Cardinals | James Conner practices    Fri Jul 24, 05:29 PM

Arizona Cardinals RB James Conner (ankle) practiced Thursday, July 23.

Footballguys view: It is important that Conner practices so that he can retain trade value for the Cardinals, who have four viable running backs, and potential fantasy value as a target for any team that needs a veteran running back to bolster their depth chart or replace a starter who goes down with a practice or preseason injury.

Cardinals | Injury updates for two players    Fri Jul 24, 05:29 PM

Updating previous reports, Arizona Cardinals OT Paris Johnson Jr. (knee) and LB Josh Sweat (knee) are both on the Active/Physically Unable to Perform list because of knee injuries, but neither injury is considered serious. Head coach Mike LaFleur said both could be back at practice next week.

Footballguys view: Now we have expectations set by the team. If Johnson and Sweat are back next week, we can take this off of our list of situations to monitor. If not, then we'll have consider what this team would look like without their starting left tackle or best pass rusher.

Cardinals | Jacoby Brissett practices    Fri Jul 24, 05:29 PM

Arizona Cardinals QB Jacoby Brissett is scheduled to participate in practice Thursday, July 23, according to head coach Mike LaFleur.

Footballguys view: There's no holdout here, as reportedly "productive" talks to add compensation to Brissett's contract are ongoing. Brissett is on track to start Week 1, but it sems unlikely that he will be starting in Week 18, and he could be replaced by fourth round pick Carson Beck once the team is out of playoff contention, or even once they have an extended losing streak.

Cardinals | Jacoby Brissett report for camp    Thu Jul 23, 10:03 AM

Arizona Cardinals QB Jacoby Brissett reported for the start of training camp Wednesday, July 22, according to sources.

Footballguys view: Brissett wants to be paid as a starter, and he's been in talks with the team about getting a new contract that pays him appropriately. While talks may be ongoing, there's a chance Brissett is going to 'hold in' as things shake out. They have Gardner Minshew and Carson Beck as starting options if things go astray with Brissett.

Cardinals | Jacob Brissett expected to be at start of camp    Wed Jul 22, 02:50 PM

Arizona Cardinals QB Jacoby Brissett should be in attendance at the start of training camp for the team, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Footballguys view: Brissett will presumably be in attendance, but CBSSports.com suggests the veteran quarterback could still stage a "hold-in" due to his ongoing contract dispute. Per Rapoport, the Cardinals agree that a raise would be warranted for Brissett, but the two sides have not yet been able to come to terms on an exact figure.

Cardinals | Carson Beck signs rookie deal    Wed Jul 22, 02:08 PM

Arizona Cardinals QB Carson Beck signed his rookie contract for four years and $7.4 million on Wednesday, July 22.

Footballguys view: Beck was drafted in the third round (pick No. 65) in this year's draft. The 24-year-old rookie is expected to battle with Gardner Minshew for the backup job behind starter Jacoby Brissett -- assuming Brissett gets the contract he's after before the season starts.

Cardinals | Jacoby Brissett in talks for pay raise    Wed Jul 22, 12:16 AM

Arizona Cardinals QB Jacoby Brissett is in talks with the team on a pay raise, according to a report from NFL Network on Tuesday, July 21.

Footballguys view: "My understanding of the situation is the Arizona Cardinals are in agreement that Jacoby Brissett deserves more money," NFL Network's Ian Rapoport said. "The two sides have been negotiating for several months. They have not yet agreed on a number, but they do believe he is due a new deal and deserves one." Even though talks have been at a standstill, teammates clearly view Brissett as the starting quarterback. Carson Beck and Gardner Minshew are standing by, but Brissett took this offense to new heights last year, and fantasy managers should hope he ends up as the Week 1 starter.

Arizona Cardinals TE Tip Reiman (ankle) will make the 53-man roster if he is healthy for the start of the 2026 season, in the opinion of CardsWire's Jess Root.

Footballguys view: Known for his blocking prowess, Reiman played in all 17 games, starting nine, as a rookie, logging 450 snaps on offense and 189 on special teams. He had six catches for 37 yards. In 2025, his season ended in Week 4 when he suffered a season-ending ankle injury. He had three catches for 18 yards in four games and three starts. Working primarily as a blocker behind Trey McBride, Reiman has no fantasy value.

