Colts | Alec Pierce a full participant Thu Oct 16, 03:51 PM
Indianapolis Colts WR Alec Pierce (ankle) fully participated in practice Thursday, Oct. 16.
Footballguys view: Good news for the Colts here. They've got a big one against the Chargers in Week 7, and Pierce can help make big plays for QB Daniel Jones. Pierce missed two games with a concussion, but he returned last week. He caught 2-of-4 targets for 48 yards in the Colts' Week 6 win over the Cardinals. Fantasy GMs should consider him a deep flex in Week 7. |
Indianapolis Colts WR Josh Downs (concussion), DT Grover Stewart (rest), CB Charvarius Ward (concussion), WR Ashton Dulin (chest), and RB Tyler Goodson (ankle) did not practice on Thursday, Oct. 16. CB Kenny Moore II (Achilles) was limited in practice. WR Alec Pierce (ankle) and OT Braden Smith (rest) practiced in full.

Indianapolis Colts WR Josh Downs (concussion) will not practice on Thursday, Oct. 16.
Footballguys view: Friday is a big day for Downs as he works through the NFL's concussion protocol. However, even if he is a full participant on Friday, Downs will have to pass further tests in order to play. The Colts might go to Adonai Mitchell again if Downs has to miss time. |

Indianapolis Colts RB Jonathan Taylor leads the NFL with 603 rushing yards and has seven touchdowns.
Footballguys view: Taylor's 123 yards and a rushing touchdown helped the Colts survive a close game against Arizona in Week 6. He racked up 21 carries, averaging just under six yards per attempt. He also hauled in four receptions for 14 yards. He has now recorded seven rushing touchdowns and eight total touchdowns this season. Taylor has been a big part of the team's overall offensive success. Indianapolis has four games of 30-plus points, and neither Taylor nor the Colts, who face the Chargers in Week 7, has shown signs of slowing down. |

Following up on previous items . . . The Colts placed QB Anthony Richardson Sr. on injured reserve due to his fractured orbital bone. He will miss a minimum of four games.
Footballguys view: Rookie Riley Leonard, a sixth-round pick from Notre Dame, is the only remaining quarterback on the roster. The Colts will reportedly consider signing a veteran to back up Daniel Jones. But given the lack of options in free agency, Leonard is under consideration for the job. The Colts travel to Los Angeles for a Week 7 matchup with the Chargers on Sunday. |

Indianapolis Colts QB Anthony Richardson (eye) will miss at least one week after suffering a fractured orbital bone during pregame warmups Sunday, Oct. 12, according to head coach Shane Steichen.
Footballguys view: According to ESPN.com's Stephen Holder, Richardson could miss multiple games, and the Colts are deliberating on how to proceed in Richardson's absence. Rookie Riley Leonard, a sixth-round pick from Notre Dame, is the only remaining quarterback on the roster. The Colts, according to Holder, will consider signing a veteran to back up Daniel Jones depending on Richardson's timeline. But given the dearth of options in free agency, Leonard is under consideration for the job. The Colts, who lead the NFL in scoring at 32.3 points per game, travel to Los Angeles for a Week 7 matchup with the Chargers on Sunday. |

Indianapolis Colts LB Germaine Pratt was credited with 11 tackles -- eight solo -- against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 6.

Colts backup quarterback Anthony Richardson Sr., before even leaving the locker room, sustained a bizarre injury while using elastic bands to stretch for the game. The incident left Richardson with an orbital fracture, according to coach Shane Steichen, and required hospitalization. A source told ESPN that Richardson was also expected to need stitches.
Footballguys view: The specifics are murky, but the incident happened when an apparatus that players use to attach the warm-up bands malfunctioned, resulting in an impact on Richardson's face. Richardson was inactive for the 31-27 victory over Arizona and could miss more time. No. 3 quarterback Riley Leonard is the primary backup "right now," Steichen said. All that was compounded by another pregame situation when No. 1 cornerback Charvarius Ward accidentally collided with tight end Drew Ogletree during on-field warmups, leaving Ward concussed and unable to play. The pregame mishaps left the Colts unsettled, but they managed to get the win. |

Link to storyIndianapolis Colts WR Michael Pittman caught two of his three targets for 20 yards in a 31-27 win over the Arizona Cardinals in Week 6.
Footballguys view: Pittman had his worst fantasy showing of the season, but his offense was still very productive, so you shouldn't be too worried. He still should be in lineups as a WR3/Flex against the Chargers next week, especially in PPR leagues. |

Indianapolis Colts WR Josh Downs caught six of his seven targets for 42 yards and a touchdown in a 31-27 win over the Arizona Cardinals in Week 6.
Footballguys view: Downs has caught six balls in back-to-back games as Daniel Jones is looking his way more often. Downs was a big part of the drive that Tyler Warren finished with a touchdown, and then later he got a touchdown of his own. He's got flex appeal in leagues that start three wide receivers and a flex against the Chargers next week. |

