Chiefs | Isiah Pacheco ruled out for Week 9    Fri Oct 31, 03:41 PM

Kansas City Chiefs RB Isiah Pacheco (knee) did not practice all week and has been ruled out for Week 9 against the Buffalo Bills.

Footballguys view: No surprise here, as Pacheco's knee injury is expected to keep him out for multiple weeks. In Week 9's matchup against the Bills, expect the Chiefs to lean on their trusty veteran, Kareem Hunt, who we have ranked as an RB2 this week. Brashard Smith, their rookie, has some exciting per-touch metrics, but usage has held him back from a true breakout. He could get some extra work in this matchup, but his projections are much shakier than Hunt's, who can handle all three downs if necessary.

Bears | No designation for Rome Odunze    Fri Oct 31, 03:12 PM

Chicago Bears WR Rome Odunze (heel) fully participated in practice Friday, Oct. 31, and is not on the injury report for Week 9.

Footballguys view: Odunze didn't practice early this week, but was a full participant by Friday. Fire him up as a back-end WR1 in what projects to be a prolific matchup against the Bengals.

Bears | DJ Moore should be available    Fri Oct 31, 03:11 PM

Chicago Bears WR DJ Moore (groin, hip) fully participated in practice Friday, Oct. 31, and is not on the injury report for Week 9.

Footballguys view: The Bears are battling some injuries this week, but they'll be with their top two wideouts, Moore and Rome Odunze. With D'Andre Swift out, Moore might get some extra usage out of the backfield this week, something we've seen Ben Johnson toy with this season. Moore is a high-upside WR3 this week against the Bengals.

Giants | Week 9 injury report for the New York Giants    Fri Oct 31, 03:07 PM

New York Giants CB Paulson Adebo (knee), CB Car'Dale Flott (concussion), DL Chauncey Gholston (neck), and CB Art Green (hamstring) did not practice all week and have been ruled out for Week 9 against the San Francisco 49ers.   Bears | Luther Burden will not be available    Fri Oct 31, 02:54 PM

Chicago Bears WR Luther Burden III (concussion) did not participate in practice Friday, Oct. 31, and has been ruled out for Week 9.

Footballguys view: Burden has been a buzzy name since the NFL Draft, but has had a quiet debut season aside from a big touchdown catch on a flea flicker in Week 3. He had been rotating in for about a quarter of the team's offensive snaps. In his absence, the outlook for the rest of the Bears' pass catchers doesn't change much. Burden will hope to clear concussion protocol and return in Week 10.

Bears | Week 9 injury report for Chicago    Fri Oct 31, 02:53 PM

Chicago Bears WR Luther Burden III (concussion), RB Roschon Johnson (back), DL Domonique Robinson (ankle), and RB D'Andre Swift (groin) did not practice all week and have been ruled out for Week 9 against the Cincinnati Bengals. LB Amen Ogbongbemiga (knee) practiced in full all week and has been listed as questionable. DL Grady Jarrett (rest) did not practice on Friday, Oct. 31, and no longer appears on the injury report. TE Cole Kmet (back), WR DJ Moore (hip, groin), WR Rome Odunze (heel), DB Tyrique Stevenson (shoulder), OL Joe Thuney (rest), and WR Olamide Zaccheaus (knee) practiced in full on Friday and no longer appear on the injury report.

Bears | D'Andre Swift to miss Week 9    Fri Oct 31, 02:48 PM

Chicago Bears RB D'Andre Swift (groin) did not participate in practice Friday, Oct. 31, and has been ruled out for Week 9.

Footballguys view: The Bears have been fairly liberal with giving Swift rest days, as he has managed this groin injury for a few weeks. As Ben Johnson put it earlier in the week, his job is to "protect the player from himself," and Swift wants to play this week. With him out, expect rookie Kyle Monangai to be the lead back. Roschon Johnson is also out in this game, meaning Monangai will only be splitting backfield touches with Travis Homer, whose primary duties come on special teams. Against a Bengals defense giving up more fantasy points to running backs than any other team, Monangai makes for a high-end RB2 this week.

Saints | Chris Olave on track to play    Fri Oct 31, 02:32 PM

New Orleans Saints WR Chris Olave (ankle) fully participated in practice Friday, Oct. 31, and is not on the injury report for Week 9.

Footballguys view: Olave's 83 targets this year ranked second behind only Ja'Marr Chase. However, he's the per-game WR20. The Saints offense hasn't led to much production, and they may be taking another short-term step backward by starting rookie Tyler Shough. He's a volume-based WR2 this week.

Saints | Rashid Shaheed listed as questionable    Fri Oct 31, 01:48 PM

New Orleans Saints WR Rashid Shaheed (hip) was limited during practice Friday, Oct. 31, and is listed as questionable for Week 9.

