Commanders | Dislocated elbow for Jayden Daniels Mon Nov 3, 03:00 AM
Updating an earlier report, Washington Commanders QB Jayden Daniels (elbow) suffered a dislocated elbow during the team's Week 9 game against the Seattle Seahawks. Daniels will be sidelined indefinitely, per ESPN's Adam Schefter, though it is not yet known if the injury will be season-ending.
Link to storySeattle Seahawks QB Sam Darnold completed 21-of-24 passes for 330 yards, four touchdowns and one interception in Week 9 against the Washington Commanders. With a blowout score, he was rested for the second half of the fourth quarter. QB Drew Lock mopped up.
Footballguys view: Darnold might well have had the best game of his career and certainly his best first half, one in which he completed every pass he threw for 282 yards, a perfect 158.3 rating, and four touchdowns -- tops in his career for an opening half. Seattle scored on each of its five first-half possessions and Darnold completed his first 17 passes of the night, matching Warren Moon for the franchise record. Jaxon Smith-Njigba continued to emerge as one of the league's best wideouts, but Darnold was the star. The Seahawks play Arizona in Week 10.

Los Angeles Rams QB Matthew Stafford completed 24-of-32 passes for 281 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions in Week 9 against the New Orleans Saints, while running four times for minus-4 yards.
Footballguys view: As NFL.com suggested, Stafford got whatever he wanted against the New Orleans defense, playing point guard with aplomb. Seven players had at least two catches and double-digit yards. Although he left early with a minor chest issue, Puka Nacua's return helped open up the offense. Whether it was short tosses to his tight ends or deep shots to Davante Adams, Stafford was on his game from the start. With Stafford and Adams vibing, the Rams' red zone offense can be deadly. Add a smothering defense and an offense in a groove, the 6-2 Rams are a force in the NFC.

Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes completed 15 of his 34 passes for 250 yards and an interception in a 28-21 loss to the Buffalo Bills in Week 9.

Las Vegas Raiders QB Geno Smith completed 29 of his 39 passes for 284 yards, four touchdowns and an interception in a 30-29 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 9.

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence (illness) completed 23 of his 34 passes for 220 yards and an interception and rushed nine times for 24 yards and two touchdowns in a 30-29 win over the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 9.

New Orleans Saints QB Tyler Shough completed 15-of-24 passes for 176 yards, one touchdown and one interception in Week 9 against the Los Angeles Rams, and he ran once for two yards in his first NFL start.
Link to storyDetroit Lions QB Jared Goff completed 25 of his 37 passes for 284 yards and two touchdowns in a 27-24 loss to the Detroit Lions in Week 9.

Minnesota Vikings QB J.J. McCarthy completed 14 of his 25 passes for 143 yards, two touchdowns and an interception in a 27-24 win over the Detroit Lions in Week 9. He also rushed nine times for 12 yards and a score.
Footballguys view: As ESPN.com's Kevin Seifert noted, fans got the full McCarthy experience in his return from a high right ankle sprain. He started hot, throwing two touchdown passes in the first quarter, but got bogged down in the passing game as the Lions sacked him five times and hit him on three other occasions. The inconsistent accuracy McCarthy displayed early this season returned. But he found ways to make plays, including a 9-yard scoring run on third down. He'll look to build on this one against the Ravens in Week 10.
Green Bay Packers QB Jordan Love completed 26-of-37 passes for 273 yards, no touchdowns and one interception in Week 9 against the Carolina Panthers, while running once for one yard.

Houston Texans QB Davis Mills completed 17-of-30 for 137 yards without a touchdown or interception in Week 9 against the Denver Broncos.

Denver Broncos QB Bo Nix completed 18-of-37 for 173 yards with two touchdowns and an interception and rushed for 36 yards on three carries in Week 9 against the Houston Texans.
Footballguys view: Nix had multiple rough stretches against one of the best defenses in the league, but he once again saved his best play for the fourth quarter and led his team to another stirring comeback victory. He wasn't a bad play in a tough matchup, which makes him a good play in an easier matchup against the Raiders on Thursday.
Pittsburgh Steelers QB Aaron Rodgers went 25-for-35 for 203 yards and one touchdown against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 9.
Link to storyAaron Rodgers player page
New England Patriots QB Drake Maye completed 19-of-29 passes for 259 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in Week 9 against the Atlanta Falcons, and he ran eight times for 20 yards with one lost fumble.
Footballguys view: Maye wasn't perfect in this one and the Falcons defense deserves some respect, but he made all of the plays he needed to for the Patriots to win, and without Kayshon Boutte, who left early with a hamstring injury. He has arrived as a strong QB1 for fantasy, and Maye should be challenged to do even more to win in a matchup with Baker Mayfield and a rested Tampa team coming out of their bye.

