Updating a previous report, Denver Broncos quarterbacks coach Davis Webb was officially named the team's new offensive coordinator Monday, Feb. 2.
Footballguys view: Still only 31 years old, Webb had multiple head coaching interviews in recent weeks. The former NFL QB will stay in Denver for another season, and figures to be a hot head coaching candidate again next year. Until then, having his former position coach move up the ladder while remaining in Denver is good news for Bo Nix and his fantasy investors. For what it's worth, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports the Broncos are promoting Logan Kilgore to QB coach.

Denver Broncos offensive quality control coach Logan Kilgore will take over as the team's quarterbacks coach next season.
Footballguys view: Kilgore spent the past three seasons in that offensive quality control coach role in Denver. He also has three additional years of coaching experience, including stints at Bakersfield College (Quarterbacks/Pass Game Coordinator), Arkansas State (Offensive Analyst) and Isidore Newman (La.) High School (Offensive Coordinator/Quarterbacks). In Denver, Kilgore has spent time working closely with the Broncos' tight end room and with the team's returners.
The Broncos are promoting Davis Webb to offensive coordinator, sources tell NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.
Link to storyDenver Broncos defensive coordinator Vance Joseph is expected to return as the DC for the 2026 season, according to multiple sources.
Footballguys view: With the final two head coach openings (in Arizona and Las Vegas) now filled, Joseph, 53, sticks around in Denver for what will be his fourth year as defensive coordinator. Year 3 was a phenomenal ride, and Joseph's defense played a pivotal part in the Broncos winning 14 games and the AFC West crown for the first time in a decade, clinching the No. 1 seed in the conference.
Denver Broncos passing game coordinator and quarterbacks coach Davis Webb has officially interviewed for the offensive coordinator position for the team, and he is considered the leading candidate in Denver.
Footballguys view: Davis, Denver's offensive pass game coordinator/quarterbacks coach, becomes the third known candidate to have interviewed for the job since head coach Sean Payton fired Joe Lombardi last Tuesday. Buffalo quarterbacks coach Ronald Curry interviewed on Thursday, and Washington assistant head coach and offensive pass game coordinator Brian Johnson interviewed on Friday. We'll watch for more, but a promotion for Webb makes sense.

Denver Broncos QB Bo Nix recorded a league-leading seven game-winning drives during the 2025 regular season.
Footballguys view: Nix's 24 regular-season wins are tied for the most in NFL history in a player's first two seasons, and he posted more wins in 2025 than any quarterback has in a single season in franchise history. In 2025, the Broncos tied a franchise record for regular-season wins, earned their first division title in a decade and captured the No. 1 seed in the AFC. The late-game comebacks added to that. Nix, who finished 2025 as QB9 in fantasy points, is recovering from ankle surgery on his ankle. He expects to recover in four to six weeks.
Washington Commanders passing game coordinator Brian Johnson interviewed with the Denver Broncos for their offensive coordinator vacancy on Friday, Jan. 30.
Footballguys view: This is a bit perplexing as recent developments seemed to pave the way for quarterback coach Davis Webb to be promoted to offensive coordinator after he was in consideration for the Bills head coach job among other spots. Johnson has been the pass game coordinator for the Commanders, but was passed over for the offensive coordinator job after the team chose assistant quarterback coach David Blough over him to replace Kliff Kingsbury. Johnson hasn't officially left the Commanders staff, but this is a sign that he will whether or not he gets the job with Denver.

Denver Broncos QB Bo Nix (ankle) said he suffered a typical bone break and is expected to be sidelined for four to six weeks.
Footballguys view: Good news for the Broncos here. Nix is unlikely to miss any preparation time this offseason. The team could limit him in minicamp and OTAs, but this is a much better time than initially reported. The Broncos were Super Bowl contenders with Nix, and they'll be in the mix for a deep postseason run in 2026.
Denver Broncos wide receivers coach Keary Colbert and cornerbacks coach Addison Lynch were let go on Tuesday, Jan. 27.

Denver Broncos offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi was fired on Tuesday, Jan. 27.
Footballguys view: The Broncos' three-point loss in the AFC Championship Game marked a sudden close to an otherwise impressive season. Denver earned its first division championship in a decade, tied a franchise record for regular-season wins, and captured the No. 1 seed in the AFC. In Sunday's snow-covered battle against the New England Patriots, the Broncos came close to the ninth Super Bowl appearance in franchise history. But head coach Sean Payton is looking for more, and Lombardi's three-year run in Denver ends. QBs coach Davis Webb, who has emerged as a head coaching candidate, will be a candidate for OC if he misses out on the top job.
Denver Broncos head coach Sean Payton says it 'seems fairly optimistic' that QB Bo Nix (ankle) will be ready for training camp. Nix suffered a broken ankle that required surgery in the AFC divisional round against the Buffalo Bills.
Footballguys view: The initial phase of recovery from last week's surgery is the most challenging part of this injury. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Nix is not supposed to put any weight on his ankle for at least four weeks, and he will miss 12 weeks altogether before he can return to activity. Nix is expected to be largely recovered in time to participate in the Broncos' offseason program. Still, doctors are trying to be very intentional with what Denver's quarterback can and can't do over the next 12 weeks. We'll be watching for more.
Free-agent WR Michael Bandy (Broncos) has received a Reserve/Future contract offer from the Denver Broncos, but he is receiving interest from other teams and is considering his options, according to a source.

