Giants | Little changes for WR Robinson's role?    Fri Jul 11, 04:00 PM

Dan Duggan, from The Athletic, reports there were no indications of any changes to New York Giants WR Wan'Dale Robinson's usage during offseason practices.

Footballguys view: Robinson played almost 78 percent of his snaps last year from the slot, and that's where he seems to be again in offseason workouts. Fantasy GMs don't buy what Robinson suggested earlier this year when he said he expects to move around a lot more in 2025. He's currently going off the board at WR68 after finishing last year as WR44 in PPR leagues.

Bears | GM Poles Given 3-Year Extension    Fri Jul 11, 03:59 PM

Adam Schefter, from ESPN, reports the Chicago Bears have reached a three-year contract extension with GM Ryan Poles.

Footballguys view: Now both Poles and new HC Ben Johnson are under contract through the 2029 season. Ownership is giving these two time to put together a championship roster, and this offseason, there have been some impressive moves on paper. Poles has his fair share of misses as general manager, so tying him to Johnson and seeing what these two can do makes sense.

Lions | Aidan Hutchinson pleased with recovery    Fri Jul 11, 01:49 PM

Detroit Lions DE Aidan Hutchinson (leg) is 'exactly where I need to be (physically)' in regards to his recovery from the broken fibula and tibia he suffered in October of 2024.'I'm exactly where I need to be. Every year I've been able to improve on my own physical attributes along with the mental ones, so I feel like every year I take a step. Despite having that rehab this offseason, I feel like I'm in the perfect spot and exactly where I need to be going into Year 4,' Hutchinson told CBS Sports' Ryan Wilson recently.

Footballguys view: Hutchinson went down with this serious leg injury in Week 6 and missed the remainder of the season. At the end of May 2025, Hutchinson was "fully cleared" to return from the fractured tibia and fibula he suffered in 2024. With two years left on his contract, the Lions may get in front of the situation with a potential extension. Now that he's healthy, Hutchinson should again be one of the best rushers in the NFL.

49ers | Christian McCaffrey looking as good as ever?    Fri Jul 11, 01:18 PM

San Francisco 49ers RB Christian McCaffrey 'looks incredible ... and so explosive,' according to FB Kyle Juszczyk.

Footballguys view: It's a small quote, and these are the type of things often heard in the offseason. "Player A" in the best shape of his life! "Player B" going to be better than ever! That's all nice and well, but with McCaffrey everyone already knows how talented he is at full strength. Fantasy GMs who are taking McCaffrey near the end of the first round (current ADP of RB5) will have to have a plan in place if he misses more time. Isaac Guerendo is in line to be McCaffrey's primary backup in 2025.

Chargers | Najee Harris likely to miss start of camp    Fri Jul 11, 11:23 AM

Updating previous reports, Los Angeles Chargers RB Najee Harris (eye) is likely to miss the start of training camp due to the eye injury suffered from a fireworks mishap.

Footballguys view: Harris will be ready to go by the start of the regular season. If he misses time at the beginning of camp that gives rookie first-round pick Omarion Hampton a larger chance to impress. The Chargers are going to have a full-fledged RBBC in a Jim Harbaugh run-heavy offense. That means Harris and Hampton will share the workload, frustrate Fantasy GMs, and likely each produce as flex options due to this split.

Commanders | Terry McLaurin has been talking with coach    Fri Jul 11, 10:45 AM

Washington Commanders WR Terry McLaurin has been talking with head coach Dan Quinn this offseason even though he skipped offseason workouts and the mandatory minicamp, according to Bleacher Report's James Palmer.

Footballguys view: Palmer said McLaurin is not believed to be looking to reset the receiver market. This is a good sign, and deals tend to get done at deadlines. McLaurin is entering the final year of a three-year extension he signed in 2022, and he's on the books with a $25.5MM cap hit (and $14MM in dead money). Reports suggest McLaurin may be seeking a contract that pays him around $30MM annually. Training camp for the Commanders begins on July 22.

Titans | Tyjae Spears may see more work    Fri Jul 11, 10:45 AM

Tennessee Titans RB Tyjae Spears looked explosive during offseason workouts and is expected to receive a bigger role in the offense this upcoming season, in the opinion of TennesseeTitans.com's Jim Wyatt.

Footballguys view: Earlier this year, Titans HC Brian Callahan said "I think we can do a better job managing that load so they both play a little more evenly" when discussing how the team could split time with Spears and Tony Pollard. Spears is a complete back, but the Titans have primarily used him on passing downs. We'll see if that changes this year, and we've got Spears at RB41 in our consensus rankings.