Chicago Bears QB Caleb Williams completed 20-of-34- for 280 yards and three touchdowns, and he also caught a TD pass from DJ Moore on a trick play for the Bears' first score in Week 9 against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Footballguys view: Williams actually caught a second pass on a trick play that Tyson Bagent threw as Ben Johnson went deep into his bag of tricks in this game. Williams should be more confident after a choppy few weeks following the bye. He's worth a look as a streaming QB1 against the Giants next week.
Indianapolis Colts QB Daniel Jones went 31-for-50 for 342 yards, one touchdown and three interceptions against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 9. He also rushed for four yards and one touchdown on three carries but lost two fumbles as well.
Footballguys view: Jones rushing score came on the opening drive of the game, but the rest of the day was typified by turnovers against an opportunistic Steelers defense. While his fantasy showing was still good because of garbage time stats, but you wonder if his confidence was shaken by the five giveaways. He'll face another opportunistic defense when Atlanta comes to Indianapolis next week.

Atlanta Falcons QB Michael Penix Jr. completed 22-of-37 passes for 221 yards, a career-high three touchdowns and no interceptions in Week 9 against the New England Patriots, while running twice for 19 yards.
Footballguys view: Penix wasn't efficient, but he was effective when throwing to Drake London, and that was enough for three scores and a solid fantasy game for anyone that counted on him as a streamer or QB2/Superflex. He'll be an option in that role next week against the Colts in a game that will likely force Penix to throw a lot again.
Cincinnati Bengals QB Joe Flacco completed 31 of 47 for 470 yards and four touchdowns against two interceptions in Week 9 vs. the Chicago Bears.
Footballguys view: Flacco's injured throwing shoulder did not limit him whatsoever in this incredible game. He threw two scores in the last two minutes to redeem two fourth quarter turnovers and set the Bengals up for an improbable comeback win that included a successful onsides kick. Instead, a 58-yard score by Colston Loveland in the waning seconds gave the Bears the win (not before an interception on a hail mary attempt by Flacco). Fantasy teams that played Flacco don't care (unless they are Bengals fans), as Flacco posted one of the best fantasy games of the season by a quarterback. He'll get some well-earned rest during the bye.

New York Giants QB Jaxson Dart went 24-for-33 for 191 yards and two touchdowns against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 9. He also rushed for 56 yards and one touchdown on eight carries during the game.
Footballguys view: Two of the three touchdowns Dart accounted for came with the 49ers comfortably in the lead, but they all count the same for fantasy. While it was disappointing to see the Giants have so much trouble moving the ball against a 49ers defense that allowed 475 total yards to the Texans in Week 8, Dart still posted an elite fantasy showing thanks to his rushing ability and never say die mentality. He'll be a high ceiling QB1 against the Bears again next week.
Tennessee Titans QB Cam Ward completed 12-of-21 passes for 145 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions in Week 9 against the Los Angeles Chargers, while running twice for six yards with a pair of fumbles, although both were recovered.
Link to storyLos Angeles Chargers QB Justin Herbert completed 19-of-29 passes for 250 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in Week 9 against the Tennessee Titans, while running nine times for a game-high 57 yards and a score.
Footballguys view: Herbert had a great fantasy showing against the Titans thanks to a rushing score and a solid passing performance against a surprisingly competitive Titans defense. The Chargers did lose left tackle Joe Alt in this game, and his earlier absence from Weeks 5-7 seemed to hamper the offense. Herbert will face the Jekyll and Hyde Steelers defense next week.

San Francisco 49ers QB Mac Jones went 19-for-24 for 235 yards and two touchdowns against the New York Giants in Week 9. He also rushed for four yards on four carries during the game but did lose a fumble.
Footballguys view: Jones was highly efficient and kept the offense moving as the 49ers went with a successful ball control game plan for the second time in three games. He was still a viable streamer/QB2/Superflex and should be considered an upside play as a streamer or QB2/Superflex next week against the Rams if Brock Purdy is still not ready to go.

Houston Texans QB C.J. Stroud (concussion) has been ruled out for the rest of the Week 9 game against the Denver Broncos due to a concussion. He was knocked out in the first half, replaced by QB Davis Mills. Stroud finished 6-of-10 for 79 yards with 12 rushing yards. He was also sacked twice.
Footballguys view: Stroud took a hit during a slide at the end of a run. While the hit drew a penalty, it doesn't equal out what the Texans lost when Stroud left the game. He was coming off of his best performance of the season, but will be a bust for fantasy this week because of the injury. The Texans play the Jaguars next week. It's possible that Davis Mills will get the start.