Footballguys view: Shaheed had 12 targets last week, his most of the season. There's hope that he could build off the connection we saw with Tyler Shough, who is getting his first career start. However, most fantasy managers should take a wait-and-see approach with the Saints where they can. Shaheed has been a consistent name buzzing in trade deadline discussions. If active, the Saints might try to showcase him a bit in this matchup. Still, he's deep in the receiver rankings this week, carrying a lot of risk for those brave enough to start him.

Titans | Calvin Ridley to miss another game    Fri Oct 31, 01:23 PM

Tennessee Titans WR Calvin Ridley (hamstring) has been ruled out of the Week 9 game.

Footballguys view: Ridley left Week 6's game early with this hamstring injury and will now miss his third game since suffering it. In his absence, rookie Chimere Dike has started to show promise. He caught his first touchdown two weeks ago and followed that up with the most targets, receptions, and receiving yards of his young career last week. He makes for a risky flex play against the Chargers, but he has some fun upside.

Patriots | Rhamondre Stevenson to miss Week 9    Fri Oct 31, 01:07 PM

New England Patriots RB Rhamondre Stevenson (toe) will not be available for the Week 9 game, according to head coach Mike Vrabel.

Footballguys view: In Stevenson's absence, rookie TreVeyon Henderson should see a larger role. However, Terrell Jennings and D'Ernest Johnson may also be involved. Mike Vrabel and Josh McDaniels both prefer a committee approach in their backfields. While Henderson's outlook will assuredly be better this week than it has been earlier in the year, don't expect him to run away with the full workload. He makes for an RB2 with upside against the Falcons.

Panthers | No designation for Xavier Legette    Fri Oct 31, 01:06 PM

Carolina Panthers WR Xavier Legette (illness) fully participated in practice Friday, Oct. 31, and is not on the injury report for Week 9.

Footballguys view: It's been a disappointing year for Legette, who has scored just twice amidst injuries. His biggest game came in Week 7, when Andy Dalton stepped in and built on the connection they had developed last year. He makes for a hazardous flex play in deep leagues.

Panthers | Week 9 injury report for Carolina    Fri Oct 31, 01:02 PM

Carolina Panthers OL Cade Moays (ankle, knee) and DE Princely Umanmielen (ankle) did not practice all week and have been ruled out for Week 9 against the Green Bay Packers. QB Andy Dalton (thumb), OT Taylor Moton (knee), and LB Trevin Wallace (shoulder) were limited in practice on Friday, Oct. 31, and are listed as questionable. G Damien Lewis (oblique), S Nick Scott (groin), and G Chandler Zavala (knee) practiced in full on Friday and are listed as questionable. DE Derrick Brown (knee), WR Jimmy Horn Jr. (shoulder), Wr Xavier Legette (illness), and QB Bryce Young (ankle) practiced in full on Friday and no longer appear on the injury report.

Panthers | Bryce Young good to go    Fri Oct 31, 12:37 PM

Carolina Panthers QB Bryce Young (ankle) carries no injury designation for Week 9 and will return.

Footballguys view: Young has been practicing in full all week, and there's no expectation that his ankle isn't good to go for this matchup. Young has had a quiet season, eclipsing 300 yards in just one game this year. The Panthers' running game has found its groove, but they'll have a tough matchup this weekend against a stout Packers defense.

Commanders | Jayden Daniels will play    Fri Oct 31, 12:35 PM

Washington Commanders QB Jayden Daniels (hamstring) will return and start the Week 9 game against the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday Night Football.

Footballguys view: First expected to be a multi-week absence, it's great that Daniels will only miss one game. He sprained his knee earlier in the year, and this hamstring injury affected his other leg. Although his rushing upside may be slightly limited in this matchup, he can still be started as a QB1, even with a tough matchup against the Seahawks.

Dolphins | Chris Grier let go    Fri Oct 31, 11:15 AM

Miami Dolphins general manager Chris Grier and the team mutually parted ways Friday, Oct. 31. Senior personnel executive Champ Kelly will serve as interim general manager.

Footballguys view: After nearly a decade with fleeting success, the Dolphins will move on from Grier after Thursday night's embarrassing loss to the Ravens. Reports are that the Dolphins plan to keep Mike McDaniel as the head coach for the remainder of the season.

Jaguars | Travis Hunter headed to IR    Fri Oct 31, 11:12 AM

Jacksonville Jaguars WR/CB Travis Hunter (knee) suffered an injury in practice Thursday, Oct. 30, that will require a stint on the Reserve/Injured list and keep him out four weeks.

Footballguys view: This is a devastating blow for Hunter, who was starting to emerge as the Jaguars' best playmaker over their last couple of games. Liam Coen and the Jaguars' beat are insinuating that the non-contact knee injury Hunter suffered may be serious. However, later reports indicated that his ACL is still intact, providing relief from the worst-case scenario. With Hunter out for the foreseeable future, Brian Thomas Jr. will be the team's unquestioned WR1, and potentially quiet some of the trade rumors swirling around him. Parker Washington and Dyami Brown have both performed admirably in limited action this year, and their roles should grow as well.
