Jaguars | Travis Hunter on track for camp    Wed Jul 8, 08:22 PM

Jacksonville Jaguars WR/CB Travis Hunter (knee) will be a 'full go' for training camp, according to Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network.

Footballguys view: Hunter was limited through OTAs while returning from last year's torn LCL, so this is great news. The big question for fantasy managers has been regarding his deployment on both sides of the ball. NFL Network's Cameron Wolfe stated yesterday that he expects Hunter to be a full-time defensive player, and the Jaguars' offseason moves signal as much. Hunter has contingent upside as a late-round target in fantasy drafts, and we'll hope for more information on his role throughout training camp.

Jaguars | Brian Thomas Jr. in top form    Sat Jun 27, 10:25 AM

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Brian Thomas Jr. was the 'most impressive offensive player' during spring activities, according to Michael DiRocco of ESPN.com.

Footballguys view: The arrow is pointing way up for Thomas, and all reports indicate his offseason is going great. In fact, some of the best news we've seen reported is that Thomas and QB Trevor Lawrence have worked on their chemistry. Thomas had a down season in 2025, but he could be in for a big year as the team enters year 2 of the Liam Coen era (and offense). He's a WR3 with upside to easily work his way into WR2 territory.

Jaguars | Trevor Lawrence locked in    Fri Jun 26, 02:19 PM

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence had the best spring of his career, according to head coach Liam Coen. 'He's got such a grasp for it that you're hopeful that it allows him to just go be him and go be the best version of himself as we saw so much towards the back half of the last year and taking growth from that,' Coen said.

Footballguys view: Lawrence really hit his stride last year in the second half of the season. He and Coen seem to be a great combination, and we expect the Jaguars to only get more dangerous on offense this season. That makes Lawrence a QB1, likely to finish in the top-10 at the position. However, there's a chance he could finish in the top-5 or even as the no.1 quarterback in fantasy football.

Jaguars | Brenton Strange agrees to terms on three-year, $48 million extension    Wed Jun 24, 03:08 PM

The Jaguars and standout TE Brenton Strange have agreed to terms on a three-year extension worth up to $48 million, with $25 million guaranteed, his agents told NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

Footballguys view: In a speculative piece published by ESPN.com earlier today, Jaguars beat writer Michael DiRocco suggested the team wouldn't rush this deal. Turns out the Jaguars were a little more eager than we realized -- and with good reason. The offense was noticeably better with Strange on the field. The Penn State product, who is being drafted as TE20, caught 46 passes for 540 yards and three TDs in 12 games last season, becoming a key part of Trevor Lawrence and Jacksonville's offensive scheme.

Jaguars | JAC have had talks with Brenton Strange    Wed Jun 24, 01:27 PM

Jacksonville Jaguars TE Brenton Strange has had preliminary contract extension talks with the Jaguars this offseason, but the team does not appear to be in a rush to make a deal, according to ESPN.com's Michael DiRocco.

Footballguys view: The Jaguars have been willing to negotiate and close deals during the season, so not having a deal in place before or during training camp is not a bad sign. As DiRocco noted, it's clear how much Strange means to the Jaguars' success: They were 11-1 and averaged 30.1 points per game when he played; they were 2-3 and averaged 22.6 points in the five games he missed last season because of a hip injury. Strange is currently being drafted as TE20. That leaves a lot of room for upside if you're waiting to draft your second TE.

Jaguars | Jakobi Meyers falling back?    Wed Jun 24, 10:27 AM

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Jakobi Meyers could be falling back in the pecking order behind WRs Brian Thomas Jr. and Parker Washington. ESPN insider Cameron Wolfe believes Thomas and Washington will be the leading receivers for the team.

Footballguys view: Last season, Meyers jumped into the spotlight after the Jaguars acquired him in a trade with Las Vegas. The veteran quickly established himself as Trevor Lawrence's go-to target. In addition to catching 42 passes for 483 yards and three touchdowns for Jacksonville, Bleacher Report notes he also returned a 95.2 passer rating when targeted, which is impressive for a player joining a new system midseason. One reason for that? As GM James Gladstone said, Meyers' "superpower is not dropping the football." While his upside is capped by Brian Thomas Jr. and Parker Washington, Meyers' WR42 ADP is reasonable.

Jaguars | Brian Thomas Jr. to stretch the field    Wed Jun 24, 10:21 AM

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Brian Thomas Jr. will be used a lot on vertical routes down the field, according to a source.