Jaguars | Odds stacked against Travis Hunter being full-time player?    Fri Jul 11, 10:45 AM

Jacksonville Jaguars WR/CB Travis Hunter 'may be that special guy that we have never seen before ... but there is so much detail in (the Jacksonville) offense that he has to learn,' according to long-time NFL analyst Greg Cosell.'Liam Coen's offense, assuming he's a wide receiver first, which apparently he is, there is a ton of motion, there's a ton of formations, he's got to learn all of that. So, again, he may be that special guy that we've never seen before. I'm not going to sit here and say he can't do it, but there is so much detail in that offense that he has to learn. He can't sit in two meetings at the same time,' Cosell said recently on The Ross Tucker Podcast.

Footballguys view: Cosell is essentially saying what everyone else does; Hunter is a special player, but it's a lot to ask for anyone to play full time on both sides of the ball. He was able to do that at Colorado, but the NFL is a more intense game. We assume Hunter will be primarily used on offense as a rookie, and as the Jaguars no.2 receiver, he's got flex appeal for Fantasy GMs.

49ers | Brandon Aiyuk ahead of schedule    Fri Jul 11, 09:14 AM

San Francisco 49ers WR Brandon Aiyuk (knee) could be ahead of schedule in his rehab, and there's a small chance he could be ready for Week 1, according to team insider Matt Maiocco on KNBR 680. 'I hear he's doing really well,'I hear that the knee is even ahead of schedule,' Maiocco said. 'Also, from what I understand, is it's not out of the question that he could be ready Week 1. I think the feeling inside the organization has always been don't take any chances, start him off on PUP when they report to training camp July 22, and then more than likely, just have that carry over into the regular season.'

Footballguys view: We should see Aiyuk begin training camp on the PUP list, which gives the team the option to begin Aiyuk on the PUP list to begin the regular season. The veteran receiver is working his way back from the torn ACL and MCL he suffered in Week 7 last season. He's unlikely to look like himself until the midway point of the 2025 regular season - at the earliest. Aiyuk has a current ADP of WR47.

Falcons | Nick Nash could struggle to make final roster    Thu Jul 10, 02:39 PM

Atlanta Falcons WR Nick Nash could be on the outside looking in when final cuts are announced later this summer since the Falcons appear to be in 'a pretty good spot in regards to their receiver room,' according to Tori McElhaney of the team's website.

Footballguys view: A converted quarterback at San Jose State, Nash was almost exclusively a slot receiver for San Jose State. The Falcons added him as a UDFA, and he's a long shot to make the 53-man roster. However, his size/nose for the end zone combination coupled with his high football intelligence means a spot on the practice squad could be in his future. In crazy deep dynasty formats, we'll monitor Nash's career.

Bengals | Joe Burrow eyeing rare feat    Thu Jul 10, 01:10 PM

Cincinnati Bengals QB Joe Burrow is attempting to become only the seventh quarterback since the merger to lead the league in touchdown passes in consecutive seasons. He would join Terry Bradshaw (1981-82), Dan Marino (1984-86), Jim Everett (1988-89), Steve Young (1992-94), Brett Favre (1995-97) and Drew Brees (2008-09 and 2011-12).

Footballguys view: Burrow has the talent to do that, and he's got one of the league's best group of pass-catching weapons around him. Add in the fact the Bengals defense should struggle, and that means the offense is going to have to put their foot on the gas. Burrow has a current ADP of QB4 and is going off the board in the third or fourth round in many drafts.

49ers | Demarcus Robinson pleads no contest    Thu Jul 10, 11:58 AM

San Francisco 49ers WR Demarcus Robinson pleaded no contest to misdemeanor DUI charge and was sentenced to three years' probation. He also was ordered to pay a $390 fine and to complete court-mandated programs, including a three-month alcohol education program, according to multiple media outlets that cited court records.

Footballguys view: Now that the legal process has concluded, Robinson needs to wait and see if the NFL suspends him. 49ers GM John Lynch said the team knew that Robinson could draw a suspension for his DUI arrest when they signed him. Some reporters believe Robinson could be suspended early in the season. If that's the case, the 49ers (with Brandon Aiyuk recovering from his ACL injury) could be using Jauan Jennings and Ricky Pearsall quite a bit at the beginning of the season.

Rams | Jarquez Hunter to add speed element    Thu Jul 10, 10:53 AM

Los Angeles Rams fourth-round pick RB Jarquez Hunter was eighth in FBS last season with 42 explosive rushes. He had the second-highest explosive rush rate (10+ yards) among FBS backs with more than 150 carries last year.

