Chiefs | Hollywood Brown able to practice Sun Aug 31, 02:11 PM
Kansas City Chiefs WR Hollywood Brown (ankle) was able to practice Sunday, Aug. 31, and head coach Andy Reid said the veteran receiver 'should be fine' for the regular-season opener. Brown missed time in training camp and the preseason due to an ankle injury.
Footballguys view: Brown is worth drafting in typical leagues to see if he gets off to a hot start with Rashee Rice suspended and fourth round rookie Jalen Royals likely out for at least Week 1 with a knee issue. The Chiefs also have veterans JuJu Smith-Schuster and Tyquan Thornton, so it's possible that he is eased back into the lineup in the season opener in Brazil vs. the Chargers. |

Footballguys view: The Chiefs plan to play their starters in their final preseason game, but head coach Andy Reid said that there's been no decision about whether Brown could be among them. "We'll see how he progresses through this thing," Reid said. "He's taking it slow, and we don't want any setbacks." Brown was limited to five games last season, so it's easy to understand why the Chiefs want to avoid further absences. Given the uncertainty about how long Rashee Rice will be available, it's all the more important for Brown to be on the field this fall. |

Link to storyKansas City Chiefs WR Rashee Rice has received clearance to travel with the team and enter Brazil for their Week 1 game versus the Los Angeles Chargers, according to a source.
Footballguys view: Back in July, Rice pleaded guilty to a pair of felonies in relation to a multi-car crash. There was a concern that Rice might not be allowed into Brazil based on that country's policies, but all is cleared now. Rice is still facing a suspension, but the league is going to hold a disciplinary hearing on September 30th. After that, we'll know how long Rice is suspended with most expecting him to miss about a month. Stay tuned. |

Kansas City Chiefs WR Rashee Rice's disciplinary hearing with the league is scheduled for Sept. 30.
Footballguys view: This means Rice will play in the first four games. He should still get a 4-6 game suspension, but he'll serve it later in the season. Of course, it's the NFL discipline process, so nothing is certain, but we would process as if Rice will miss games during the middle of the season instead of at the beginning. |

Kansas City Chiefs WR Rashee Rice (groin) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Aug. 6, because of a groin injury.
Footballguys view: Rice is coming back from the knee injury he suffered in Week 4 last year, and now he has to treat this groin problem. The injury is not a huge concern at this point, but it's something Fantasy GMs should be monitoring for the rest of the month. Rice has a current ADP of WR21, but he's got the upside to push for WR1 numbers on that offense if he's healthy. |