Footballguys view: As SI.com suggested, Thomas was not at his best as a deep threat a year ago, which led the Jaguars to make adjustments to their passing game for much of the season. But we saw what his vertical ability can do for the offense in 2024. If Thomas can be as effective this year as he was during his rookie season, the Jaguars' passing game could be even more potent and explosive than it was last year when Trevor Lawrence was an MVP candidate. With all the positive buzz coming from OTAs, Thomas' ADP is rising; he's currently WR33.

Jaguars | Brian Thomas Jr. strengthening chemistry with QB    Mon Jun 22, 01:41 PM

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Brian Thomas Jr. and Trevor Lawrence have 'taken a huge step' in building their rapport this offseason, according to John Oehser of the team's website.

Footballguys view: After recording nearly 1,300 yards and finishing the season as fantasy's WR2 in 2024 as a rookie, Thomas Jr. totaled only 707 yards this past season. This included dealing with dropped passes and catching just 49 percent of the passes thrown his way. So one of the points of emphasis this offseason has been Thomas Jr. and Lawrence continuing to build their chemistry within Liam Coen's offense. While it's still early, the reporting from OTAs and minicamp has been positive. That's good news because Thomas Jr. is the first Jaguar WR off the board as WR33.

Jaguars | Tanner Koziol showing complete game    Sun Jun 21, 01:46 PM

Jacksonville Jaguars TE Tanner Koziol has performed well in both the passing game and as a blocker, according to tight ends coach Richard Angulo. 'And honestly, he's been really good in the run game too, you know,' Angulo said. 'So just understanding, you know, his strengths, his length, he's got strong hands, so just really excited to see what he can do, honestly, in both phases.'

Footballguys view: Koziol is a huge target (6-feet, 7-inches) and can play 'above the rim' near pay dirt. While not known as a devastating blocker, it's good to hear that he's impressing his pro coaches in that department. The fifth-round pick gets to learn behind Brenton Strange and fellow rookie Nate Boerkircher (Jaguars second-round pick) in 2026.

Jaguars | Jacksonville pursued J.K. Dobbins    Tue Jun 16, 01:21 PM

Denver Broncos RB J.K. Dobbins was close to a contract agreement with the Jacksonville Jaguars this offseason before deciding to re-sign with the Broncos, according to a source.

Footballguys view: This could be an indication that the Jaguars want to have a running back committee with a strong between the tackles runner to pair with Bhayshul Tuten. Chris Rodriguez Jr. is out after having foot surgery earlier in the offseason. He was the back the Jags pivoted to when they didn't land Dobbins.

Jaguars | LeQuint Allen to handle third downs?    Mon Jun 15, 04:12 PM

Jacksonville Jaguars RB LeQuint Allen 'appears to once again be primed for a role on passing downs,' according to John Shipley of SI.com.

Footballguys view: Allen was one of the best pass blocking backs in the league - as a rookie - and he is not a scatback at 6'0", 204 pounds. He is an excellent receiver, who should get more targets in his second year, and he could surprise if injuries press him into duty on early downs. Keep him on your waiver wire speed dial at least until Chris Rodriguez is healthy.

Jaguars | WR Washington a Core Piece of the Passing Game?    Sat Jun 13, 04:26 PM

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Parker Washington "is set to be a core piece of what the Jaguars do in the passing game" according to Sports Illustrated's John Shipley.

Footballguys view: Jaguars HC Liam Coen is ready to unleash an even better passing game in 2026, and Washington's ability to move around the formation is a part of that. Fantasy GMs need to keep their head on a swivel here. He's a WR4 from a fantasy perspective, but with a role on a dangerous passing game, Washington could easily move into every-week flex appeal.

Jaguars | Foot injury for Chris Rodriguez    Tue Jun 9, 12:30 AM

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Chris Rodriguez Jr. (foot) recently underwent a procedure on a foot injury he suffered during the offseason but is expected to be ready for the start of training camp, according to a source.

Footballguys view: As USA Today notes, Rodriguez was the lone outside addition made by the Jaguars this offseason during the free agency period. He will be competing with Bhayshul Tuten for the top spot on the Jaguars' running back depth chart, but regardless of who holds the RB1 title, both players will be big factors on offense this season. But Rodriguez will need to recover as expected. We'll be watching for more on that when training camp opens.