Footballguys view: Hunter was a stud running back for Auburn, and now he brings that speed and never-say-die attitude to the Rams. With his speed, Hunter led the SEC with 6.4 yards per carry in 2024. Hunter also had plenty of explosive plays, with 42 carries of 10 yards or more (sixth most in the FBS last year). The Rams traded up for Hunter in the fourth round, but as a rookie he'll have to carve out what could be a limited amount of playing time behind Kyren Williams and Blake Corum.

Rams | Blake Corum impressing    Thu Jul 10, 10:43 AM

Los Angeles Rams RB Blake Corum showed explosiveness in organized team activities, according to running backs coach Ron Gould. 'He's gotten his speed back, so his explosiveness has come back,' Gould said. 'We had a chance to just see that, and then his ability to come out of cuts, which is something that we saw in the junior year and part of his senior year.' Corum has displayed more explosive tendencies during training camp than he did last season.

Footballguys view: Corum is in line to be the primary backup to Kyren Williams. He's going to have to compete with rookie Jarquez Hunter for that spot, and it sounds like the second-year pro is impressing this offseason. We'll watch this competition in training camp and the preseason. Even though Corum's rookie season was 'meh' (3.6 yards per carry will do that), we still like him in dynasty formats.

Titans | Josh Whyle on the chopping block?    Thu Jul 10, 10:43 AM

Tennessee Titans TE Josh Whyle 'needs to step things up' during training camp if he wants to hold on to a roster spot, according to Jim Wyatt of TennesseeTitans.com.

Footballguys view: Whyle is competing for the backup spot to Chig Okonkwo, and he's off the fantasy radar. The third-year pro will have to beat out talented rookie Gunnar Helm for the no.2 job. We like Helm in dynasty formats, and he's got some Pat Freiermuth to his game. Helm's size and ability to get open is going to give him more upside than Whyle, but the rookie will have to prove himself in training camp and the preseason.

Eagles | AJ Dillon's spot in question?    Thu Jul 10, 10:43 AM

Philadelphia Eagles RB AJ Dillon's 'isn't even a sure-shot' to make the 53-man roster, according to Geoff Mosher of PhillyVoice.com.

Footballguys view: No surprise here. The Eagles have Saquon Barkley atop the depth chart, and Will Shipley may be the primary backup. Shipley and Dillon will compete for that spot, but Dillon lacks the three-down ability the team may be looking for in that role. Dillon's best bet to a roster spot is to prove himself as a short-yardage and goal line option for the Eagles.

Titans | Kalel Mullings on track for camp    Thu Jul 10, 10:43 AM

Tennessee Titans RB Kalel Mullings (undisclosed) is expected to be a full participant when training camp starts despite missing some offseason work because of an undisclosed injury.

Footballguys view: A converted linebacker at Michigan, Mullings was an absolute hammer playing running back for two seasons with the Wolverines. He brings that size and power to the NFL, and the rookie could be the best short-yardage and goal line option for the Titans. That means we could be looking at a three-headed RBBC with Tony Pollard and Tyjae Spears.

Rams | Davante Adams has been working with QB    Thu Jul 10, 10:43 AM

Los Angeles Rams WR Davante Adams said he has put in a lot of work with QB Matthew Stafford this offseason. 'Quite a bit. We got right to it. Had a really productive offseason,' Adams said. 'I've worked probably some of the hardest I've worked, just feeling really rejuvenated and ready to go win some games.'

Footballguys view: Stafford and Adams should be a fine combination for the Rams. The defense should be paying a lot of attention to Puka Nacua, and Adams should be able to take advantage of that coverage. Adams has a current ADP of WR19, and in this offense he could outperform that draft position.

Dolphins | Darren Waller activated    Thu Jul 10, 10:43 AM

Miami Dolphins TE Darren Waller was activated from the Reserve/Retired list Wednesday, July 9.

Footballguys view: Waller came out of retirement because he wanted to play for the Dolphins. He is now in a room with Pharaoh Brown, Jalin Conyers, and Julian Hill. Waller is clearly the best pass-catching option at the position for the Dolphins, and so long as QB Tua Tagovailoa is healthy, they will continue to have an explosive passing game. His current ADP is TE28, but expect that to rise during training camp and the preseason as Fantasy GMs should get more excited about his role as the season draws closer.

