Cardinals | Chase Bisontis tears MCL Fri Aug 14, 08:21 PM
Arizona Cardinals OG Chase Bisontis (knee) suffered a torn medial collateral ligament and will require surgery that could sideline him for the entire 2026 season.
Link to storyCardinals head coach Mike LaFleur told reporters on Friday, Aug. 14, that he has 'no concern' over QB Carson Beck's rib injury.
Link to storyArizona Cardinals RB Jeremiyah Love rushed 11 times for 58 yards and caught three passes for 14 yards in the preseason game against the Las Vegas Raiders Thursday, Aug. 13.
Footballguys view: Love was as good as advertised, perhaps even better depending on your expectations. With the Cardinals offense also impressing, the chances of him delivering on his ADP near the 2/3 turn in 12-team leagues is going up. He did leave with a minor ankle issue, but head coach Mike LaFleur said Love is "fine" and that he could have returned to the game. This was an alarming amount of work for such a valuable player in the first preseason game, but the Cardinals believe that rookie running backs need more live reps in preseason to prepare them than they have been given in the past.
Arizona Cardinals WR Michael Wilson caught both of his targets for 23 yards in the preseason game against the Las Vegas Raiders Thursday, Aug. 13.
Footballguys view: The glass half empty take here is that Wilson gave way to Jalen Brooks for four snaps with the ones. The glass half full take is that Wilson still led the offense in catches and yards in that very small sample. With the Cardinals offense looking more game under Mike LaFleur, Wilson is becoming a more attractive pick around his 8th round ADP, especially in PPR leagues.

Arizona Cardinals WR Marvin Harrison Jr. caught a seven-yard touchdown against the Las Vegas Raiders during the preseason game Thursday, Aug. 13.
Footballguys view: Harrison led the wide receiver group in snaps, but ran the same number of routes as Michael Wilson and Kendrick Bourne. He was able to separate on a crossing route in the red zone and Jacoby Brissett stood in to deliver a laser into a crowd for the score. That should build Harrison's confidence. It will be difficult for Harrison to have a true breakout season in this crowded offense, but as long as Brissett starts, it could be productive enough for Harrison to deliver his ADP value - which is in the sixth round of most drafts.
Arizona Cardinals QB Jacoby Brissett completed all five of his pass attempts for 44 yards and a touchdown in the preseason game against the Las Vegas Raiders Thursday, Aug. 13.
Footballguys view: Brissett looked comfortable in Mike LaFleur's offense and zinged a short touchdown to Marvin Harrison Jr. on a crossing route that showed LaFleur understands how to use his receivers. The offensive line might have taken a big blow when second round pick Chase Bisontis went down with a knee injury that LaFleur called "not good", but otherwise it was an encouraging night for Brissett and the Cardinals offense.

Arizona Cardinals QB Gardner Minshew completed 14 of 16 passes for 101 yards and a pair of touchdowns in the team's 27-14 win over the Las Vegas Raiders on Thursday, Aug. 13.

Updating a previous report, Arizona Cardinals OG Chase Bisontis (knee) likely suffered a serious knee injury during the preseason game against the Las Vegas Raiders Thursday, Aug. 13, according to head coach Mike LaFleur.
Link to storyArizona Cardinals RB Jeremiyah Love (ankle) suffered an ankle injury during the preseason game against the Las Vegas Raiders Thursday, Aug. 13, but head coach Mike LaFleur said he doesn't believe the injury is serious.

Link to storyArizona Cardinals OG Chase Bisontis (knee) exited the preseason game against the Las Vegas Raiders Thursday, Aug. 13, with a knee injury and did not return.
Link to storyArizona Cardinals RB Tyler Allgeier rushed four times for 19 yards in the preseason game against the Las Vegas Raiders Thursday, Aug. 13.
Link to storyUpdating a previous report, Arizona Cardinals QB Carson Beck (rib) is not expected to miss extended time because of his rib injury, according to a source.
Link to storyArizona Cardinals QB Carson Beck (rib) will miss the team's preseason game on Thursday, Aug. 13. QB Jacoby Brissett is expected to start the game.
Link to storyArizona Cardinals QB Jacoby Brissett will play a series or two along with the other starters during the preseason game Thursday, Aug. 14.
Footballguys view: Brissett got his new contract around the start of camp, and he's set to start in Week 1. They may not win many games with Brissett as their starter, but the wide receivers do benefit from a veteran under center. Even though Brissett will begin the season as the starter, there's a chance they have an eye on the future and give Carson Beck a look late in the year.