Jaguars | Bhayshul Tuten had made strides    Mon Jun 8, 12:14 AM

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Bhayshul Tuten is running better during OTAs this season than he was last year, according to head coach Liam Coen.

Footballguys view: According to SI.com's John Shipley, Tuten looked like he was picking up steam during OTAs. Coen also said Tuten looks like he is more in tune with the scheme now than as a rookie. With veteran Chris Rodriguez Jr. missing time with an unspecified issue, Tuten could use minicamp to solidify himself in the room further. However, it remains to be seen to what extent. We'll certainly be watching. Tuten is currently being drafted as RB25, a price that accounts for both the upside and the uncertain role.

Jaguars | CJ Williams making early impression    Mon Jun 8, 12:06 AM

Jacksonville Jaguars WR CJ Williams has 'arguably been the top backup receiver' during the offseason program, according to John Shipley of SI.com, and Shipley believes Williams will earn a spot on the receiver depth chart.

Footballguys view: Shipley added that after a few weeks of seeing him on the practice field, it is hard to imagine a scenario where Williams is not a part of the wide receiver depth chart in some fashion or another in 2026. Williams has arguably been the top backup receiver on the practice field so far this offseason program, and each backup quarterback has enjoyed throwing his way. There will be more competition in training camp, but so far, Williams has looked like he is ahead of each of them when it comes to practice field impact.

Jaguars | Josh Hines-Allen looks to build on success    Sun Jun 7, 03:18 PM

Jacksonville Jaguars DE Josh Hines-Allen has collected at least eight sacks in each of the past two seasons, but he is looking to get back to his 2023 form which saw him record a franchise-record 17.5 sacks. He sees a jump in production possible in 2026 in his second season with defensive coordinator Anthony Campanile. 'I think the sky's the limit for myself this year,' Hines-Allen said. 'Year 2 [in a new defensive system] I feel like is always going to be the biggest jump.'

Jaguars | Brian Thomas performing well    Sat Jun 6, 02:42 PM

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Brian Thomas Jr. has been making plays during the voluntary workouts and said he is feeling healthy after dealing with injuries in 2025.

Footballguys view: This matches earlier reports about Thomas. Jaguars HC Liam Coen wants to go deep a bit more, and that's where Thomas comes in. We'll be monitoring his chemistry with QB Trevor Lawrence throughout training camp and the preseason.

Jaguars | Brian Thomas Jr. clicking with QB    Fri Jun 5, 12:51 AM

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Brian Thomas Jr. and QB Trevor Lawrence have been putting in extra reps this offseason to improve their chemistry. 'We've put a lot of work in throughout all spring really of just trying to get the timing down, the chemistry, all those things, get on the same page, and it's starting to pay off,' Lawrence said.

Footballguys view: We love hearing this, and we'd love to see this chemistry continue into training camp and the regular season. Reports from Jaguars camp say they're going deep early and often with Thomas being on the receiving end of a lot of those passes. Per Jaguars HC Liam Coen, they did want to improve the deep passing and chemistry between Thomas and Trevor Lawrence.

Jaguars | Bhayshul Tuten looking to improve    Wed Jun 3, 04:31 PM

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Bhayshul Tuten said he is looking to improve his pass protection and receiving skills this offseason. Tuten also hopes to improve his field vision.

Footballguys view: After being drafted in the fourth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, strong performances in training camp and the preseason catapulted Tuten to RB2, behind Travis Etienne. With Etienne's departure, Tuten is primed to have a breakout year, even if head coach Liam Coen favors more of a rotation at running back, with both Tuten and Chris Rodriguez Jr. taking regular snaps. Still, the more Tuten can do to stay on the field, the better his chances of handling a lead role become. The Jaguars' backfield will be one to watch closely this summer.

Jaguars | Coach happy with Brian Thomas Jr.    Mon Jun 1, 03:50 PM

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Brian Thomas Jr. has been impressive during voluntary workouts and has been doing well during team meetings, according to head coach Liam Coen.

Footballguys view: After recording nearly 1,300 yards in 2024 as a rookie, Thomas Jr. totaled only 707 yards this past season. This included dealing with dropped passes and catching just 49 percent of the passes thrown his way. So one of the points of emphasis this offseason has been Thomas Jr. and Trevor Lawrence continuing to build their chemistry within the Coen offense. While it's still early, the two are off to a strong start in offseason programs and OTAs in that regard. That's good news because Thomas Jr. is the first Jaguar WR off the board as WR36.