Eagles | Nyheim Hines could be an option    Wed Jul 9, 03:48 PM

Free-agent RB Nyheim Hines (Browns) could receive interest from the Philadelphia Eagles once he is healthy, in the opinion of EaglesWire's Victor Williams. Hines has played under head coach Nick Sirianni when they were both with the Indianapolis Colts.

Footballguys view: The Eagles are constantly looking for talent, even as one of the most talented teams in the league. Hines would give the Eagles a veteran receiving back to fill in if/when Saquon Barkley needs a breather. Right now, that job likely goes to Will Shipley.

Lions | Jameson Williams a deep threat in 2024    Wed Jul 9, 02:59 PM

Detroit Lions WR Jameson Williams caught five passes of at least 50 yards during the 2024 season, which was tied for the NFL lead in that category. He also ranked second in the NFL by averaging 17.3 yards per reception.

Footballguys view: This should be even more on display in 2025 with new OC John Morton. We'll see the Lions as a deep-striking team with Morton calling the shots, and that's good news for a guy like Williams. He's entering the fourth year of his rookie contract, ahead of his fifth-year option, and there are rumblings that he could be on the trade block before his deal is up. Another productive year for Williams in one of the league's best offenses could help increase his trade value. Stay tuned.

Lions | Amon-Ra St. Brown has been consistent    Wed Jul 9, 02:16 PM

Detroit Lions WR Amon-Ra St. Brown has caught at least five passes in 49 regular season games through his first four seasons in the NFL.

Footballguys view: St. Brown is one of the best in the game, and he's a darling in the fantasy community. Consistency is the name of his game, and that's why he's drafted in the first round near the turn. Currently, St. Brown has an ADP of WR6 and he could once again be a top-5 fantasy receiver when all is said and done.

Chargers | Tyler Conklin should see good playing time    Wed Jul 9, 02:01 PM

Los Angeles Chargers TE Tyler Conklin should see plenty of playing time this upcoming season even though TE Will Dissly is expected to be the starting tight end, in the opinion of ChargersWire's Spencer Schultz.

Footballguys view: The Chargers have a tight end situation that bears monitoring. We love the upside of rookie TE Orande Gadsen, but it's going to take time for him to develop at the pro level. That leaves Conklin and fellow veteran TE Will Dissly to work in some form of committee. Fantasy GMs aren't going to be in a rush to draft a Chargers tight end. However, if one of these three emerges as the main guy, then there's some bye week/injury help here. Keep them on your waiver wire speed dial.

Dolphins | Jaylen Wright likely to see bigger role    Wed Jul 9, 01:10 PM

Miami Dolphins RB Jaylen Wright likely will be asked to take a bigger workload this upcoming season and may be used as a inside runner in the offense, in the opinion of DolphinsWire's Jason Sarney.

Footballguys view: We are excited to see more from Wright. The Dolphins have a ton of speed on offense, and Wright fits that bill. With a current ADP of RB52, we love drafting and stashing Wright to see what he can do this year. He'll begin the season as the primary backup to De'Von Achane but it sounds like there might be some work for him here (that could make him fantasy relevant) even if Achane is healthy.

Dolphins | Nick Westbrook-Ikhine hopes to bring new dimension    Wed Jul 9, 12:56 PM

Miami Dolphins WR Nick Westbrook-Ikhine is expected to give the offense something it has not had in recent years: a big-bodied receiver who can help the offense improve last year's 56.6% touchdown rate in the red zone.'He's going to be extremely reliable. I think ultimately if you talk to the guys that knew him in Tennessee and our exposure so far has been consistent work ethic. I think that's ultimately where he puts himself in position to be successful is because he really is a student of the process, making sure he's on the little things so, therefore, on Sundays he can be reliable for the quarterback and really the rest of the offense,' Dolphins offensive coordinator Frank Smith said.

Footballguys view: Westbrook-Ikhine brings another downfield threat to the Dolphins offense, and that's why they signed him to a two-year deal earlier this year. He's coming off a career-high nine receiving touchdowns, but the Dolphins offense is significantly more exciting than the Titans were last year. That means Westbrook-Ikhine could be a nice boom-bust play for Fantasy GMs with weekly 'what the heck' flex appeal.