Cardinals | Jacoby Brissett hosts workout    Thu Jul 9, 11:29 AM

Arizona Cardinals QB Jacoby Brissett hosted a private workout with skill-position players including WR Marvin Harrison Jr. and TE Trey McBride. Brissett missed organized team activities due to a contract dispute.

Footballguys view: Brissett and the Cardinals are still at a standstill over an extension, but the players clearly view him as the starting quarterback. The Cardinals' quarterback room could remain fluid this year, with Carson Beck and Gardner Minshew both vying for starts. However, Brissett took this offense to new heights last year, and fantasy managers should hope he ends up as the Week 1 starter.

Cardinals | Kendrick Bourne on track for solid role    Tue Jul 7, 12:09 AM

Arizona Cardinals WR Kendrick Bourne is expected to be the No. 3 receiver for the Cardinals this upcoming season.

Footballguys view: Bourne enters his 10th NFL season and his first with the Cardinals. He has 313 career receptions for 4,008 yards in stints with the 49ers and Patriots, and his best season was in 2021 in New England, when he caught 55 passes for 800 yards and five touchdowns. Now almost 31 years old, can he produce at the level the Cardinals need from their No. 3 receiver, although he will be No. 4 among pass catchers, as tight end Trey McBride is one of the top targets.

Cardinals | Jeremiyah Love split reps    Wed Jul 1, 08:47 PM

Arizona Cardinals RB Jeremiyah Love took snaps with both the first and second teams during OTAs and minicamp.

Footballguys view: Drafted third overall, the expectation is that Love handles the bulk of the work in the Cardinals' offense. James Conner is 31 and coming off a torn ACL. Trey Benson, despite his alluring athletic profile, hasn't done much so far in the NFL. Love could struggle behind the Cardinals' offensive line, but the volume and talent could push him into a valuable role.

Cardinals | Jacoby Brissett seeking more guaranteed money    Tue Jun 30, 03:14 PM

Arizona Cardinals QB Jacoby Brissett is seeking more guaranteed money from the team ahead of the 2026 season, according to ESPN's Josh Weinfuss.

Footballguys view: Brissett left Arizona's mandatory minicamp without a reworked contract for 2026, leaving his situation in flux. He broke his offseason holdout during mandatory minicamp earlier this month to avoid being fined for not showing up, but he essentially turned his appearance into a hold-in. He's still looking for a reworked contract that will increase his guaranteed money from $1.5 million, according to Weinfuss. Coach Mike LaFleur said conversations with Brissett will be ongoing during the team's six-week break before the team reports to minicamp July 22. "We'll see where it goes," LaFleur said. Stay tuned.

Cardinals | Michael Wilson and Arizona working towards an extension    Tue Jun 30, 03:04 PM

Arizona Cardinals WR Michael Wilson is in talks with the team on a contract extension, and they are 'going great,' according to ESPN's Josh Weinfuss.

Footballguys view: As Weinfuss noted, Wilson is heading into his first contract year at exactly the right time. He's fresh off his first 1,000-yard season and was a key component to Arizona's offense in 2025, a role that'll likely continue into 2026. A 2023 third-round draft pick, Wilson knows that his 1,006 yards last season will help him "a lot" in his negotiations. Wilson hopes to stay in Arizona long-term, citing a desire to play for one team throughout his career. For our purposes, Wilson continues to offer great value as WR39 in Round 7.

Cardinals | Jacoby Brissett contract negotiations to continue    Sat Jun 27, 11:48 AM

Arizona Cardinals QB Jacoby Brissett continues to seek a reworked contract, according to head coach Mike LaFleur, who noted that both sides will engage in negotiations before training camp opens July 22.

Footballguys view: We'll see if the two sides can get something done before the start of training camp. Brissett's dissatisfaction reportedly stems from his current deal only containing $1.5 million of guaranteed money for the 2026 season. Deals get done at deadlines, and after an offseason where the reports about movement were virtually non-existent, it's good to get a bit of news.

Cardinals | Michael Wilson hoping for new deal    Sat Jun 27, 10:25 AM

Arizona Cardinals WR Michael Wilson said extension talks are 'going great' and that he is hopeful to remain with the Cardinals moving forward. 'That being said, I also do love the Cardinals organization and I truly do want to be one of those guys that plays for one organization their whole career,' Wilson said. 'That is a goal of mine, and how cool would it be?'

Footballguys view: Earlier this offseason, Cardinals GM Monti Ossenfort said Wilson "is about everything we want in our program to be about, and hopefully he is here for a long time." This year, Wilson is likely to play the "Z" receiver for HC Mike LaFleur. Giving Wilson clean releases makes him even more dangerous, and we like considering him as a flex play with plenty of upside.

