Washington Commanders RB Chris Rodriguez Jr. (groin) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Dec. 10.
Footballguys view: Let's see what Rodriguez can do on Thursday and Friday. If he has to miss time, the Commanders would turn back to Jacory Croskey-Merritt.
Washington Commanders QB Jayden Daniels (elbow) is not being shut down for the season, according to head coach Dan Quinn.
Footballguys view: He won't be shut down for the season, but the Commanders have to be considering that move. Daniels did not look right in Week 14, and they've got nothing to play for. Marcus Mariota starts until Daniels is ready, and that may not be in the cards over the next four games.
Washington Commanders QB Jayden Daniels (elbow) had no structural damage to his left elbow, but he is out for Week 15. QB Marcus Mariota will start.
Footballguys view: Mariota gets the start, and he's done a fine job filling in for Daniels this year. Daniels played last week, but you could tell his elbow was bothering him - especially when he had to brace himself for a fall. With the Commanders season a wash, they should be incredibly cautious with Daniels in the last month of the year.

Washington Commanders TE Zach Ertz (knee) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list with a torn anterior cruciate ligament Wednesday, Dec. 10.
Footballguys view: John Bates could take over as the top tight end for the Commanders (its either him or Ben Sinnott). Ertz put together a strong season with 50 receptions for 504 yards and four touchdowns. Playing on a one-year deal in 2025, Ertz is set to be an unrestricted free agent in 2026.

Commanders head coach Dan Quinn said on Sunday that "the early signals aren't good" about tight end Zach Ertz's knee injury, and further tests confirmed the team's fears about the nature of the injury. Quinn said at his Monday press conference that Ertz suffered a torn ACL. He will have surgery to repair the injury and will miss the rest of the season.
Footballguys view: Ertz had one catch in Sunday's loss to the Vikings before being carted off with his leg in a brace. He had 50 catches for 504 yards and four touchdowns for the season. Ertz signed a one-year contract with the Commanders for this season. If he plays in 2026, it will be his 14th NFL season. John Bates, Ben Sinnott, and Colson Yankoff all move up the depth chart with Ertz out.

Commanders tight end Zach Ertz left Sunday's 31-0 loss to the Minnesota Vikings with what is believed to be a torn ACL, according to coach Dan Quinn. "Early signs say a serious injury," said Quinn, who added that Ertz will undergo imaging on Monday.
Footballguys view: Ertz was hurt in the third quarter and had to be helped off the field. He was unable to put pressure on the leg. He was soon carted to the locker room, a towel draped over his head, and was ruled out with the injury early in the fourth quarter. Ertz, 35, has 49 receptions for 493 yards and four touchdowns this season. Last week, he moved into fifth place on the all-time receptions list for an NFL tight end. He now has 825. John Bates, Ben Sinnott, and Colson Yankoff are the other tight ends on the roster.

Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels did not return after aggravating his left elbow injury in the third quarter Sunday. Coach Dan Quinn said after the 31-0 loss to the Vikings that Daniels could have returned, but a coach decided to keep him out. Marcus Mariota finished the game.
Footballguys view: The Commanders trailed only 14-0 when Daniels' elbow slammed against the turf as he was pursuing Vikings LB Andrew Van Ginkel after an interception. Quinn added that he plans for Daniels to continue playing this season despite the Commanders being eliminated from playoff contention. Daniels dislocated his left elbow while bracing a fall during a sack in Week 9. He missed three games before returning to start Sunday's game. Daniels went 9-of-20 for 78 yards and an interception and ran for 16 yards on four carries. We'll be watching for more on this in coming days.

Washington Commanders LB Von Miller had four total stops, including two of the solo variety, with a sack, a tackle for loss and a quarterback hit in Week 14 against the Minnesota Vikings.

Washington Commanders LB Bobby Wagner registered 16 total stops, including six solo tackles, with a sack and a quarterback hit in Week 14 against the Minnesota Vikings.

Washington Commanders WR Treylon Burks and TE Colson Yankoff were each targeted once in Week 14 against the Minnesota Vikings, but both players went without a reception or any offensive statistics.