Titans | Cam Ward thrilled to have Calvin Ridley on his side    Wed Jul 9, 11:44 AM

Tennessee Titans WR Calvin Ridley moves and cuts in a way that rookie QB Cam Ward has never seen any receiver move and cut before.'(Ridley is) different. How he moves, everything. Now that I see what a receiver is supposed to be like, that's why I'm glad that Eli (Elic Ayomanor), Chim (Chimere Dike), Strep (Xavier Restrepo), Bryce (Oliver), all the guys in that room, I'm glad they got him because I ain't never threw to no receiver like him, who move like him, can cut like him ... he ain't selfish either. He wants the rookies, all of us, to do better than him because he's gonna end up getting his one-on-ones,' Ward said recently.Ridley's career has become a bit of an odyssey in recently, most of which is through no fault of his own. The primary thing that held him back last year was lackluster quarterback play. In 2023, he was forced into more of an X role due to injuries when his skill set is a better fit as a 'Z.' He missed 2022 due to a gambling suspension and only played five games the season before, making his 90-1,374-9 season in 2020 a bit of a distant memory. With Ward expected to raise the level of quarterback play in Tennessee, Ridley could easily be a top-20 receiver in fantasy this season.

Footballguys view: Ward is an exciting quarterback, and the no.1 overall pick is going to be fun to watch - even through the learning curve that will be his rookie season. Finding his favorite targets in training camp and the preseason could benefit Fantasy GMs out there, especially because some will overlook the Titans passing game. The Titans could be hot-and-cold this year, depending on Ward's progress as a rookie, so if you want to take that ride, then Ridley could pay off in those hot weeks.

Chargers | Kimani Vidal fighting for No. 3 role    Wed Jul 9, 10:30 AM

Los Angeles Chargers RB Kimani Vidal 'will have to shine in other areas' in order to lock down the No. 3 role behind Omarion Hampton and Najee Harris, in the opinion of Chargers Wire's Spencer Schultz.

Footballguys view: We appreciate Vidal's game, especially because he brings a different skill set to the field than the top-2 backs (Harris and Hampton) on the roster. Vidal is a compact player with good receiving ability in the open field. In addition to what he does as a receiver (and as a runner), Vidal will have to prove himself in pass protection and perhaps get some work in on special teams to lock down the no.3 role for the Chargers.

Broncos | Marvin Mims the likely No. 2 receiver in Denver?    Tue Jul 8, 02:20 PM

Denver Broncos WR Marvin Mims 'looks like the best candidate' to be the team's No. 2 receiver in 2025, according to Parker Gabriel of The Denver Post.

Footballguys view: Mims made an instant impact on special teams as a rookie, earning a Pro Bowl berth and second-team All-Pro selection as a returner in 2023. He did not have a large role on offense, but that changed during his second season. The 23-year-old speedster ended last season with 545 yards from scrimmage and six touchdowns (a significant increase from his one offensive touchdown in 2023). He has emerged as an all-around weapon for Denver, and Mims continues to trend up going into Year 3. Mims is being drafted as WR61 in Round 13 this year.

Cowboys | Dak Prescott fully healthy    Tue Jul 8, 11:26 AM

Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott (hamstring) declared himself fully healthy Tuesday, July 8, and ready to go for training camp, pending one more checkup with the team doctors.

Footballguys view: Prescott, who turns 31 at the end of the month, suffered a season-ending hamstring tear in Week 9 last season. But he was able to participate in much of the Cowboys' offseason program, telling reporters in May that he'd been cleared for everything but contact. Remember, Prescott has finished as a QB1 six times in his career -- every year he's played a full 16- or 17-game season. He led the NFL with 36 touchdown passes and finished as QB3 as recently as 2023. He's being drafted as QB14 in the tenth round this year.

Falcons | Kirk Cousins felt misled    Tue Jul 8, 10:20 AM

Atlanta Falcons QB Kirk Cousins said he felt a little 'misled' when the Falcons took QB Michael Penix Jr. with the eighth pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, in the first episode of Netflix's 'Quarterback.' Cousins said he was aware the Falcons might draft a quarterback, but definitely not that high. He wasn't informed about the Penix pick until a phone call by offensive coordinator Zac Robinson while Atlanta was on the clock. 'Certainly, if I had the information around free agency, it certainly would've affected my decision,' Cousins said on the first episode of the season. 'I had no reason to leave Minnesota with how much we loved it there if both teams are going to be drafting a quarterback high. But I've also learned in 12 years in this league that you're not entitled to anything. It's all about being able to earn your spot and prove yourself.'

Footballguys view: Cousins led the Falcons to a 6-3 start last season before taking a hard hit to his right arm in Week 10. The Falcons' season took a sharp downward turn beginning with that game. They eventually benched Cousins in Week 16. Penix took over and played solidly, though the team went 1-2 in those games and missed the playoffs. For now, Cousins will serve as the backup to Penix. But Atlanta would surely listen to trade offers if they're out there, with the hope that a team is willing to take on a chunk of his guaranteed $27.5  million salary.