Jaguars | Parker Washington looking sharp    Sun May 31, 03:03 PM

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Parker Washington has 'looked dynamic as he ever has' during OTAs, according to John Shipley of SI.com.

Footballguys view: It doesn't look like the Jaguars are going to trade Brian Thomas Jr. this offseason, and they have said that the plan for Travis Hunter to play on both sides of the ball has not changed, so the pass offense appears to be crowded. Washington was able to rise above late last season and in the wild card loss to the Bills. He hasn't slowed down and the team is talking about cross-training him for inside/outside versatility. He could be the best "buy high" player in dynasty leagues right now.

Jaguars | More deep balls for Brian Thomas Jr.?    Sat May 30, 05:32 PM

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Brian Thomas Jr.'s chemistry with QB Trevor Lawrence in the deep passing game has been a focus this offseason, according to head coach Liam Coen. 'Our average depth of target went up towards the second half of the season, but we've got to keep pushing that envelope a little bit - especially with him and BT, that connection,' Coen said.

Footballguys view: Thomas should be the main deep target in the Jaguars offense, but he, Jakobi Meyers, and Parker Washington are all going to play large roles, and their fantasy values will be determined by how well they execute and riff with Trevor Lawrence. Washington dominated in OTAs, so Thomas still has work to do to justify his ADP being ahead of the hottest Jaguars receiver at the end of the season.

Jaguars | Chris Rodriguez Jr. not practicing    Sat May 30, 05:32 PM

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Chris Rodriguez Jr. (undisclosed) did not practice and was seen riding a stationary back at practice Tuesday, May 26. Head coach Liam Coen did not comment on the specifics of Rodriguez's injury.

Footballguys view: Coen did not seem worried, but we would like to know more about the nature of Rodriguez's absence before writing this off as nothing to be concerned about. The free agent signing is expected to be part of a three-headed committee with 2025 fourth round pick Bhayshul Tuten and 2025 seventh round pick LeQuint Allen, with an edge in short yardage and inside running. Tuten and Allen are both impressing his absence, and could make it an uphill climb for Rodriguez to earn more work than expected, but Coen's familiarity with Rodriguez could offset that.

Jaguars | No clear No. 1 back for Jaguars    Wed May 27, 02:27 PM

Jacksonville Jaguars RBs Bhayshul Tuten, Chris Rodriguez Jr. and LeQuint Allen are expected to receive playing time this upcoming season, but head coach Liam Coen said the team does not have a No. 1 running back at this point and there will be a competition during training camp for playing time.

Footballguys view: Tuten was being drafted in the fifth round as RB23 immediately after the NFL Draft. He's RB25 now. Rodriguez is RB45, available in Round 11. For fantasy investors, that's the entire problem in three sentences. The fifth-round price assumes Tuten gets the lion's share -- the carries, the goal-line work, the passing-down snaps -- of the workload. We're not there yet. We'll be following up on this situation often in the coming weeks, so stay tuned.

Jaguars | Parker Washington in line for an extension?    Wed May 27, 12:17 AM

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Parker Washington could be in line for a contract extension similar to what Green Bay Packers WR Jayden Reed received and what Seattle Seahawks WR Rashid Shaheed received in free agency, in the opinion of Sports Illustrated's John Shipley on Tuesday, May 26.

Footballguys view: After flashes during his first two seasons, in which his second year saw his production take a solid step forward, Washington took his game to another level in 2025. After an injury to Travis Hunter ahead of Week 9 led the Jaguars to elevate Washington's role, he became arguably the Jaguars' most productive receiver. Washington set career-highs and led the team with 58 receptions for 847 yards and five touchdowns last season. Extension or not, Washington is currently being drafted as WR39, after teammate Brian Thomas, Jr. (WR36).

Jaguars | Nate Boerkircher signs rookie deal    Thu May 21, 11:30 AM

Jacksonville Jaguars second-round draft choice TE Nate Boerkircher signed a four-year contract with the Jaguars Wednesday, May 20. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Footballguys view: Boerkircher is a traditional "Y" tight end. He's mainly a blocker, and he can be a devastating blocker for the Jaguars. Fantasy GMs aren't getting points for blocks, so the rookie may not have much value in our game - even in dynasty formats. Brenton Strange is the team's move tight end and best receiving weapon at the position.