Arizona Cardinals S Joey Blount (stinger) and TE Kenny Yeboah (hamstring) were both placed on season-ending injured reserve, according to a source on Saturday, Aug. 8.

Arizona Cardinals QB Carson Beck completed 15 of his 19 passes for 188 yards and a touchdown during the Hall of Fame Game against the Carolina Panthers Thursday, Aug. 6.
Footballguys view: Beck was the story of a surprisingly entertaining shootout to open the NFL preseason schedule. He was impressive enough that at least one Cardinals beat writer opined that the team needs to start Beck early in the season to see what they have him in before deciding what they will do at quarterback in 2027. This outcome was also a good sign for new head coach Mike LaFleur's offense and its ability to get wide receivers open.
Arizona Cardinals DE Josh Sweat (knee) is currently on the Active/Physically Unable to Perform list, but head coach Mike LaFleur said he believes Sweat will be ready for Week 1.

Arizona Cardinals RB Jeremiyah Love will not play in the Hall of Fame game, according to head coach Mike LaFleur.
Link to storyArizona Cardinals QB Carson Beck will start for the team in the Hall of Fame game on Thursday, Aug. 6.
Footballguys view: In announcing that Beck will get the start against the Panthers, head coach Mike LaFleur did not lay out the plan for the rest of the game for the quarterback spot, but it seems unlikely that Jacoby Brissett or Gardner Minshew would get tabbed for any work with the third-round pick starting the game. Kedon Slovis is the fourth quarterback on the roster in Arizona and will likely see playing time after Beck's night in Canton comes to an end.

Arizona Cardinals S Joey Blount (neck) will miss practice Sunday, Aug. 2, due to a stinger.
Link to storyArizona Cardinals DT Walter Nolen (undisclosed) avoided a serious injury when he left practice Friday, July 31, and will practice Sunday, Aug. 2, according to head coach Mike LaFleur.
Link to storyArizona Cardinals RB Tyler Allgeier is listed as the starting running back on the team's first unofficial depth chart.
Footballguys view: No surprise here as the Cardinals signed Allgeier to a two year, $12.25 million deal this offseason. Allgeier was a thorn in the side of Bijan Robinson fantasy teams during Robinson's rookie year after the Falcons took him in the top ten, and he is set to do that again to Jeremiyah Love, although Love is going a full round or more after Robinson - who had a late first round ADP - did in fantasy drafts when he was a rookie. If Love is going to hit this year, it's going to have to be with his passing game and big play contributions, because Allgeier isn't going away, and short yardage running is one of his strengths.
Arizona Cardinals DL P.J. Mustipher (foot) will be placed on season-ending injured reserve, according to HC Mike LaFleur on Saturday, Aug. 1.
Link to storyFree-agent DL Brodric Martin (Raiders) is signing with the Arizona Cardinals, according to sources.
Link to storyArizona Cardinals DT Walter Nolen (undisclosed) left practice early Friday, July 31, after suffering an apparent injury.
Link to storyArizona Cardinals RB Tyler Allgeier has been 'has been getting the majority of the carries' with the starters through the first eight days of training camp, according to Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com.
Footballguys view: The Cardinals have been expected to do this even though they spent the #3 overall pick on Jeremiyah Love. It's going to be tough for Love to pay off at ADP unless he is the team's leading passcatcher, which would be a problem for Trey McBride among others.
Arizona Cardinals CB Jaden Davis (undisclosed) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Friday, July 31.
Link to storyArizona Cardinals RB Jeremiyah Love and RB Tyler Allgeier shared snaps with the first-team offense during practice Sunday, July 26.
Footballguys view: Allgeier got the first rep, and the two alternated after that. While Love getting first-team snaps isn't a surprise, it's interesting to see the day after OC Nathaniel Hackett answered a question about Love by saying, "I mean, he's definitely a rookie." James Conner and Trey Benson are also practicing, so these first-team reps matter. We'll continue to monitor.
Arizona Cardinals TE Trey McBride said there are 'a lot' of things he is working to improve. 'I just want to keep getting better every day,' McBride said. 'And that's kind of my goal. And I'm going to keep trying to do that every year. And hopefully each year will exceed the previous.'
Footballguys view: That will be tough. McBride, coming off a monstrous 315.9-point campaign, finished 2025 with 126 receptions, 1,239 yards, and 11 touchdowns. That's 105.1 points more than Atlanta's Kyle Pitts Sr., who was the next highest scorer at the position. McBride averaged 18.6 fantasy points per game. His league-high 15 top-12 fantasy weeks were six more than any other player at the position. Concerns? McBride's 11 touchdowns last year nearly doubled his combined total of six scores over his first three seasons. Still, his second-round price tag makes him a reasonable buy at cost.
Arizona Cardinals WR Marvin Harrison Jr. (ankle, back) briefly exited practice on two occasions Sunday, July 26.
Footballguys view: Harrison pulled himself out of practice twice. The first time, after sitting on the field for a few moments, he stood up and pointed toward his left ankle while talking to a trainer. The second time, he looked to be in pain, grimacing a few times as he stood on the sideline. He appeared to stretch out his back, standing, and did a cobra pose twice. We'll follow up as needed. While Harrison was out, wide receiver Simi Fehoko got reps with the first-team offense, potentially signifying his place in the receiving rotation.
Arizona Cardinals WR Simi Fehoko saw reps with the first-team offense Sunday, July 26, after WR Marvin Harrison Jr. (ankle, back) left practice.

