs to get healthy and get out there asap...and then OC Zac Robinson needs to put together a better (and less predictable) offense. Let's see how much Penix can do in practice this week as the Falcons prepare for Sunday's game against the Patriots.
Miami Dolphins WR Cedrick Wilson Jr. played 22 snaps in Week 8 against the Atlanta Falcons, as offensive coordinator Frank Smith said the team likes his 'intensity' and 'toughness'. While that's good, his role in the offense remains a bit limited.
Footballguys view: Let's just put a pin in this to see if Wilson can get more work. The Dolphins may trade away WR Jaylen Waddle, so that would open up the door for others like Wilson in the passing game.
Cedrick Wilson Jr. player page
Miami Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa (eye) has seen his eye issue improve, but he plans to stick with his visor heading into the Week 9 game against the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday, Oct. 30.
Footballguys view: Whatever works, right? Tagovailoa completed 20-of-26 passes for 205 yards and four touchdowns in the Dolphins' 34-10, Week 8 win over the Falcons. Tagovailoa is trying to build momentum off that game, and he's keeping the visor on. Let's see if that really helps him see things better against a Ravens team looking to make a run.

Updating a previous report, Carolina Panthers QB Bryce Young (ankle) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Oct. 29.
Footballguys view: Young is considered day-to-day with this ankle injury. A full participation on Wednesday is a good sign for his return in Week 9. Andy Dalton started last week and was not great, so Young's return will be welcomed by the Panthers. Let's make sure Young doesn't have any setbacks in practice this week.

Green Bay Packers WR Dontayvion Wicks (calf) is not participating in practice Wednesday, Oct. 29.
Footballguys view: Wicks didn't play in Week 8 against the Steelers. The Packers got Christian Watson back out there in Week 8, so they're not in any hurry to get Wicks out there.
Dontayvion Wicks player page
Minnesota Vikings QB J.J. McCarthy (ankle) has cleared every hurdle, according to head coach Kevin O'Connell. He will start for the team against the Detroit Lions in Week 9.
Footballguys view: O'Connell wanted McCarthy to be at full strength for his return. McCarthy, a first-round pick in 2024, has failed to impress in limited playing time. He's a work in progress who gets to throw to Justin Jefferson. In his first game back, we can only recommend McCarthy as a QB2.

Carolina Panthers RB Rico Dowdle appears to be in line for a bulk of the carries, and head coach Dave Canales indicated that the two-week rotation with RB Chuba Hubbard could be abandoned. 'We love tempo and violence that he is running with,' Canales said Tuesday, Oct. 28. 'These are things we are looking back on the last four games and really taking a snapshot of what has been successful for us.'
Footballguys view: Dowdle is producing more than Chuba Hubbard, and the Panthers are moving to adjust their plan. That means Dowdle could be in line for more work, and Hubbard will serve more as a reserve. Keeping that in mind, Fantasy GMs should consider Dowdle an RB2/flex option and Hubbard as a RB3/deep flex play.

Las Vegas Raiders QB Aidan O'Connell's (wrist) 21-day practice window opened Wednesday, Oct. 29, as he was designated to return from the Reserve/Injured list.
Footballguys view: With the struggles of the offense under Geno Smith, there's a chance we could see O'Connell later this year. Keep this in mind when playing in deeper start-2QB/superflex leagues.