Buccaneers | Baker Mayfield successful against blitz    Tue Jul 8, 12:24 AM

Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Baker Mayfield threw 17 touchdowns against the blitz during the 2024 season.

Footballguys view: PewterReport's Adam Slivon added to this by noting that in 220 drop-backs when blitzed, Mayfield completed 73.3% of his passes with 17 touchdowns to just four interceptions. His ability to distribute the ball quickly and efficiently has drastically improved since entering the NFL. Mayfield, who finished last season as QB4, is currently being drafted as QB7 in Round 7.

Dolphins | Darren Waller may pick up offense quickly    Tue Jul 8, 12:17 AM

Miami Dolphins TE Darren Waller has played in an offensive system similar to head coach Mike McDaniel's system and should be able to pick up the offense relatively quickly, in the opinion of The Miami Herald's Kaitlyn Pohly.

Footballguys view: Waller is also familiar with Dolphins offensive coordinator Frank Smith, who coached the Raiders' tight ends from 2018 to 2020 -- Waller's best NFL seasons. All that said, while Waller might well end up the Dolphins' starting tight end, his presence on an NFL roster doesn't necessarily mean he merits a spot on yours. He opens up as TE31 on the Footballguys Projections.

Panthers | Bryce Young works out with teammates    Tue Jul 8, 12:15 AM

Carolina Panthers QB Bryce Young worked out with several of the team's pass catchers last week. WR Tetairoa McMillan, WR Xavier Legette, WR Adam Thielen, WR David Moore, WR Jimmy Horn Jr., WR Kobe Hudson and TE Ja'Tavion Sanders were among the pass catchers at the workout.

Footballguys view: The group linked up in Minnesota this past week to work with Ryan Englebert of ETS Performance. Young finished last season with a strong run, so the work they're putting in this week could give the third-year QB a jumpstart when the Panthers hit the field at training camp later this month. The team's rookies report back to Charlotte on July 21 and veterans on July 22.

Lions | Amon-Ra St. Brown very capable of winning out wide    Mon Jul 7, 03:01 PM

Detroit Lions WR Amon-Ra St. Brown ran 240 routes from the slot with 39 receptions (on 56 targets) for 441 yards and five touchdowns in 2024. However, he ran 252 routes out wide, which led to 67 receptions (on 75 targets) for 740 yards and five touchdowns.

Footballguys view: It's no surprise to learn that he's winning in all areas of the field. Last year, St. Brown, who has three consecutive 1,000-yard seasons under his belt, joined Larry Fitzgerald as the only wide receivers in NFL History to have multiple seasons with 100-plus catches, 1,000-plus receiving yards, and 10-plus touchdowns in their first four years in the league. Even with a new playcaller, John Morton, taking over for Ben Johnson, St. Brown is being drafted in the elite tier, going as WR6 overall in Round 1.

Giants | Theo Johnson pronounces himself healthy    Mon Jul 7, 01:11 PM

New York Giants TE Theo Johnson recently told the 'Giants Huddle' podcast that he is now healthy after undergoing foot surgery last season.

Footballguys view: It's easy to forget that Johnson heads into 2025 with a clear path to workload and that he was showing signs of life before he was hurt last year. In fact, he drew four or more targets and caught three or more passes in all of his final five games. Johnson finished with 29 of 43 targets for 331 yards and one touchdown. He's currently being drafted as TE30, available in Round 18.

Chargers | Trey Lance on CFL radar    Mon Jul 7, 11:06 AM

Los Angeles Chargers QB Trey Lance's CFL negotiation rights went to the Saskatchewan Roughriders

Footballguys view: In the CFL, that list permits players from that league to â€"claim” a player's rights on the off chance the player elects to leave the NFL or other league and go play football in the CFL's realm. The Chargers signed Lance in April, inking the former third-overall pick to a one-year deal to put him in a competition with Taylor Heinicke for a depth chart spot behind Justin Herbert. Should Lance ever choose to go North, he'll suit up for the Roughriders.

Browns | Shedeur Sanders on CFL list    Mon Jul 7, 11:04 AM

Cleveland Browns QB Shedeur Sanders' CFL negotiation rights were acquired by the Toronto Argonauts.

Footballguys view: As Profootballtalk.com noted, this isn't a surprising development. The Argonauts have held his rights since late April, after Sanders fell to pick No. 144 in the draft. If it comes to playing North of the border, that means things will have gone very poorly for him in Cleveland, and possibly elsewhere. It will also put the kibosh on any possible fantasy value Sanders might have held.

