Detroit Lions QB Jared Goff completed 23 of his 29 passes for 203 yards and two touchdowns in a 30-17 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 6.
Footballguys view: Goff had a touchdown reception from running back David Montgomery taken off the board on Detroit's opening drive by an illegal motion penalty on the trick play where Goff motioned from under center out wide before receiving a pass from Montgomery. Still, Goff has a passing touchdown in 12 straight games, which is the longest streak of his career. He played well, but the offense couldn't find a groove in the second half. The Lions will face the Buccaneers in Detroit on Monday Night Football in Week 7. |

Footballguys view: St. Brown put the panic from Wednesday's DNP to rest when he returned in a full capacity on Thursday. There's no reason to expect any limitations in this primetime matchup against the Chiefs. St. Brown is the per-game WR2 behind only Puka Nacua. |

Updating an earlier report, Detroit Lions CB Terrion Arnold (shoulder) received a second opinion that determined his shoulder injury isn't as bad as feared, and he could be back within a month.
Footballguys view: It was initially thought that Arnold could be out for the season. Head coach Dan Campbell had said on Monday that Arnold would be out for "a long time" before the cornerback received a second opinion. The No. 24 pick of the 2024 draft, Arnold has recorded four passes defensed in five games so far this season. As a rookie, he tallied 10 passes defensed, a fumble recovery, and 60 total tackles. |

Detroit Lions RB Jahmyr Gibbs rushed 12 times for 54 yards and caught two passes for 33 yards and a touchdown in a 37-24 win over the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 5.
Footballguys view: Gibbs and running mate David Montgomery now have 14 games in which they both have scored a TD, which ties the most for a running back duo in NFL history with Cowboys backs Emmitt Smith and Daryl Johnston. They'll try to add to their total against the Chiefs in Week 6. |

Detroit Lions RB David Montgomery rushed 18 times for 65 yards and a touchdown, threw a three-yard touchdown pass and caught a six-yard pass in a 37-24 win over the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 5.
Footballguys view: Montgomery, a native of Cincinnati, wowed his hometown with the touchdown pass, thrown from Wildcat formation, and his score on the ground. It was a great rebound after Montgomery struggled against the Browns last week. In addition, Montgomery and his backfield mate Jahmyr Gibbs now have 14 games in which they both have scored a TD, which ties the most for a running back duo in NFL history with Cowboys backs Emmitt Smith and Daryl Johnston. Detroit Lions QB Jared Goff completed 19 of his 23 passes for 258 yards and three touchdowns in a 37-24 win over the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 5.
Footballguys view: It was an efficient and effective performance for Goff, who avoided interceptions to finish with a 153.0 passer rating. He lost a fumble and was sacked four times in the game, but for the most part, fantasy investors got what they needed from the QB. Goff and the Lions face the Chiefs in Week 6. |

Detroit Lions WR Jameson Williams finished with two receptions for 40 yards in Week 4 against the Cleveland Browns despite a team-high eight targets.
Footballguys view: Williams getting eight targets was promising after he only had 12 in three games going into Week 4, but he dropped one deep ball and couldn't break through for a week-tilting big play against the Browns. We'd expect that to change next week against the hapless Bengals defense. |
Detroit Lions WR Amon-Ra St. Brown posted seven receptions for 70 yards and two touchdowns on seven targets in Week 4 against the Cleveland Browns.
Footballguys view: The Lions continue to scheme plays near the goal line that create laughably easy touchdowns for St. Brown. He could easily have his third multi-touchdown game of the season in Week 5 at Cincinnati. |

Detroit Lions RB David Montgomery rushed nine times for just 12 yards in Week 4 against the Cleveland Browns, while going without a reception on a lone target.
Footballguys view: Montgomery was a week winner against the Ravens on Monday night, but it was no surprise to see the Browns bottle up his straight ahead style. Get Montgomery back in your lineup as a flex next week at Cincinnati. |
