Link to storyNew England Patriots RB TreVeyon Henderson (ankle) is expected to be ready for Week 1 despite suffering an ankle injury earlier this week, according to a source.
Link to storyNew England Patriots RB TreVeyon Henderson (ankle) was scheduled to undergo some tests on the ankle injury he suffered during practice Monday, Aug. 25, according to a source. He did not have any issues walking after the injury.
Footballguys view: Henderson slipped on the field making a cut in practice and removed himself from the drill. We'll see if these tests reveal anything serious about Henderson's ankle injury. Rhamondre Stevenson and Henderson are set to be in a 50/50 RBBC this season.
New England Patriots CB Christian Gonzalez and the New England Patriots continue to discuss a contract extension, according to a report on Tuesday, Aug. 25. Gonzalez expressed disappointment that the sides have yet to reach an agreement.

Patriots running back TreVeyon Henderson slipped on the turf at practice on Monday, and he's getting checked out by doctors on Tuesday. Christopher Price of the Boston Globe reports that Henderson is having "precautionary tests" done after hurting his ankle.
Footballguys view: Price adds that Henderson is walking and moving fine, so the hope is that the tests won't show anything that creates further concern. Patriots executive vice president of player personnel Eliot Wolf confirmed that Henderson is being checked out and said that he will not practice on Tuesday. The Patriots wrap up their preseason on Thursday night against the Browns, and Henderson was not expected to play in that game prior to the ankle issue, so there probably won't be any change in the team's plans to get Henderson ready to go for Week 1.

New England Patriots RB TreVeyon Henderson (undisclosed) left practice early Monday, Aug. 24, after slipping while making a cut.
Footballguys view: As USA Today notes, the extent and exact nature of Henderson's injury was unknown as of Monday night. The second-year running back appeared to have his right ankle/foot area examined by trainers after slipping on the field during practice. Henderson exited practice early after his initial sideline evaluation and went back to the team facility. We'll be watching for more.
New England Patriots QB Behren Morton has 'earned his way' onto the team's initial 53-man roster, in the opinion of ESPN's Mike Reiss, who writes that Morton will be a developmental project, and though ideally he would be on the Patriots' practice squad, it would be 'too risky' to expose him to waivers.

Link to storyNew England Patriots CB Christian Gonzalez (undisclosed) is participating in practice Monday, Aug. 24.
Footballguys view: The Patriots have cited an undisclosed injury as the reason for Gonzalez's absence from practice rather than a contract hold-in. But Monday's change in participation is a good omen for Gonzalez being ready for opening night against the Seahawks, and a new deal would make him even closer to being a sure thing.

Link to storyNew England Patriots TE Hunter Henry signed a two-year, $16 million extension Monday, Aug. 10. The deal is worth up to $20 million and includes $14.5 million guaranteed and a $4.2 million signing bonus.
Footballguys view: Henry has been one of quarterback Drake Maye's go-to targets in critical situations. Henry has logged 40-plus receptions in each of his five seasons with the Patriots, which is the second-longest streak by a Patriots tight end all time behind Ben Coates' six. He is coming off a 2025 season in which he totaled a career-high 768 receiving yards and enters this year third on the franchise's all-time list for receptions among tight ends (259). Henry, who finished 2025 as TE9, is being drafted as TE19.

New England Patriots WR Romeo Doubs (undisclosed) participated in practice Friday, Aug. 7, after missing the previous two practices because of an injury.
Footballguys view: There were no outward signs that Doubs absence was ominous, but when teams don't disclose information about injuries, we always need to err on the side of caution. Now that Doubs is back on the practice field, we can take him off of our injured player to monitor list. Doubs has been working as the #2 receiver behind AJ Brown, with Demario Douglas playing the slot in three wide receiver sets. All observers are reporting that Kayshon Boutte has been outstanding in camp, but Drake Maye continues to talk about his presence on the team in uncertain terms, so we're still on the lookout for a trade. If Boutte doesn't get dealt, that will complicate Doubs fantasy outlook.

New England Patriots WR Romeo Doubs (undisclosed) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Aug. 5 or Thursday, Aug. 6.
Footballguys view: It's not clear yet what Doubs' issue is, but 2025 UDFA Efton Chism has been seeing more time with the first team while Doubs has been out. This should only fuel speculation that Kayshon Boutte is on the trading block and may not be a Patriot when the season starts.