Cowboys | Unfortunate distinction for Jake Ferguson    Mon Jul 7, 01:10 AM

Dallas Cowboys TE Jake Ferguson's 88 targets in 2024 were the most among any player who failed to catch a touchdown.

Footballguys view: After a breakout 2023 season that saw him finish as TE9, Ferguson was slowed by a knee injury and a concussion last year. Those injuries and Dak Prescott's absence held Ferguson to fewer than 500 receiving yards. That said, Ferguson drew the fifth-most targets among all tight ends and the second-most on the Cowboys during his six-game stretch with Prescott. He's projected to finish as TE13 this season, but he's being drafted two spots later, as TE15 in the 12th round.

Patriots | Hunter Henry allergic to end zone    Mon Jul 7, 12:59 AM

New England Patriots TE Hunter Henry ranked eight or better in catches, yards and targets among tight ends in 2024, but his two touchdowns ranked 26th at the position.

Footballguys view: Even though the touchdowns were limited, Henry had career highs in catches and yards (66 catches on 97 targets for 674 yards), and there's an obvious connection brewing between him and Drake Maye. It's reasonable to expect that connection to grow in Year 2. Of course, Austin Hooper was also a factor last season. But with Josh McDaniels back as offensive coordinator, both tight ends could be in line for even more production. Henry is TE20, available in Round 14, making him a solid value as a TE2.

Commanders | Terry McLaurin still frustrated    Mon Jul 7, 12:46 AM

Washington Commanders WR Terry McLaurin is 'not happy with where things are with an extension,' according to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com.

Footballguys view: As Profootballtalk.com's Mike Florio noted, that's obvious, given that he boycotted the entire offseason program -- voluntary and mandatory. The real question is whether McLaurin will hold out if he doesn't get what he wants before camp starts. McLaurin has five straight 1,000-yard seasons. Last year, he finished with 82 catches for 1,096 yards and 13 touchdowns and became one of Jayden Daniels' favorite targets. Even though he turns 30 on September 15, it seems likely the Commanders will get something done here. We'll continue to monitor.

Bengals | Jermaine Burton rebounding nicely    Mon Jul 7, 12:43 AM

Cincinnati Bengals WR Jermaine Burton has 'rebounded nicely' this offseason, in the opinion of Bengals Wire's Chris Roling.

Footballguys view: ESPN.com's Ben Baby reports the same, noting that Burton showed up with a new look and approach to the pro game. "This offseason, Burton has made all the right moves," Baby wrote. "He was attentive and engaged throughout the spring workouts. He earned praise from every person who was asked about him." Baby also reminded readers that Burton has the tools to become a big-play option in special situations. We'll see if that strong offseason can carry over into training camp.

Jaguars | Coach excited about Dyami Brown    Sun Jul 6, 02:08 PM

Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Liam Coen said he is excited that WR Dyami Brown is on the roster because he can be productive in all types of routes in the passing game. 'You look at somebody that's able to attack the field at all three levels,' Coen said. 'He can go down the field on the post, in the go, in the pylons and be the top shelf, but also you can throw him a screen and he can go and do something with it. I can't coach that. I can't coach you to go and make three people miss after you've caught the ball. ... That's what he can do.'

Footballguys view: This has been a consistent yet somewhat under-the-radar drum beat this offseason. The team is excited about Brown in this dynamic offense, and that means Fantasy GMs can look to Brown as a late-round flier. His 'easy speed' means Brown could take the top off the defense while Brian Thomas and Travis Hunter get plenty of targets. If Brown plays up to his potential, and this offense performs like it could, Brown is a 'what the heck' flex.

Bears | Unenviable distinction for Rome Odunze     Sun Jul 6, 12:41 PM

Chicago Bears WR Rome Odunze's three receiving touchdowns were the fewest in the NFL among players who received at least 13 end zone targets in 2024.

Footballguys view: Odunze, and really the whole Bears pass offense this year, is a riddle for fantasy drafts. He and Caleb Williams had one of the most inefficient connections in the league last year, but offensive whiz Ben Johnson chose this head coaching staff and knew Williams would be his quarterback, so he must like the potential of the 2024 #1 overall pick. Odunze has also gotten a lot of early praise from Johnson, so he could emerge as the #1 in a passing game stocked with weapons. Odunze costs basically the same as he did last year in drafts, which shows optimism, since he and the Bears pass offense was such a disappointment last year.