Washington Commanders TE Ben Sinnott had a single 8-yard reception on his lone target in Week 14 against the Minnesota Vikings.
Link to storyWashington Commanders WR Noah Brown (groin, knee) had a single 19-yard reception on two targets in Week 14 against the Minnesota Vikings in his first action since Week 2 due to a groin and knee injury.

Washington Commanders WR Deebo Samuel registered a team-best four receptions for 27 yards on six targets in Week 14 against the Minnesota Vikings.
Footballguys view: Samuel had his hands on a fourth down pass in the end zone on the opening drive, but couldn't haul it in. The rest of the day was miserable for the Commanders offense, so Samuel was a Week 14 bust. He's just a what-the-heck flex at best against the Giants while we wait to see if Jayden Daniels will be available for Week 15.
Deebo Samuel Sr. player page
Washington Commanders WR Terry McLaurin went for three receptions for 41 yards on six targets in Week 14 against the Minnesota Vikings.
Footballguys view: McLaurin never really had a chance to follow up his big Week 13 with another strong fantasy showing. While we wait to hear if Jayden Daniels will be available against the Giants, McLaurin is still a viable flex with Marcus Mariota, but his ceiling is much higher with Daniels.

Washington Commanders RB Jacory Croskey-Merritt rushed seven times for 32 yards in Week 14 against the Minnesota Vikings, while he was not involved in the passing game.
Link to storyWashington Commanders RB Chris Rodriguez Jr. rushed 10 times for a team-best 52 yards in Week 14 against the Minnesota Vikings, and he was not targeted in the passing game.
Footballguys view: Rodriguez ran well, but he had a very limited opportunity as the Commanders fell behind quickly. Jayden Daniels left the game, but it might have been precautionary. Rodriguez is probably still a what-the-heck flex against the Giants even if Daniels can't go.
Washington Commanders QB Marcus Mariota completed 2-of-4 passes for 30 yards, no touchdowns and one interception in Week 14 against the Minnesota Vikings, finishing up for the injured QB Jayden Daniels (elbow). Mariota also ran twice for seven yards with a lost fumble.

Washington Commanders TE Zach Ertz (knee) left the Week 14 game against the Minnesota Vikings in the second half due to an apparent knee injury, and he was helped from the field before being carted to the locker room.
Footballguys view: The injury is feared to be an ACL and Ertz was very emotional after suffering the injury. The Commanders are in a lost season, so they should take a long look at 2024 second round pick Ben Sinnott, who has not progressed as hoped so far.

Washington Commanders QB Jayden Daniels (elbow) left the Week 14 game against the Minnesota Vikings due to an elbow injury, and he is questionable to return. He took a hard shot to his left elbow, leaving for the blue medical tent in the third quarter. QB Marcus Mariota replaced him under center.
Footballguys view: Daniels and the Commanders offense stalled out in the red zone on their first drive and then the game just got away from them. He was injured in an attempt to play defender after an interception. If you trusted Daniels for fantasy in his first week back from an elbow injury, it blew up in your face. Head coach Dan Quinn said he could have returned, but it was his call to keep Daniels out. We'll be monitoring practice reports heading into the matchup against the Giants to know whether to project Daniels or Marcus Mariota as the starting quarterback.

Washington Commanders WR Noah Brown (groin, knee) was activated from the Reserve/Injured list Saturday, Dec. 6.
Footballguys view: Brown's speed can open things up for the Commanders downfield. With Terry McLaurin and Deebo Samuel healthy as well, Washington has their full complement of weapons on offense. Brown is a 'what the heck' flex in his first game back, but know he may be on a snap count in his first game back since Week 2.

Free-agent P Sterling Hofrichter worked out for the Washington Commanders Friday, Dec. 5.
Link to storyWashington Commanders OT George Fant (knee) and DE Drake Jackson (groin, knee) did not participate in practice Friday, Dec. 5, and have been ruled out for Week 14. WR Noah Brown (groin, knee) did not practice and is listed as questionable. LB Bobby Wagner (knee) was limited during practice and is listed as questionable. QB Jayden Daniels (elbow), DT Javon Kinlaw (back), LB Frankie Luvu (shoulder) and LS Tyler Ott (back) fully participated in practice and are not on the injury report.

