Vikings | Health issue for Harrison Smith Fri Aug 29, 05:06 PM
Minnesota Vikings S Harrison Smith (undisclosed) has been sidelined for most of the month of August with a personal health issue, according to multiple sources. Smith will be evaluated on a weekly basis but is expected to make a full recovery.
Footballguys view: Smith's Week 1 status becomes uncertain with this news. The Vikings signed K'Von Wallace to the practice squad. They like backups Theo Jackson and Jay Ward, so if Smith misses the game, it might not be that big of a hit to the defense. |

Footballguys view: Some have speculated that this injury is contract-related, as Jennings was reportedly seeking a new deal or trade going into camp, but there is no evidence that this is true. Jennings' injury was a recurrence of an injury from earlier in the offseason, which could be troubling if he doesn't get back on the field soon.