Cardinals | Devin Duvernay to provide some juice    Thu Jun 25, 11:08 AM

Arizona Cardinals WR Devin Duvernay's speed is expected to add a 'dynamic element' to the Arizona return game and potentially the passing game, according to Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com.

Footballguys view: Duvernay only lasted one year with the Jaguars, and the Cardinals were able to add him this offseason to give him another fresh start. He's got speed, but Duvernay is mostly a special teams player who can stretch the field on offense. The 'dynamic' he adds is mostly going to be on teams.

Cardinals | WR Devin Duvernay showcases his speed during OTAs    Tue Jun 23, 01:10 PM

Duvernay, who signed a one-year deal in March and is on his fourth team in four years, showcased his speed throughout OTAs and minicamp in drills on offense and special teams.

Footballguys view: As ESPN.com's Josh Weinfuss noted, Duvernay's quickness will add a dynamic element to the Cardinals' return game and, if/when he's used, as a receiver. Fantasy investors, however, should realize that Durvernay will likely compete for Greg Dortch's role on special teams and in the offense. Footballguy Matt Waldman believes this could lead to occasional fantasy value, but not a predictable amount.

Cardinals | Carson Beck putting in the work    Sat Jun 20, 12:32 PM

Arizona Cardinals QB Carson Beck said he has been putting in 13-hour days at the team facility to try to learn the offense. 'I've been here a ton, been around the guys, been around the coaches, meeting and trying to learn everything as quick as possible,' Beck said.

Footballguys view: A third-round pick for the Cardinals in the 2026 NFL Draft, Beck could be the future franchise quarterback. He was successful at two major programs in college (Georgia, Miami), and Beck is seen as a high-end game manager in the pros. Beck begins his pro career as the no.2 quarterback behind Jacoby Brissett. There is also the speculation that the Cardinals would be interested in Texas Tech QB Brendan Sorsby in the Supplemental Draft. Stay tuned.

Cardinals | Jeremiyah Love expected to start    Sat Jun 20, 12:32 PM

Arizona Cardinals RB Jeremiyah Love will likely be the starting running back when the 2026 season begins, in the opinion of AZCardinals.com's Darren Urban.

Footballguys view: No surprise here. Love was the no.3 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft coming out of Notre Dame, and he's got Jahmyr Gibbs-like ability in the NFL. He's currently in a cramped backfield, but Tyler Allgeier should be the no.2 back for the Cardinals, and James Conner might be on another team by the trade deadline. Love is a high-end RB2 with clear upside.

Cardinals | Coach excited about Tip Reiman     Fri Jun 19, 04:18 PM

Cardinals | James Conner should be ready for camp    Sun Jun 14, 06:11 PM

Arizona Cardinals RB James Conner (ankle, foot) should be available for the start of training camp, according to head coach Mike LaFleur.

Footballguys view: Conner is cheap at only a little over $2 million, but most of it is guaranteed. Once he is healthy enough to practice, he could be a candidate to be traded to a team that suffers an injury at running back in camp or the preseason, or otherwise isn't pleased with what they see. Washington and Seattle are both possibilities.

Cardinals | Jacoby Brissett sits out on-field work     Tue Jun 9, 09:07 PM

Arizona Cardinals Jacoby Brissett did not participate in on-field work during the Tuesday, June 9 minicamp, according to a report.

Footballguys view: Brissett is back at camp after a public contract dispute, but isn't participating in on-field work yet. He could just be getting warmed up and return as soon as tomorrow, but this is worth watching. With a new coaching staff, veteran Gardner Minshew should have a chance to win the Week 1 starting job. Third-round rookie Carson Beck will also push for snaps at some point this season. It's tough to know who will start the most games this year, or even in Week 1. This could be a fluid quarterback room all season. Brissett has proven capable of supporting multiple weapons in this offense, so fantasy managers should hope he'll return soon and regain his role as QB1.

Cardinals | Jeremiyah Love sees work as returner    Tue Jun 9, 12:25 AM

Arizona Cardinals RB Jeremiyah Love has received work as a kick returner during offseason workouts, but special teams coordinator Michael Ghobiel indicated that Love may only be an emergency option for the position.

