Link to storyPhiladelphia Eagles S Sydney Brown (knee) was placed on the PUP list, according to sources Sunday, July 21.
Link to storyPhiladelphia Eagles WR Ainias Smith is expected to be the backup in the slot to WR Parris Campbell.
Footballguys view: As ESPN.com's Aaron Schatz pointed out, Campbell does not have the best record of staying healthy. Smith, a fifth-round rookie, will have to deliver if Campbell gets hurt, and it's hard to know what the Eagles can get out of him. A smaller (5-9, 176 pounds) speedster, Smith caught 53 passes for 795 yards and two touchdowns last season at Texas A&M. |
Philadelphia Eagles CB Isaiah Rodgers 'got work at outside corner with the first team, splitting time with second-year CB Kelee Ringo,' and is expected to compete with Ringo - as well as first-round draft choice Quinyon Mitchell - to start opposite Darius Slay this season. Earlier in the spring, WR A.J. Brown heaped praise on Rodgers, who missed all of the 2023 season for violating the league's gambling policy.'For a guy that has not played football for a year, coming back, he looks like he has been playing nonstop. He's flying around, and he's going to do special stuff for us this year,' Brown said.

Philadelphia Eagles TE Dallas Goedert had high praise for the offense under new offensive coordinator Kellen Moore and expects a bigger role in the passing game. 'I'm really excited for how he uses the tight end and how he feels like they can be a big part of the offense and help win games,' Geodert told The Philadelphia Inquirer on Saturday, June 22.
Footballguys view: NFL.com notes that Goedert has had at least 46 catches every season since 2019, but no more than 59. He's scored at least three touchdowns in each of his six seasons. But his career-high total is just five (in 2019). Goedert hasn't surpassed 850 yards in a season, but since his rookie year, he's also routinely stayed above 500. Will 2024 be the breakout season? Under Moore in 2023, the Chargers leaned more on Keenan Allen and Austin Ekeler than their tight ends, but Gerald Everett was tied for second on the team with 51 receptions, and Donald Parham enjoyed a career year with 27 catches, 285 yards, and four scores. |

Philadelphia Eagles QB Jalen Hurts recently hosted throwing sessions with WRs Johnny Wilson and Parris Campbell, according to Glenn Erby of EaglesWire.
Footballguys view: It's good to see the sixth round pick Wilson getting time in with his quarterback. Wilson is big enough at 6'6" 228 that some projected a possible move to tight end, but there are no signs that the Eagles are planning on changing his position. He could be a primary backup outside receiver right away. Campbell has always generated buzz in the summer, but never followed through in the regular season, mostly because of injuries. Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni was the Colts offensive coordinator when they took Campbell in the second round in 2019. His experience gives him a chance to get on the field in three wide sets if he makes the team. |

The Philadelphia Eagles were not found in violation of the NFL's anti-tampering policy when they signed RB Saquon Barkley, the league announced Thursday, June 13.

Updating a previous report, free-agent CB Parry Nickerson (Dolphins) signed a one-year contract worth $1.125 million with the Philadelphia Eagles on Friday, June 7.

Philadelphia Eagles S Sydney Brown (knee) may be a candidate to start the season on the Physically Unable to Perform list depending on his recovery, in the opinion of EaglesWire's Glenn Erby.
Footballguys view: The Eagles took Brown with the 66th pick last year, but he'll be coming back from a torn ACL and could see 2024 second round pick Cooper DeJean leapfrog him if the team moves the Iowa product to safety. Right now, DeJean is learning outside and slot corner, but some draft analysts questioned his ability to stay at corner in the NFL. The ultraathletic Brown is also Cincinnati RB Chase Brown's twin brother. |
Free-agent CB Parry Nickerson (Dolphins) signed an undisclosed contract with the Philadelphia Eagles on Friday, June 7.

Philadelphia Eagles first-round draft choice CB Quinyon Mitchell (Toledo) signed a four-year contract on Thursday, June 6. Financial terms of the deal were not immediately disclosed, but the contract includes a fifth-year team option.
Link to storyPhiladelphia Eagles WR Parris Campbell seems to be the front-runner for the No. 3 wide receiver spot, according to sources Thursday, June 6.
Footballguys view: The Eagles offense is one Fantasy GMs want to invest in, but their no.3 receiver is further down the pecking order with RB Saquon Barkley and TE Dallas Goedert in line to get a bunch of targets. Campbell has experience, and he's still got a ton of speed to be a big-play weapon down the field. |

Philadelphia Eagles WR DeVante Parker was placed on the Reserve/Retired list Wednesday, May 22.
Footballguys view: This helps sixth round pick Johnny Wilson have a clearer path to making the team. He looks like he can hang at outside receiver in the NFL, but would be more intriguing for fantasy as a tight end, which is possible down the line. |

Philadelphia Eagles S Sydney Brown (knee) participated in agility and running drills on the side during the voluntary workout Wednesday, May 22. There is no timetable for his return, but he hopes to be ready for the start of the regular season.
Link to storyPhiladelphia Eagles WR DeVante Parker announced his retirement from professional football Monday, May 20.
Footballguys view: Parker, 31, played nine NFL seasons after the Dolphins drafted him 14th overall in 2015. He played seven seasons with Miami and two with New England. Why now? "I want to see my [four] kids, spend quality time with them," Parker told Adam Schefter of ESPN. "I want to be there for them whenever I can." Parker finished his NFL career with 369 catches for 5,266 yards and 27 touchdowns. |

The Eagles signed Saquon Barkley to be another dynamic piece going forward after the team struggled through the end of 2023. New offensive coordinator Kellen Moore said in a press conference last week that he's anticipating Barkley to excel as Philadelphia's lead rusher. "Saquon is a premier running back, first and foremost," Moore said. "We're really excited about his ability to run the football. Obviously behind this offensive line, he's done a tremendous job. They have such cohesion and done a great job up front. He's going to be a great running back."
Footballguys view: As PFT notes, with Moore previously in the NFC East for years with the Cowboys, he and the rest of the Eagles staff are plenty familiar with the strengths Barkley displayed with the Giants. Moore acknowledge the Eagles have great depth at the position in Kenneth Gainwell and rookie Will Shipley, but Barkley, who has rushed for 5,211 yards with 35 touchdowns and caught 288 passes for 2,100 yards with 12 TDs in 74 career games, is going to be busy this fall. We're expecting the same. Barkley is RB5 on the Footballguys 2024 Draft Rankings. |

Link to storyPhiladelphia Eagles sixth-round draft choice WR Johnny Wilson (Florida State) signed a four-year contract on Friday, May 3. Financial terms of the deal were not immediately disclosed.
Footballguys view: We're excited about Wilson in deep dynasty formats. The big-bodied receiver could end up being a tight end, but he can make plays when healthy. We're interested to see how his pro career turns out. |