Denver Broncos impending free-agent RB J.K. Dobbins said he hopes to re-sign with the Broncos this offseason. He said he would have been ready to play if the Broncos advanced to Super Bowl LX.
Footballguys view: The 27-year-old is coming off a 772-yard rushing performance across 10 games, with four touchdowns. While Dobbins didn't reach 1,000 yards or finish the year, his 77.2 yards per game was the best of his career by a wide margin. As The Sporting News noted, Dobbins has dealt with injuries his entire career, but as seen this past season, when behind a great offensive line, he can be a star running back. Re-signing Dobbins won't cost much and would be a high-quality move for the Broncos and George Paton this offseason.

Indianapolis Colts WR Alec Pierce will be a free agent this offseason, and ESPN's Aaron Schatz believes the Denver Broncos will be the ones to sign him, citing Pierce's size, physicality, and ability to make plays down the field making him an ideal fit for QB Bo Nix and head coach Sean Payton.
Footballguys view: Pierce, who will be an unrestricted free agent this offseason, narrowly topped 1,000 yards for the first time as a pro with a 132-yard effort against the Texans in Week 18. He's averaged 22.3 yards per reception in 2024 and 21.3 yards per catch in 2025, leading the league both times. Pierce is a walking explosive-play threat, which makes him a very valuable player. His destination when free agency opens in March will be of great interest to fantasy managers.
Denver Broncos QB Jarrett Stidham went 17-for-31 for 133 yards, one touchdown and one interception against the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship game. Stidham also rushed for 23 yards on four carries but did lose a fumble. RB RJ Harvey rushed for 37 yards on 13 carries and also caught four passes for 22 yards on six targets. RB Jaleel McLaughlin rushed for 11 yards on four carries and caught one pass for two yards on two targets. WR Marvin Mims caught four passes for 62 yards on six targets. TE Evan Engram caught two passes for 19 yards on three targets, WR Courtland Sutton caught three passes for 17 yards and one touchdown on five targets, WR Lil'Jordan Humphrey caught one pass for five yards on three targets and WR Pat Bryant (hamstring) caught one pass for two yards on one target before leaving because of a hamstring injury. LB Alex Singleton recorded four solo tackles and 12 total tackles during the game, while DT D.J. Jones recorded two solo tackles, six total tackles and one and a half sacks.
Footballguys view: Stidham completed a 52-yard bomb to Marvin Mims on the game's opening drive and finished the drive with a touchdown pass to Courtland Sutton, but had only one good drive for the rest of the game. That drive ended with a failed fourth and one play inside the Patriots 20, and Wil Lutz missed a 54-yard field goal near the end of the first half and a 46-yard attempt to tie the game was blocked by Leonard Taylor III. Denver's offense just needed to be a little bit better, but their defense was championship quality.

Link to storyUpdating previous reports, Denver Broncos QB Bo Nix's (ankle) successful surgery last week revealed that he had limited ligament damage and no joint surface damage to his broken right ankle, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Link to storyDenver Broncos QB Bo Nix (ankle) is expected to be sidelined for 12 weeks after undergoing surgery last week to repair a broken right ankle, according to multiple sources. He is not supposed to put any weight on the ankle for at least four weeks. It is believed that Nix will have largely recovered in time to participate in the Broncos' offseason program.
Footballguys view: Ian Rapoport of NFL.com also reported that there was limited ligament damage and no joint surface damage. That was revealed during the surgery, so the Broncos got good news about their starting quarterback and his ability to get work in during the offseason. Unfortunately, their offseason started one game earlier than they were aiming for after they lost an ugly 10-7 AFC title game to the Patriots.
Denver Broncos WR Michael Bandy was elevated from the practice squad Saturday, Jan. 24, in advance of the AFC Championship Game against the New England Patriots.
Link to storyDenver Broncos RB RJ Harvey is expected to head up the backfield in the AFC Championship Game Sunday, Jan. 25, against the New England Patriots. RBs Jaleel McLaughlin and Tyler Badie are expected to be the backups, as RB J.K. Dobbins (foot) was just not yet ready to return.
