Buffalo 41 - Detroit 31

  • The Lions defense isn't good, but Buffalo made scoring touchdowns look way too easy. Josh Allen has a chance to be the most valuable player in fantasy football this year. Don't trade him.
  • James Cook III still has a top 3-5 ceiling even though he has one rushing touchdown to Allen's four. That will balance out over time. The promise of Cook being used more as a receiver appears to have dried up, but the fantasy boost of this offense more than makes up for it.
  • DJ Moore left early with a shoulder injury, but he has a chance to play in Week 3. As long as it doesn't become a recurring injury, he has a top-10 ceiling going forward.
  • Dalton Kincaid got a few more targets with Moore out and posted his second straight WR1 stat line in the tight end column. He looks like one of the biggest hits at any position.
  • Keon Coleman replaced Moore in the lineup and caught all six passes Allen threw his way for 63 yards. It appears that he has redeemed himself after a rocky first two years. He is a priority waiver addition.
  • Joshua Palmer caught a long touchdown for the second straight week. If his role grows because of injuries, he would have fantasy relevance in this offense. He's a deep league add.
  • Jared Goff was under pressure behind an offensive line missing two starters, and the Lions offense had trouble moving the ball early in the game. He found his stride in the quick passing game in the second half and posted 327 yards and four scores in a valiant effort. The Bills defense is going to be generous to opposing passing games if the first two weeks are any indication. Justin Herbert will try to get right against them in Week 3.
  • Amon-Ra St. Brown also posted a week-winning performance with nine catches for 142 yards and two scores. Jameson Williams was a nonfactor because of the offensive line issues. St. Brown has a chance to be an elite WR1 again with a weak Lions defense creating pass-heavy game scripts and Williams falling out of favor.
  • Sam LaPorta is leveling off as a high-floor TE1. He has at least seven targets, five catches, and 48 yards in each of the first two games, and he scored in Week 2 after also having two red zone opportunities in Week 1. He's not going to be a true difference maker, but LaPorta was worth more than what it cost to draft him, and he should be a stalwart producer in PPR leagues.

Cincinnati 20 - Houston 6

  • Joe Burrow didn't have a great afternoon against the Texans defense, but one "you have to see it to believe it" touchdown catch by Ja'Marr Chase and another scramble drill play where Chase broke open for a touchdown fueled the tough road win. Burrow didn't show ill effects of the back issue that put him on the injury report. He's a high-floor QB1 against the Steelers this week, but it's a little disturbing that he didn't have a big game in Week 1 against a Bucs defense that allowed Deshaun Watson to come back to life next week.
  • Chase Brown didn't have a big game, but he was fed in the run game, and he didn't get a lot of receptions because the Bengals played with the lead for most of the game. He hasn't popped off yet, but Brown's status as a fantasy RB1 is very much intact after two weeks.
  • Tee Higgins made multiple difference-making plays downfield and should see his value grow as the Bengals face easier matchups.
  • Ja'Marr Chase put any Week 1 dud worries behind him with those two plays, and the team made a point of getting the ball to him early in the game. More ceiling games are coming.
  • Mike Gesicki was an afterthought. His good Week 1 appears to be a fluke, and he can be thrown back if he was added.
  • C.J. Stroud actually had a good day throwing the ball against the Bengals, but David Montgomery was stuffed at the one, the kicking game let the team down on two attempts, and Stroud just missed Jared Wayne open deep on a play that could have changed the game. All this without Nico Collins, who could miss another week. Stroud is still a QB2/Superflex play against the porous Colts defense in Week 3.
  • David Montgomery and Woody Marks were both corralled easily by the Bengals' excellent run defense. Don't expect anything out of the Steelers' backs in Week 3. Montgomery remains an RB2 play and Marks a what-the-heck flex in Week 3.
  • Dalton Schultz posted a career game with 12 catches and 140 yards. He's a weekly what-the-heck TE1 play when Collins is in, but if Collins is out again in Week 3, Schultz is worth a lineup spot, maybe even as a flex in PPR leagues.

