Dallas Cowboys WR George Pickens is a player the team has had internal discussions about regarding a possible extension, according to Dan Graziano of ESPN.com, and the Cowboys have examined the cap situations of teams like Cincinnati, Miami and Philadelphia, who are paying multiple high-end receivers.
Footballguys view: CeeDee Lamb is signed through the 2028 season, and he's got a cap number around $40MM annually beginning in 2026. Pickens did a great job filling in as the no1 receiver while Lamb was out earlier this year. Paying two receivers big bucks sounds like something Jerry Jones would do.

Dallas Cowboys RB Jaydon Blue carried the ball seven times for 29 yards against the Washington Commanders in Week 7. He added a five-yard catch on his lone target.
Link to storyAfter missing the last three games due to an ankle injury, CeeDee Lamb quickly appeared to be in midseason form. Dak Prescott didn't shy away from targeting Lamb early and often in Sunday's 44-22 win over the Commanders. Lamb was targeted eight times in the first half as he caught five passes for 110 yards and a touchdown.
Footballguys view: With the Cowboys leading, 27-15, at halftime, Lamb didn't see a target in the second half as Dallas leaned on the running game to run the clock down. According to Next Gen Stats, Lamb played 48 out of 62 offensive snaps (77.4%) in Sunday's win. With Lamb returning to the lineup, the Cowboys' offense is rolling heading into next week's game against the Broncos in Mile High.

Dallas Cowboys CB DaRon Bland intercepted a pass and returned it 68 yards for a touchdown in Week 7 against the Washington Commanders. He had five pick-sixes in 2023.

Dallas Cowboys LB Shemar James had nine tackles - four solo - to go with a strip sack and two quarterback hits in Week 7 against the Washington Commanders.
Link to storyDallas Cowboys TE Jake Ferguson caught all seven targets for 29 yards and two touchdowns in Week 7 against the Washington Commanders.
Footballguys view: According to the team's media relations department, Ferguson became "the first tight end in NFL history with at least 50 receptions and six receiving touchdowns in the first seven games of a season." He also had a touchdown catch in his fourth straight game. Even with a fully healthy receiving corps, Ferguson's role remained robust. His seven targets were second on the team behind CeeDee Lamb's eight. The Cowboys face a more challenging defense in Week 8, with the Broncos on tap.
Dallas Cowboys WR George Pickens caught four of six targets for 85 yards in Week 7 against the Washington Commanders.
Footballguys view: Even with CeeDee Lamb back in the lead role and TE Jake Ferguson drawing heavy targets as well, Pickens contributed some key plays in the 44-22 win. Whether it was making an impressive sideline catch to keep a drive alive or drawing penalties on Washington's defense, Pickens was a problem for the Commanders, and the formidable receiving corps allowed Dak Prescott to hit 21 of 30 passes for 264 yards and three touchdowns. The Cowboys certainly have one of the most lethal offenses in the NFL, and Pickens will remain part of it. Dallas plays the Broncos in Week 8.
Dallas Cowboys RB Javonte Williams carried 19 times for 116 yards and a touchdown and caught one of four targets for two yards in Week 7 against the Washington Commanders.
Footballguys view: Even with the passing attack hitting on all cylinders, there's ample bandwidth for Williams to deliver. He had his second 100-yard rushing game and sixth rushing touchdown of the season. The Cowboys are averaging more than 30 points per game, and of their final 10 opponents, six rank in the top half defensively in points allowed. It'll be a greater challenge in Week 8, however, as Dallas takes on Williams' former team, the Broncos.

Link to storyDallas Cowboys CB Caelen Carson (knee) was activated from the Reserve/Injured list Saturday, Oct. 18.
Link to storyDallas Cowboys TE Jake Ferguson's 44 receptions this year are the most among tight ends and the third most ever at the position through the first six games.
Footballguys view: Ferguson is a regular fantasy starter, and with his target share, he's a top-5 option for Fantasy GMs on a weekly basis. Against the Commanders in Week 7, Ferguson should continue to get this massive workload.