San Francisco 49ers QB Brock Purdy (toe) has a good chance to be available as the emergency quarterback for Week 9's game versus the New York Giants, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Link to storyMiami Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa could be benched in favor of either QB Zach Wilson or QB Quinn Ewers later this season if he continues to turn the ball over at an alarming rate, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. He currently leads the league with 11 interceptions thrown this season.
Footballguys view: Tagovailoa looked like he was headed for a benching after back-to-back three interception games in Weeks 6 and 7. He came back to life with a four touchdown game against a sleepwalking Falcons defense in Week 8, but looked feeble against the Ravens on Thursday night. The Dolphins could be making some major changes over the second half of the season, including potentially dealing players before the impending trade deadline.

Arizona Cardinals LB BJ Ojulari (knee) was limited during practice Saturday, Nov. 1, but has been ruled out for Week 9. S Kitan Crawford (ankle), CB Will Johnson (groin), QB Kyler Murray (foot), DT Walter Nolen (calf) and CB Garrett Williams (knee) were limited during practice and are listed as questionable. DT Calais Campbell (non-injury) did not participate in practice but is not on the injury report. Arizona Cardinals QB Kyler Murray (foot) will not start in Week 9 but could have a role in the game if active, according to head coach Jonathan Gannon.
Footballguys view: Jacoby Brissett is going to start for the Cardinals in Week 9. The passing offense should be more efficient with him instead of Murray under center. Cardinals HC Jonathan Gannon has insisted Murray would be the starter when fully healthy, and apparently he needed more time to recover from this foot injury. If he's not healthy enough to start, we'd be surprised if they put him in as a subpackage player (if active).

Arizona Cardinals QB Jacoby Brissett will be the starting quarterback for the Week 9 game, according to head coach Jonathan Gannon.
Footballguys view: No real surprise here. The Cardinals cancelled Kyler Murray's media availability earlier in the week, and Brissett has taken the first-team reps. Brissett is a more efficient passer, and the passing game should be more effective. This is a boost for guys like TE Trey McBride and WR Marvin Harrison Jr. Brissett is an option for Fantasy GMs in start-2 QB/superflex leagues.

Cincinnati Bengals QB Joe Flacco (shoulder) is planning to start Week 9's game against the Chicago Bears, barring an unforeseen development with the AC joint in his right shoulder, according to multiple sources.
Footballguys view: Flacco is going to warm up before the game to test out his shoulder. He's planning on playing, but make sure to check when inactives are announced just in case. Jake Browning would start if Flacco can't go.
Joe Flacco player page
Cincinnati Bengals QB Joe Flacco (shoulder) will participate in pregame warmups Sunday, Nov. 2, to determine if he will play in Week 9's game versus the Chicago Bears.
Footballguys view: It seems Flacco is a game-time decision even though he's not being classified as such. He will see how the shoulder feels in pregame warmups, and Flacco will start provided there are no setbacks. Jake Browning would start if Flacco and the team decide he's unable to play.
Joe Flacco player page
Atlanta Falcons QB Michael Penix Jr. will start in Week 9 versus the New England Patriots, after having missed Week 8's game against the Miami Dolphins due to a knee injury.
Footballguys view: Penix missed last week, and Kirk Cousins was below average as the starter for the Falcons. We should see Penix perform in the QB2 range in Week 9 against the Patriots. He'll be limited athletically with this knee injury, but the Falcons offense gets a boost as no1 WR Drake London (hip) is set to play.
Updating a previous report, San Francisco 49ers QB Mac Jones will start Week 9's game versus the New York Giants.
Footballguys view: According to 49ers HC Kyle Shanahan, Brock Purdy could be available in Week 9 if need be. That means Purdy might be back next week. For the meantime, Jones gets another start as the 49ers look to bounce back after losing to the Texans in Week 8. Jones is a QB2 with upside for Fantasy GMs out there.
Mac Jones player page
San Francisco 49ers QB Brock Purdy (toe) will not start Week 9's game versus the New York Giants but still has a chance to be available, according to head coach Kyle Shanahan.
Footballguys view: Purdy could be available if the team needs him in Week 9. That means he's close to a return, but we'd be a bit ahead of ourselves to say Purdy will be ready to start in Week 10. Mac Jones is starting against the Giants.
