RB James Cook's playing time in the Bills' Monday night loss to the Falcons became a topic of conversation for the team's coaching staff. Cook ran 17 times for 87 yards in the 24-14 loss, but only played 30 of the team's 57 offensive snaps. That's his second-lowest snap percentage of the season -- the lowest was in a blowout win over the Jets -- and head coach Sean McDermott said on Tuesday that Cook's usage is something he's discussed with offensive coordinator Joe Brady. "Joe and I have already talked about that to some extent today. It's important to keep in mind going forward," McDermott said, via Justin Siejak of News4Buffalo.
Footballguys view: Cook was not on the field for any of the team's third-down snaps, including a third-and-one the Bills failed to convert when an end-around to wide receiver Elijah Moore fizzled out. McDermott said he's confident in Brady's work calling plays, but that "whatever play we call, we call, we have to execute it at a higher level." We'll see if they choose to call more for Cook once they return from their Week 7 bye. |
Buffalo Bills WR Joshua Palmer (ankle) caught two passes for 60 yards against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 6 before leaving the game because of an ankle injury. He was targeted two times during the game.
Footballguys view: Palmer was leading the Bills with two receptions for 60 yards when he was injured. He made a 45-yard catch on the Bills' first play from scrimmage. Palmer was initially ruled questionable to return but was downgraded to out at halftime. |

Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen went 15-for-26 for 180 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 6. He also rushed for 42 yards on six carries during the game.
Footballguys view: The Bills continue to make sloppy mistakes (eight penalties accepted against them Monday night for 64 yards), their defense is struggling mightily, and the offense is far too reliant on Allen, who looked very human against Atlanta's defense. They've been outclassed by two teams previously considered to be inferior in the last two weeks, and every team they've beaten owns a losing record (and none won in Week 6). The Bills have a bye this coming week, and it couldn't come at a better time for much-needed rest. |

Buffalo Bills TE Dalton Kincaid (oblique) was limited during practice Saturday, Oct. 11, and is listed as questionable for Week 6.
Footballguys view: Limited all week in practice, Kincaid appears good enough to go on Monday night against the Falcons. Fantasy GMs can rely on him as a TE1 in Week 6 so long as he plays. Make sure to keep a close on eye him Monday night in case the team decides to shut him down. |

Buffalo Bills TE Dalton Kincaid (oblique) was limited during practice Friday, Oct. 10.
Footballguys view: With the Bills playing on Monday night, Kincaid will have one more chance to log a full practice on Saturday after back-to-back limited days to start the week. Kincaid has been red-hot, catching touchdowns in three of the first five games this year and logging a career-high 108 yards just last week. Assuming he's active, start him as a TE1. Hopefully, we'll get some clarity on Saturday. But Kincaid's managers should preemptively stash Kyle Pitts, Zach Ertz, or Cole Kmet as last-minute pivots on Monday night, just in case. |

Buffalo Bills TE Dalton Kincaid caught six passes for a team-high 108 yards in a 23-20 loss to the New England Patriots in Week 5.
Footballguys view: Kincaid's six catches Sunday night tied a season high. It was his first 100-yard receiving game as a pro. His previous high in the NFL was 87 receiving yards in the second-to-last regular-season game of his rookie season in 2023. Kincaid now has 20 receptions for 287 receiving yards and three touchdowns through five games. His 287 receiving yards are currently second among NFL tight ends, trailing only Indianapolis rookie Tyler Warren (307). His three touchdown receptions are also tied for third at the position, trailing only Seattle's A.J. Barner and Philadelphia's Dallas Goedert, who both have four. |