Indianapolis Colts TE Tyler Warren caught six of his season-high nine targets for 63 yards and a touchdown in a 31-27 win over the Arizona Cardinals in Week 6.
Footballguys view: Warren has been consistent and the plays the team is drawing for him are working. He has been part of the biggest offensive success story in the league, and many strong first halves of the fantasy football regular season. He'll face a Chargers defense that gave up a score to Darren Waller in Week 6. |
Indianapolis Colts RB Jonathan Taylor ran 21 times for 123 yards and a touchdown while adding four catches on four targets for 14 yards in a 31-27 win over the Arizona Cardinals in Week 6.
Footballguys view: The Colts relied heavily on Taylor on the go-ahead drive, which he capped with the game-winning touchdown. A ceiling game is possible next week against a Chargers defense that has been lit up by De'Von Achane and Jacory Croskey-Merritt for over 100 yards and two scores each of the last two weeks. |

Indianapolis Colts QB Daniel Jones completed 22-of-30 for 212 yards with two touchdowns against one interception, and added 20 yards on five carries and a touchdown in a 31-27 win over the Arizona Cardinals in Week 6.
Footballguys view: The Cardinals had one of the better scoring defenses in the league going into Week 6, but the Colts still scored 31 and Jones was steady even after throwing a bad interception when he didn't see linebacker Mack Wilson on one of his few poor decisions in this game. He's a strong QB1 heading into a matchup with a Chargers defense that has given up 27 points in each of the last two games. |

Updating previous reports, Indianapolis Colts WR Alec Pierce will play in Week 6's game against the Arizona Cardinals after clearing concussion protocol, according to head coach Shane Steichen.
Footballguys view: Pierce missed two games with this concussion, but now he's back out there for Week 6. That means Pierce could cut into some of the looks for Josh Downs. Both players are deep flex options, perhaps even to the what-the-heck-flex level for Sunday's game. |
Updating a previous report, Indianapolis Colts LB Joe Bachie (foot) has not been ruled out for the 2025 season despite being placed on the Reserve/Injured list earlier this week, according to head coach Shane Steichen.

Indianapolis Colts WR Alec Pierce (concussion) fully participated in practice Friday, Oct. 10, and is not on the injury report for Week 6.
Footballguys view: Alec Pierce has missed a couple of games since his scary concussion. Adonai Mitchell played in his role in Week 4, but fumbled that opportunity away. Ashton Dulin stepped in for Week 5. The Colts will be relieved to have their starting wideout back for Week 6. |

Indianapolis Colts PK Spencer Shrader (knee) suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament and a torn medial collateral ligament during the Week 5 game, according to head coach Shane Steichen.
Footballguys view: Shrader, who entered Week 5 leading the NFL with 13 made field goals, sustained the injury during an extra point attempt in the second quarter of the Colts' 40-6 victory. The play resulted in a personal foul for roughing the kicker. The Colts have relied heavily on Shrader this season, as they have been one of the most prolific offenses in the NFL. No other kicker had more than 10 field goals entering Sunday. The Colts do not currently have another kicker on their practice squad. Expect them to work out free-agent kickers this week. |

Link to storyIndianapolis Colts WR Michael Pittman Jr. registered five receptions for 39 yards and a touchdown on six targets in Week 5 against the Las Vegas Raiders.
Link to storyIndianapolis Colts TE Tyler Warren registered four receptions for 44 yards and a touchdown on his four targets in Week 5 against the Las Vegas Raiders.
Footballguys view: Warren actually threw a pass in the red zone this week, but it was unsuccessful. Just about everything else the Colts tried worked in the romp over the Raiders. Warren is a strong TE1 heading into a matchup with the Cardinals. |
Indianapolis Colts WR Josh Downs posted six receptions for a season-high 54 yards on eight targets in Week 5 against the Las Vegas Raiders.
Footballguys view: Downs wasn't a huge play, but with Alec Pierce out, he played a bigger role in the pass offense and looked spry exploiting the space in the Raiders pass defense. The Colts offense is one of the best in the league, and we know what Downs can do if given the opportunity. He's a great player to have stashed on your bench in PPR leagues. |

Link to storyIndianapolis Colts RB Jonathan Taylor ran 17 times for 66 yards in Week 5 against the Las Vegas Raiders, and he finished with three rushing touchdowns. He added three receptions for 20 yards on four targets.
Footballguys view: Taylor is neck-and-neck with Christian McCaffrey to be the most valuable running back in PPR leagues, and he's the king of .5 PPR leagues after this dominant outing for the Colts offense. |
