Cleveland Browns TE David Njoku (knee) is considered 'day-to-day' according to head coach Kevin Stefanski. He will not practice on Wednesday, Oct. 15.
Footballguys view: Harold Fannin is there to do more if Njoku needs some time to rest. A day-to-day designation means he's in the mix to practice at some point this week. Stay tuned. |

Cleveland Browns QB Deshaun Watson (Achilles) is at least a month away from being cleared for any activities, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Footballguys view: Watson can be cleared for activity later this year, but who knows if he's going to start any games for the Browns in 2025. With two Achilles' injuries in the last year, Watson just may never be the same quarterback. Dillon Gabriel is the starter for the foreseeable future. |

Cleveland Browns WR David Bell retired on Tuesday, Oct. 14, after a surgical complication from an offseason procedure performed by an independent surgeon, according to Bell's lawyer.

Cleveland Browns TE Harold Fannin Jr. posted a game-high seven receptions for a team-best 81 yards on 10 targets in Week 6 against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Footballguys view: David Njoku missed time with a knee injury, so Fannin was the main tight end target for a young quarterback that likes to target tight ends. We'll be monitoring Njoku's status, but Fannin should be added on the waiver wire in PPR leagues in any event if you need a tight end. |
Cleveland Browns RB Dylan Sampson ran three times for 12 yards in Week 6 against the Pittsburgh Steelers, while adding two receptions for 12 yards. He also had five kick returns for 124 yards.
Link to storyCleveland Browns RB Jerome Ford rushed twice for 17 yards in Week 6 against the Pittsburgh Steelers, and he added five receptions for 13 yards on six targets. He also had one kickoff return for 22 yards.
Link to storyCleveland Browns RB Quinshon Judkins rushed 12 times for 36 yards in Week 6 against the Pittsburgh Steelers, and he went without a reception on one target.
Footballguys view: Judkins was shut down by the Steelers improving run defense, and he didn't catch a ball despite his quarterback throwing 52 times. He should still be in lineups next week against a Dolphins defense that just allowed Kimani Vidal's breakout game. |
Cleveland Browns QB Dillon Gabriel completed 29-of-52 passes for 221 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions in Week 6 against the Pittsburgh Steelers in his first NFL start in North America. He did not have a rushing attempt.
Link to storyCleveland Browns WR Gage Larvadain (head) left the Week 6 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers due to an apparent head injury.
Footballguys view: He was helped to the sidelines and then to the locker room after taking a shot to the helmet after a reception. He had two receptions for 22 yards on four targets before departing. Larvadain did not return. The Browns play the Dolphins this week. |
Cleveland Browns TE David Njoku (knee) left the Week 6 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers in the second half due to an apparent knee injury.
Footballguys view: He limped off, grabbing at his knee, before being helped to the locker room by the training staff. He had three receptions for 28 yards on six targets before departing. We'll see if Njoku is ready to play in Week 7 against the Dolphins. Harold Fannin Jr. should be a waiver wire pickup in most leagues with Njoku injured. |

Cleveland Browns TE David Njoku (knee) fully participated in practice Friday, Oct. 10, and is not on the injury report for Week 6.
Footballguys view: Njoku is coming off his best game of the season, coinciding with the first career start for rookie Dillon Gabriel. The passing offense last week focused on the tight ends, during which Njoku logged season highs in targets, receptions, and yards while scoring his first touchdown. He's a low-end TE1 option for streamers this week against the Steelers. |

Cleveland Browns TE David Njoku (knee) fully participated in practice Thursday, Oct. 9.
Footballguys view: Rookie QB Dillon Gabriel likes throwing to the tight ends (both Njoku and Harold Fannin). Njoku caught 6-of-9 targets for 67 yards and a touchdown in the Browns' Week 5 loss to the Vikings. This week against the Steelers, Njoku could post TE2 (with upside) numbers for Fantasy GMs. |

Cleveland Browns QB Shedeur Sanders is not a lock to be the team's backup quarterback as head coach Kevin Stefanski said he'd wait until later in the week to make the decision.
Footballguys view: The Browns are a mess (again). They could have Sanders as the no.3 quarterback because the gameplan for him would be much different from starter Dillon Gabriel. We could see Bailey Zappe called up from the practice squad to be the primary backup if they don't want it to be Sanders. |
Cleveland Browns QB Joe Flacco and a sixth-round draft pick were traded to the Cincinnati Bengals Tuesday, Oct. 7, in exchange for a fifth-round draft pick.
Footballguys view: Flacco became expendable in Cleveland after the Browns benched the veteran for rookie Dillon Gabriel ahead of their Week 5 game against the Minnesota Vikings. Flacco went 1-3 as a starter in four games for Cleveland, throwing two touchdowns to six interceptions. Now, the Browns get a higher draft pick, while opening the door for an all-rookie depth chart with Shedeur Sanders backing up Gabriel. |