Footballguys view: Please note the "an emergency option" portion of that news. The Cardinals didn't use the third pick overall to have Love work as a return man. He's there to be the lead back in Mike LaFleur's offense. Will he share with Tyler Allgeier, James Conner and/or Trey Benson. To some degree. But Love's RB13 ADP isn't out of line and a top-10 fantasy finish this season is in his range of outcomes.

Cardinals | Jacoby Brissett officially reports    Mon Jun 8, 02:21 PM

Updating a previous report, Arizona Cardinals QB Jacoby Brissett officially reported for the mandatory minicamp Monday, June 8.

Footballguys view: Again, it's not clear how much on-field work Brissett will do after missing all the team's voluntary OTA sessions. Rookie Carson Beck and Gardner Minshew worked with the first team offense in Brissett's absence. We'll continue to monitor the situation, but it's widely believed the two sides will come to an agreement before the season starts. The question will be how much work Brissett does until then.

Cardinals | Jacoby Brissett to arrive this week    Mon Jun 8, 11:27 AM

Arizona Cardinals QB Jacoby Brissett plans to report to minicamp this week despite a contract dispute.

Footballguys view: Because it's a mandatory minicamp, Brissett was at risk of being fined a total of $107,911 if he didn't show up. He's missed all the team's voluntary OTA sessions up to this point. Brissett will report as the Cardinals' presumed starter, but it's uncertain how much on-field work he will do. Rookie Carson Beck and Gardner Minshew have taken more snaps in Brissett's absence. Brissett wants a restructured contract for this season. His deal currently pays him $4.88 million, with the potential to grow to $5.39 million, of which only $1.5 million is guaranteed.

Cardinals | Josh Sweat not being traded    Wed Jun 3, 11:51 AM

Arizona Cardinals DE Josh Sweat is not being traded, according to NFL insider Ian Rapoport.

Footballguys view: Speculation about Sweat's future with the Cardinals had picked up over the course of his absence from the team's offseason program, but coach Mike LaFleur sent a similar message last week about Sweat's future. As Profootballtalk.com notes, Sweat also missed the voluntary portions of the offseason work after signing a four-year, $76.4 million deal with Arizona last year. He had 30 tackles, 12 sacks, four forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery in his first season with the team. Sweat will get a chance to add to those totals in a Cardinals uniform this fall.

Cardinals | Marvin Harrison to change positions in '26    Wed Jun 3, 12:20 AM

Arizona Cardinals coach Mike LaFleur said WR Marvin Harrison will play the X receiver, with WR Michael Wilson as the Z receiver.

Footballguys view: LaFleur compared the role Harrison would play to the one Davante Adams handles for the Rams (where LaFleur was the offensive coordinator) and the one Julio Jones handles for the Falcons (where LaFleur was an offensive assistant). LaFleur compared the Z receiver Wilson will handle to Puka Nacua's role with the Rams. That receiver plays closer to the offensive formation and has more responsibilities as a blocker in the running game. Like Nacua, Wilson is unafraid of getting his hands dirty as a blocker. We'll be watching how this all plays out when the Cardinals open training camp next month.

Cardinals | Jacoby Brissett 'just fine' missing OTAs    Thu May 28, 01:14 PM

Arizona Cardinals coach Mike LaFleur says QB Jacoby Brissett is 'just fine' despite him missing time at the team's OTAs.

Footballguys view: Brissett is entering the second year of a two-year deal he signed in March 2025. He is scheduled to make $4.88 million in 2026, with a max value of $5.39 million, but only $1.5 million is guaranteed. Despite LaFleur bringing a new scheme, the coach cites Brissett's 10 seasons across six teams. "He's played a lot of ball," LaFleur said, "So, he'll be just fine." Arizona will hold a mandatory minicamp on June 8-10, which will result in a fine of $107,911 for any player who misses all three days.

Cardinals | Jacoby Brissett absent from OTAs    Wed May 27, 12:18 AM

Arizona Cardinals QB Jacoby Brissett did not report to organized team activities on Tuesday, May 26, as he continues his holdout.

Footballguys view: This was expected. Brissett wants a contract that reflects his starting status with the team. He has not attended any of the team's prior voluntary OTAs or the voluntary offseason program as he awaits a new deal. Even with recent reports suggesting the two sides are far apart, Brissett should be in attendance for a mandatory minicamp in June -- with or without a new contract. We'll be watching for that. Meanwhile, rookie Carson Beck and veteran Gardner Minshew continue to get additional work in OTAs.