Green Bay 20 - NY Jets 17 (OT)

  • The Packers saw Jayden Reed carted off with a back injury and right tackle Zach Bako-Bewele carted off with a knee injury on their second and third plays and still won in overtime on the road.
  • Jordan Love didn't have a big fantasy game, but he had a rushing score wiped off the board by a penalty (he finished the drive with a pass to Christian Watson instead), and the schedule gets much easier with Tampa, Chicago, Dallas, Detroit, and Carolina up after Atlanta on Thursday.
  • MarShawn Lloyd scored on a reception, but later fumbled. Kaleb Johnson got work early, and he fumbled, but the team stuck with him over Lloyd on early downs, and Chris Brooks was the back in high-leverage situations. All three are what-the-heck flexes while we wait for clarity on how this backfield will be split up and what will happen with Josh Jacobs and the commissioner's exempt list.
  • Don't let Matthew Golden's mere 4-58 line fool you. He looks like one of the breakout players of the year. Golden drew a long pass interference in addition to his catches, and he has a very high ceiling against Atlanta this week.
  • Tucker Kraft didn't do much in this game, but Reed going down and the lack of a running game gives his value a lot of room for growth going forward.
  • Geno Smith was better than his stat line indicates, as he and Adonai Mitchell just missed on a couple of deep shots that required excellent plays on the ball. Mitchell is graduating to every-week WR3/Flex status with the Lions up next. The matchup also gives Smith QB2/Superflex value.
  • Braelon Allen vultured a touchdown from Breece Hall, but Hall contributed 5-63 as a receiver to post a solid RB2 fantasy day anyway. Hall is on track to return at least his ADP value.
  • Garrett Wilson scored and posted a solid WR2 day. While Mitchell drawing 12 targets to his seven seems like bad news, the overall quality of this offense should keep Wilson's value right around his ADP, with room to grow if he gets a ceiling game against bad defenses like Detroit's in Week 3.
  • Green Bay's defense recovered from their Week 2 collapse against Carson Wentz and should get a boost midseason from Micah Parsons' return.

New Orleans 24 - Baltimore 17

  • Baltimore's defense is good, and it held Tyler Shough to three field goals before he broke through with two late scores to win the game. Shough is a solid QB1, and he has room to grow when Jordyn Tyson comes back. The Ravens defense takes the show on the road to Dallas this week in a great matchup.
  • Travis Etienne Jr. and Alvin Kamara had a somewhat even split in touches (14 for Kamara and 10 for Etienne), and neither was able to turn their workload into anything of consequence for fantasy football. Kamara got both red zone opportunities, but Etienne got more snaps. This situation will only give us matchup flex plays unless one of these backs gets hurt.
  • Chris Olave looks like he is going to deliver first-round value, and Devaughn Vele is an every-week WR3/Flex as long as Tyson is out.
  • Juwan Johnson almost scored the game-winning touchdown right before Shough did late in the fourth quarter. He's a TE1 play against the Raiders in Week 3.
  • The Saints lost LT Kelvin Banks Jr. to an ankle injury that will require surgery. Backup Asim Richards was on the field for the two touchdown drives and got some seasoning last year, so it's not a disaster, but Banks was an ascending first-round pick in his second season.
  • Lamar Jackson missed Zay Flowers and didn't put up a big game against Brandon Staley, who has actually contained Jackson in each of their last two meetings. Rashod Bateman was the clear WR1 with Flowers out, and he should be added even though Flowers might be back in Week 3. Bateman is a high-ceiling WR3/Flex against Dallas if Flowers is out and a high-ceiling what-the-heck flex if Flowers is in. Jackson should be in your lineup no matter what.
  • Mark Andrews isn't a big play threat, but he is still at least a matchup streamer and should be a TE1 play in Week 3 whether Flowers plays or not.
  • The Ravens lost Ronnie Stanley to a toe injury. He was listed as questionable with a toe injury after only getting in one limited practice going into the game. It's unclear whether he'll make the trip to Brazil. The Ravens offense had two punts and an interception after he left the game.

Philadelphia 24 - Tennessee 20

  • Jalen Hurts had another big game against a suspect pass defense. Week 3 brings Chicago, so expect Hurts, DeVonta Smith, and Dontayvion Wicks to stay hot.
  • Saquon Barkley left with a shoulder stinger and missed most of the first half. Tank Bigsby scored, but neither he nor Will Shipley showed much while Barkley was out, and Barkley didn't make anything happen when he returned. Barkley remains a boom/bust RB2 as long as he's active on Monday night.
  • Dallas Goedert went down with a knee injury that will cost him multiple weeks. Zach Ertz was signed to the practice squad, and he should get the call-up against the Bears.
  • Cam Ward scored twice on goal-line runs, but didn't improve his passing greatly against the tough Eagles defense. Ward is a desperation play, but the Giants are reeling and could allow him to get off the deck in Week 3.
  • Calvin Ridley made a few plays, and Elic Ayomanor had a long catch-and-run with a hurdle that will make season-end highlight reels. Carnell Tate and Wan'Dale Robinson aren't essential holds with the passing game spread out.
  • Tony Pollard ran well as the Titans' line is better as a run-blocking unit than they are at protecting Ward. He has what-the-heck flex value against the Giants. Tyjae Spears made a big play on a third-and-long, and there's hope that he could be bye/injury depth in PPR leagues if this offense grows.