Arizona Cardinals QB Jacoby Brissett's deal is worth $15.5 million for one season, with upside to $21 million, according to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com on Sunday, July 26.
Link to storyJacoby Brissett player page
Arizona Cardinals QB Jacoby Brissett has reportedly agreed to terms on a new deal, according to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com on Sunday, July 26. Terms of the deal were not immediately disclosed.
Footballguys view: This is the best outcome you could have hoped for if you are planning on drafting any Arizona Cardinals. Whether that is a good idea is another story. This will keep fourth round pick Carson Beck from getting extensive first team practice reps to make a case to start earlier than later, but most expect Beck to start eventually one way or the other, which could crater whatever value this offense could produce for fantasy football.

Arizona Cardinals OT Paris Johnson Jr. (knee) was activated from the Active/Physically Unable to Perform list Saturday, July 25.
Link to storyArizona Cardinals QB Jacoby Brissett did not take any snaps during the 11-on-11 portion of training camp practice Friday, July 24. However, he did some individual work and threw passes to WR Marvin Harrison Jr. after practice.
Footballguys view: Brissett is set to be the starter for the Cardinals this year, but he's still playing on the two-year, $12.5 million contract he signed to backup Kyler Murray a year ago. Cardinals HC Mike LaFleur said the team has had "productive" negotiations with Brissett as they work toward a new contract. Once a new contract is worked out, Brissett should work as the starter in all drills.

Arizona Cardinals DL Kaleb Proctor (knee) will miss the entire 2026 following knee surgery, according to head coach Mike LaFleur.
Link to storyArizona Cardinals RB James Conner (ankle) practiced Thursday, July 23.
Footballguys view: It is important that Conner practices so that he can retain trade value for the Cardinals, who have four viable running backs, and potential fantasy value as a target for any team that needs a veteran running back to bolster their depth chart or replace a starter who goes down with a practice or preseason injury.
James Conner player page
Updating previous reports, Arizona Cardinals OT Paris Johnson Jr. (knee) and LB Josh Sweat (knee) are both on the Active/Physically Unable to Perform list because of knee injuries, but neither injury is considered serious. Head coach Mike LaFleur said both could be back at practice next week.
Footballguys view: Now we have expectations set by the team. If Johnson and Sweat are back next week, we can take this off of our list of situations to monitor. If not, then we'll have consider what this team would look like without their starting left tackle or best pass rusher.

Arizona Cardinals QB Jacoby Brissett is scheduled to participate in practice Thursday, July 23, according to head coach Mike LaFleur.
Footballguys view: There's no holdout here, as reportedly "productive" talks to add compensation to Brissett's contract are ongoing. Brissett is on track to start Week 1, but it sems unlikely that he will be starting in Week 18, and he could be replaced by fourth round pick Carson Beck once the team is out of playoff contention, or even once they have an extended losing streak.