Jaguars | Trevor Lawrence considered elite by veteran DL    Mon May 18, 12:35 AM

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence is '100 percent' in the conservation of elite quarterbacks in the NFL, according to teammate DL Arik Armstead. 'The steps that he's taken this year to improve. A big area for me and what solidified it for me was that Denver game on the road,' Armstead said. 'Denver coming in, an elite defense, one of the best defenses in the leagues, pass rush, blitzes, playmakers all over the field. They were sending pressure at him, they were throwing zero looks, they were rushing with four with some great guys.'

Footballguys view: It's a fair assessment. After all, Lawrence played the best football of his five-year NFL career over the second half of last season. The Jaguars won eight consecutive games (and averaged an NFL-best 33.6 points per game over that span) to close out the regular season. Lawrence scored 24 total touchdowns, 19 of them through the air, with just five interceptions during that stretch. He finished the season as QB4 with 342.2 fantasy points, but was QB1 from Weeks 10 through 17. Lawrence is currently being drafted as QB10.

Jacksonville Jaguars WR/CB Travis Hunter's role with the team has not changed despite rumors that he would have a greater role on the defensive side of the ball in 2026, according to head coach Liam Coen.

Footballguys view: Hunter is worth a late round pick to see if he gets enough involvement and makes enough plays to be relevant in fantasy leagues despite being a two-way player. He also makes Trevor Lawrence an even more attractive target to be your QB1 once 6-7 quarterbacks are off of the board.

Free-agent RB Ameer Abdullah (Colts) signed an undisclosed deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars Monday, May 11. RB Ja'Quinden Jackson was waived.

Footballguys view: Abdullah, who turns 33 in June, spent last season with the Colts, mainly playing special teams. However, he did have 60 yards rushing with one touchdown, along with 16 catches for 99 yards. He spent the previous three seasons with the Raiders, posting 311 rushing yards with two TDs plus 40 catches for 261 yards with three touchdowns in 2024. We'll see if Jaguars GM James Gladstone found a diamond in the rough or not. Fantasy GMs in super deep dynasty leagues should monitor the rookie.

Jacksonville Jaguars fifth-round draft choice TE Tanner Koziol signed a four-year contract with the Jaguars Thursday, May 7. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Footballguys view: Koziol is huge and knows how to use his body to get the ball in contested situations. He begins his pro career likely behind both Brenton Strange and fellow rookie Nate Boerkircher. In super deep dynasty leagues (especially those with tight end premiums), we are monitoring Koziol closely.

Jaguars | Travis Hunter will still have offensive role    Thu May 7, 05:11 PM

Jacksonville Jaguars WR/CB Travis Hunter will still see work as a wide receiver during the 2026 season but will see an increase in snaps at cornerback during the season, according to general manager James Gladstone.

Footballguys view: Hunter is not going to exclusively play cornerback as some had previously suggested. Not only has Hunter pushed back on that, but now the Jaguars GM says the same thing. Hunter can be a playmaker on both sides of the ball, but many Fantasy GMs are nervous about his usage at wide receiver this year. His fantasy value in year two may not be what some wanted/expected, but Hunter can have a fantasy impact (perhaps in the flex range).

Jaguars | Nate Boerkircher to help run game?    Mon May 4, 12:52 AM

Jacksonville Jaguars TE Nate Boerkircher was drafted to help the offense run the ball in heavier sets, in the opinion of John Shipley of SI.com.

Footballguys view: Shipley went on to note the Jaguars have made their intentions clear from the jump that this pick was about getting better at 12 and 13 personnel in a year in which half of the NFL is trending in that direction. That is what Shipley believes Boerkircher is here to help the Jaguars do. Add his blocking ability to Liam Coen's ability to scheme tight ends open in the passing game, and Shipley thinks it is fair to expect the Jaguars' offense to improve in this area.

Virginia RB J'Mari Taylor, Montana State WR Michael Wortham, South Dakota State WR Alex Bullock and Troy TE Ethan Conner signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars as undrafted free agents Saturday, April 25.

Footballguys view: Taylor is a hard-nosed back that most expected to get drafted in what ended up being one of the worst running back classes (in terms of draft capital) in the history of the draft. He is a short but thickly built back with good feet and eyes for the zone running game and potential as a passing down back. He's a name worth remembering given the uncertain future of the Jaguars backfield.
