Cowboys | Dallas working to hire Ken Dorsey Mon Feb 10, 02:10 PM
Former Cleveland Browns offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey is finalizing a deal to be hired by the Dallas Cowboys for an undisclosed role, according to sources Monday, Feb. 10.
Footballguys view: As Profootballtalk.com pointed out, the Cowboys initially hired current head coach Brian Schottenheimer as a coaching analyst in 2022, so Dorsey may start in a similar role with the Cowboys. Or maybe he's the hire for quarterback coach, an opening that's not yet filled. Dorsey interviewed for the offensive coordinator position that went to Klayton Adams. The Browns fired Dorsey as their offensive coordinator after the season. Cleveland finished the season 28th in yards and 32nd in points. Dorsey was Buffalo's offensive coordinator from 2022 before the Bills fired him midway through the 2023 season. Schottenheimer will call the plays for the Cowboys in 2025. |

Former Cleveland Browns offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey will likely interview for the same position in the near future with the Dallas Cowboys, according to a source.
Footballguys view: The Browns got rid of Dorsey after just one year, and he was fired in the 2023 season with the Bills. The Cowboys have a ton more talent than the Browns do, so if hired Dorsey could get a lot from guys like QB Dak Prescott and WR CeeDee Lamb. |

The Cleveland Browns are hiring Ken Dorsey (Bills) to fill the vacant offensive coordinator position, sources said Sunday, Jan. 28.
Footballguys view: The Browns acted decisively to secure Dorsey's services, as offensive coordinator spots around the league are being filled quickly. He was the scapegoat for the Bills offensive issues, but statistically, they didn't improve greatly under no longer interim offensive coordinator Joe Brady. We'll see which hire looks wiser next season. |

Former Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey will interview for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator vacancy, according to sources Friday, Jan. 26.
Footballguys view: The Bucs are curiously interviewing a lot of coaches who wouldn't be considered successes in their last stop. In addition to Dorsey, Brian Johnson (Eagles) and Kellen Moore (Chargers) are on their list to replace Dave Canales, who was hired as the head coach of the Panthers. |

Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey was fired Tuesday, Nov. 14. Quarterbacks coach Joe Brady will serve as interim offensive coordinator.
Footballguys view: The Bills had to move on from Dorsey as their struggles continued against the Broncos in Week 10. Now, stats show an explosive offense but the Bills have lost their spark in the Dorsey offense. QB Josh Allen has elite talent, but too often he's turning the ball over while trying to do too much. The Bills need to run the ball more, use motions and shifts, and free Allen to be the special player he can be. We'll see if Brady can get that out of this offense as they make a desperate push for the playoffs. |

Buffalo Bills quarterbacks coach/passing game coordinator Ken Dorsey was named as the team's offensive coordinator Tuesday, Feb. 1.
Footballguys view: The move makes sense, and things should continue to look good for the Bills offense with Dorsey getting a promotion. The former quarterback has done a great job working with QB Josh Allen and will continue to craft a system that is best fit for one of the league's best. |

Buffalo Bills quarterbacks coach/passing game coordinator Ken Dorsey has a 'huge advocate' in QB Josh Allen, hinting that Dorsey would be his preferred choice as the offensive coordinator if Brian Daboll is hired as a head coach by another team this offseason.
Footballguys view: We could see Dorsey get a promotion if/when Daboll is hired as a head coach. The Giants seem to be his likely destination with former Bills executive Joe Schoen just hired as their new general manager. If Dorsey has Allen's stamp of approval that's good enough for the Bills to move him up the ranks. |

Buffalo Bills quarterbacks coach Ken Dorsey also will serve as the team's passing game coordinator in 2021, as is now noted in his official team bio.
Footballguys view: This move was not announced but changed on his bio, and it makes sense. Dorsey has been with the Bills since 2019 and has done wonders with QB Josh Allen. With Allen about to be one of the highest-paid quarterbacks in the league, it makes sense to give Dorsey more responsibility. |

Carolina Panthers offensive coordinator Mike Shula and quarterbacks coach Ken Dorsey were fired Tuesday, Jan. 9.
Footballguys view: Shula has been with the Panthers for all of Cam Newton's pro career (since 2011). The Panthers offense faltered under his guidance even though new weapons were added to the mix. We'll see if the Panthers can add more talent to the WR position and get more out of weapons like RB Christian McCaffrey or WR Curtis Samuel with a new offensive coordinator. |