Cleveland Browns QB Deshaun Watson (Achilles) will not be cleared to practice this week, according to head coach Kevin Stefanski.
Footballguys view: NFL Network's Ian Rapoport noted this weekend that Cleveland benching Joe Flacco in favor of Dillon Gabriel likely signaled that the team was entering evaluation mode -- trying to get an understanding of what their other quarterbacks are capable of. If the Browns elect to keep Watson on their roster, which they will, as his entire 2026 salary is fully guaranteed, seeing him on the field would add to that evaluation. But Rapoport reported that Watson playing in 2025 is considered unlikely, especially after owner Jimmy Haslam called the trade "a big swing and a miss" this offseason. |

Cleveland Browns LB Carson Schwesinger collected 12 tackles (two solo) versus the Minnesota Vikings in Week 5.
Link to storyCleveland Browns TE Harold Fannin Jr. caught four passes for 13 yards and one touchdown against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 5. He was targeted four times during the game.
Footballguys view: Fannin moved ahead of David Njoku in every significant statistic last week, but Njoku re-asserted himself with new starting quarterback Dillon Gabriel. Fannin's early score made him a decent fantasy play, but Njoku's chemistry with Njoku could cap Fannin's value growth in his rookie season. |
Cleveland Browns WR Jerry Jeudy caught two passes for 15 yards against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 5. He was targeted five times during the game.

Cleveland Browns WR Isaiah Bond caught two passes for 29 yards against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 5. He was targeted seven times during the game.
Link to storyCleveland Browns TE David Njoku caught six passes for 67 yards and one touchdown against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 5. He was targeted nine times during the game.
Footballguys view: Njoku was the clear top target for rookie quarterback Dillon Gabriel in the third round pick's NFL debut. Harold Fannin - another 2025 third round pick (who also scored, but only gained 13 yards on his four receptions) was overshadowing Njoku coming into Week 5, but Njoku will be the better play in Week 6 at Pittsburgh. |

Cleveland Browns RB Dylan Sampson rushed for negative four yards on one carry against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 5. He also caught one pass for six yards during the game.
Link to storyCleveland Browns RB Jerome Ford rushed for 18 yards on five carries against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 5. He also caught two passes for 20 yards during the game.
Link to storyCleveland Browns RB Quinshon Judkins rushed for 110 yards on 23 carries against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 5. He also caught one pass for 18 yards during the game.
Footballguys view: Judkins took one game to ramp up after missing all of camp and Week 1 due to a contract situation and a domestic violence incident, and since Week 3, he has been a fantasy RB1. As of right now, he has been one of the most valuable picks in fantasy drafts. He'll face an improving Steelers defense coming off of a bye next wek. |
Cleveland Browns QB Dillon Gabriel went 19-for-33 for 190 yards and two touchdowns against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 5. He also rushed for five yards on two carries during the game.
Footballguys view: Gabriel operated mostly in the short passing game and over half of his completions went to Browns tight ends. Minnesota was a tough draw and the Browns have had multiple injuries at offensive tackle, so this is overall encouraging. Gabriel isn't going to give us as much volume as Joe Flacco or throw downfield as much as Flacco, but early indications are that he'll keep the team competitive while reviving the value of David Njoku. |
Although Cleveland Browns QB Shedeur Sanders was listed as the third quarterback for Week 5's game versus the Minnesota Vikings behind QBs Dillon Gabriel and Joe Flacco, he is expected to see playing time before the end of his rookie season. According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, much of Sanders' development is happening behind the scenes and the Browns would like him to have a full week of practice before allowing him to see game action.

Cleveland Browns OT Jack Conklin (elbow) is likely to play against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 5.
Link to storyCleveland Browns TE David Njoku (knee) practiced in full on Friday, Oct. 3.
Footballguys view: There's no indication that Njoku won't be ready for Sunday's game in London. The fear with Njoku lies not in his injury but in his usage so far this year. He's taken a backseat to other pass catchers, operating primarily as an in-line tight end while rookie tight end Harold Fannin Jr. works out of the slot. In addition to Njoku's subpar usage, rookie Dillon Gabriel is expected to get his first NFL start this week. Njoku is firmly benchable outside of leagues that require multiple starting tight ends. |