Washington Commanders WR Noah Brown (groin, knee) did not participate in practice Friday, Dec. 5, and is listed as questionable for Week 14.
Footballguys view: Brown hasn't played since Week 2 and is inching toward a return. If active this week, he's way too risky to start. However, Brown displayed a nice rapport with Jayden Daniels last year. He's worth a stash in very deep leagues, but having Terry McLaurin, Deebo Samuel, and Zach Ertz ahead of him will likely limit his upside.

Washington Commanders QB Jayden Daniels (elbow) will start in Week 14 against the Minnesota Vikings.
Footballguys view: What appeared to be a season-ending injury didn't even require an IR stint for Daniels, who will return after just three missed games. Daniels might reel back his rushing a bit in this game as he protects his injured elbow, but he can still be started as a back-end QB1 in fantasy.
Washington Commanders DE Drake Jackson (groin, knee) and LB Bobby Wagner (knee) did not participate in practice Thursday, Dec. 4. OT George Fant (knee) was limited during practice. WR Noah Brown (groin, knee), QB Jayden Daniels (elbow), DT Javon Kinlaw (back), LB Frankie Luvu (shoulder) and LS Tyler Ott (back) fully participated in practice.

Washington Commanders QB Jayden Daniels (elbow) fully participated in practice Thursday, Dec. 4.
Footballguys view: Daniels is trending in the right direction even though his team's season isn't going anywhere. It would be great to see him back in Week 14, but nothing is guaranteed with the second-year quarterback. Let's see what he does on Friday as the Commanders prepare for the Vikings on Sunday.

Washington Commanders QB Jayden Daniels (elbow) was limited during practice Wednesday, Dec. 3.
Footballguys view: Daniels is not yet cleared to return, but he's getting closer and may be out there in Week 14 against the Vikings. If he needs to miss another game, Marcus Mariota would get another start. Mariota played well against the Broncos on Sunday night, and he's a QB2 for Fantasy GMs if he gets the nod in Week 14.
Washington Commanders TE Zach Ertz (non-injury) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Dec. 3.

Washington Commanders QB Jayden Daniels (elbow) has not been cleared for contact at this point, and his availability for Week 14 will not be known until later in the week, according to head coach Dan Quinn.

Washington Commanders TE Zach Ertz collected 10 catches for 106 yards versus the Denver Broncos in Week 13. Ertz was targeted 13 times.
Footballguys view: Ertz made NFL history, moving past Shannon Sharpe on the all-time receptions list. Ertz entered the game with 814 career catches, needing just two to move past Sharpe's tally. By the end of the night, Ertz had his first 100-yard game of the 2025 season and his 12th career game with double-digit receptions. His performance placed him behind only Tony Gonzalez (1,325), Jason Witten (1,228), Travis Kelce (1,063), and Antonio Gates (995) among all-time tight ends. Ertz has quietly been TE8 on the season. He could help fantasy investors out down the stretch.

Washington Commanders WR Deebo Samuel had five receptions (on seven targets) for 64 yards in a Week 13 loss to the Denver Broncos. He also ran twice for minus-three yards.

Washington Commanders WR Terry McLaurin (quadriceps) was targeted a game-high 14 times in Week 13 against the Denver Broncos, catching seven passes for 96 yards and a touchdown.
Footballguys view: As AtoZ Sports suggested, not having McLaurin healthy this season has been a major factor for the Commanders being 3-9, and we were reminded of that on Sunday night. McLaurin has missed eight total games with his quad injury and got back on the field like nothing ever happened. Most impressive, McLaurin caught 3 of 8 targets for 30 yards when covered by Pat Surtain II, with his final reception being an overtime touchdown. Surtain had not allowed a touchdown on his last 507 coverage snaps dating back to Week 13 of 2024. It's an encouraging return.