Texans | C.J. Stroud comfortable with Christian Kirk     Sun Jul 6, 12:41 PM

Houston Texans WR Christian Kirk looked like a 'safety blanket' for QB C.J. Stroud during minicamp, according to DJ Bien-Aime II of ESPN.com.

Footballguys view: Kirk has been a forgotten man even though the Texans are paying him over $15 million to play for this year. He was going to be released, but the team was willing to give a seventh round pick for him. Second round pick Jayden Higgins has been the talk of OTAs, but Kirk could easily reproduce Stefon Diggs pre-injury numbers last year, but he's a lot cheaper than Diggs was in 2024 drafts. The Texans offense could be improved after they made a lot of changes on the coaching staff in the offense, but they also traded away their best offensive lineman when they sent Laremy Tunsil to Washington in the offseason.

Giants | Malik Nabers productive in final quarter    Sun Jul 6, 12:41 PM

New York Giants WR Malik Nabers caught 39 passes for 472 yards and three touchdowns during the fourth quarter of games during the 2024 season.

Footballguys view: It's not clear if going from Drew Lock to Russell Wilson will be an upgrade for Nabers, but we shouldn't be surprised if Nabers transcends his quarterback play again this year. You'll need to take him in the mid first round if you want him this year.

Jaguars | Brian Thomas outstanding in December    Sun Jul 6, 12:41 PM

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Brian Thomas Jr. caught 38 passes for 490 yards and five touchdowns in December during the 2024 season.

Footballguys view: With Mac Jones at quarterback and a lame duck coaching staff, may we add. Thomas could and should be even better with Trevor Lawrence throwing to him and Liam Coen calling the shots. He's available in the second half of the first round, which might seem like a value in hindsight.

Broncos | Marvin Mims gaining confidence    Sun Jul 6, 12:41 PM

Denver Broncos WR Marvin Mims has been gaining confidence since he became more involved in the offense last season, according to offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi. Mims may receive more playing time on offense this upcoming season and will still be used as a returner.

Footballguys view: Mims came on at the end of the season and could be a breakout player this season. The Broncos wide receiver group is deep and varied, so Mims is the most valuable in a best ball league where inconsistency isn't as damaging to your weekly outcome. We'll be listening and watching to see if Mims is taking big steps forward in his third training camp as he competes with Troy Franklin, Devaughn Vele, and third round pick Pat Bryant for targets.

Dolphins | Changes Coming if QB Can't Stay Healthy?    Sun Jul 6, 12:23 PM

On a recent episode of "The Rich Eisen Show" NFL Network's Tom Pelissero said there will be â€"decisions for everybody to make” if Miami Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa can't stay healthy in 2025.

Footballguys view: No surprise here. Mike McDaniel is on the hot seat this year, and there could be a front office/coaching staff reset if the team doesn't make a run to the playoffs. That relies on the health of Tagovailoa as McDaniel's team doesn't perform the same without their starting quarterback. Zach Wilson is there to fill in if/when Tagovailoa is banged up.

Bengals | Joe Burrow's right wrist not fully healed    Sun Jul 6, 10:39 AM

Cincinnati Bengals QB Joe Burrow (wrist) said during the club's mandatory minicamp last month that he hasn't fully recovered from season-ending surgery performed on his right wrist in November 2023. '(In 2024), I still wasn't quite back to throwing it the way that I expect,' he said. 'It's improved this year and it will continue to improve. As long as I keep making those reps, taking the extra time to get that rhythm back, it will continue to improve.'

Footballguys view: Burrow was nearly an elite fantasy quarterback last year, and that was with some offensive line problems and Tee Higgins missing five games. If the line improves, Higgins stays healthy, and Burrow's wrist feels better, he could be even better, but fantasy drafters are onto him, as Burrow is going closer to the elite tier headed by Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson than he has before. He could end up being the #1 fantasy quarterback in 6 point per pass touchdown leagues.

NFL | Chase Claypool completely healthy    Sun Jul 6, 10:06 AM

Updating a previous report, free-agent WR Chase Claypool (Bills) said in a post on his Instagram account that he is fully healthy after spending the last year rehabbing from a torn ligament and tendon in the second toe on his left foot.

Footballguys view: Claypool is sending the message via social networking that he's ready to play, and we're sure his agent is working the phones behind the scenes. If the veteran receiver is going to find a team, it's likely during training camp or the preseason if/when someone gets hurt. His size/speed combination should get him some interest now that he's healthy, but a move doesn't seem imminent.
