Pittsburgh Steelers TE Connor Heyward and WR Roman Wilson each had one reception in Week 2 against the Seattle Seahawks. Heyward converted his only target for a 6-yard catch, and Wilson's only grab was for seven yards on two targets.
Link to storyPittsburgh Steelers WR DK Metcalf finished with three receptions for 20 yards and a touchdown on six targets in Week 2 against the Seattle Seahawks in his first game against his former team.
Footballguys view: Aaron Rodgers gave Metcalf a chance to win the ball in the air on the short touchdown pass. That should encourage the veteran to give the big receiver more 50-50 chances. Metcalf should have his best fantasy showing of the season next week against a beleaguered Patriots passing game, but watch to see if New England #1 corner Christian Gonzalez returns after missing the first two weeks. |

Pittsburgh Steelers WR Calvin Austin III posted a 22-yard reception on four targets in Week 2 against the Seattle Seahawks.

Pittsburgh Steelers RB Kaleb Johnson ran once for just one yard in Week 2 against the Seattle Seahawks, and he was not targeted in the passing game.
Footballguys view: Johnson also did not field a kickoff, which the Seahawks recovered for a touchdown. The play sent the Steelers into a tailspin in the fourth quarter. You can drop Johnson in redraft leagues. |
Pittsburgh Steelers RB Kenneth Gainwell rushed five times for 20 yards in Week 2 against the Seattle Seahawks, while adding three receptions for 16 yards on five targets.

Pittsburgh Steelers RB Jaylen Warren ran 14 times for a team-high 48 yards in Week 2 against the Seattle Seahawks, and he added four receptions for a team-best 86 yards on his four targets, including a 65-yard catch and scamper.
Footballguys view: Warren didn't even lead the backfield in snaps in Week 1, but he was the clear lead back in Week 2, and should remain in that role going forward. Warren was the best thing about the Steelers offense in the loss and should be a big part of the game plan against the Patriots in Week 3. |
Pittsburgh Steelers QB Aaron Rodgers completed 18-of-33 passes for 203 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions in Week 2 against the Seattle Seahawks. His TD to WR DK Metcalf was the 508th of his career, tying former teammate QB Brett Favre for fourth place all-time in the NFL in passing touchdowns.
Footballguys view: Rodgers and the Arthur Smith playbook was not working against a very good Seattle defense. The Patriots allowed Tua Tagovailoa to get right in Week 2 and that's who Pittsburgh faces in Week 3. Rodgers and the Steelers passing game has a decent chance to improve next Sunday. |

Pittsburgh Steelers WR Calvin Austin caught four passes for 70 yards and one touchdown against the New York Jets in Week 1. He was targeted six times during the game.
Footballguys view: Austin is the #2 receiver and could be rosterable, if not useful in fantasy leagues with Aaron Rodgers at least for now recapturing some of his old form. Austin scored on a terrific play design from Arthur Smith than Rodgers executed perfectly. He's worth a pickup, but has a tough draw against the Seahawks secondary next week. |
Pittsburgh Steelers WR DK Metcalf caught four passes for 83 yards against the New York Jets in Week 1. He was targeted seven times during the game.
Footballguys view: Metcalf didn't have a big game, but his value is up going into Week 2 because Aaron Rodgers was better than expected in his Steelers debut. He showed off his speed on a long run after a wide receiver screen in a good sign that Arthur Smith will give him opportunities to show off his abilities on more than deep balls. |

Pittsburgh Steelers RB Kaleb Johnson rushed for negative two yards on one carry against the New York Jets in Week 1.
Link to storyPittsburgh Steelers RB Kenneth Gainwell rushed for 19 yards on seven carries against the New York Jets in Week 1. He also caught three passes for four yards during the game.
Footballguys view: Gainwell doesn't have standalone fantasy value, but his larger than expected role will limit Jaylen Warren's upside, and make Kaleb Johnson a tough hold as the third string back that barely sees the field. |

Pittsburgh Steelers RB Jaylen Warren rushed for 37 yards on 11 carries against the New York Jets in Week 1. He also caught two passes for 22 yards and one touchdown during the game.
Link to storyPittsburgh Steelers QB Aaron Rodgers went 22-for-30 for 244 yards and four touchdowns against the New York Jets in Week 1.
Footballguys view: Rodgers was crisp executing Arthur Smith's playbook, throwing touchdowns to four different players. The offensive line held up against the Jets pass rush, but they will face an equally if not more fierce Seahawks defense next week in his first game at home as a Steeler. He'll be an add in many leagues, but maybe not a Week 2 start because of the matchup. |

Pittsburgh Steelers RB Jaylen Warren will be the team's 'featured runner,' according to head coach Mike Tomlin.
Footballguys view: Tomlin says we will see rookie RB Kaleb Johnson but at what time and to what degree will depend week-to-week. That means it's Warren as the lead back and main fantasy focus in the Steelers' backfield. With the lead role, we like Warren as a flex play against the Jets in Week 1. |
Pittsburgh Steelers DT Derrick Harmon (knee) will not play in Week 1 against the New York Jets, head coach Mike Tomlin said Tuesday, Sept. 2.
Link to storyOn the Steelers' first depth chart of the season, which was released on Tuesday, rookie Kaleb Johnson is behind both Jaylen Warren and Kenneth Gainwell in the RB3 spot.
Footballguys view: Johnson, who has been working behind Gainwell all offseason long, had a relatively quiet August, with the highlight being his preseason Week 2 performance against the Buccaneers, when he tallied 11 carries for 50 yards. The Steelers hope Johnson eventually takes on the Najee Harris role and works in tandem with Warren, who isn't going anywhere after inking a two-year contract extension on Monday. In fact, head coach Mike Tomlin, asked about Warren on Tuesday, told reporters: "Certainly he'll be our featured runner. Certainly you'll see [Johnson and Gainwell], but at what time and at what degree [will depend week-to-week]." |
Pittsburgh Steelers RB Jaylen Warren will be the 'featured runner' to begin the 2025 season, according to head coach Mike Tomlin.
Footballguys view: While Tomlin acknowledged we'll see Kenneth Gainwell and Kaleb Johnson, currently listed as RB2 and RB3, respectively on the team's depth chart, the coach added, "At what time and at what degree [will depend week-to-week]." That being the case, it's worth noting that hampered by injuries, Warren finished as RB45 last year. But he was RB20 (in a timeshare with Najee Harris) in 2023. An RB2 finish would be ahead of the RB3 price we've been paying for Warren in recent days. |
Pittsburgh Steelers DE Cameron Heyward will play in Week 1, according to head coach Mike Tomlin.

Updating an earlier report, Pittsburgh Steelers RB Jaylen Warren's two-year deal includes $7 million this year with $12 million total guaranteed.
Footballguys view: The deal also includes a $5.95 million signing bonus, a source told ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. Warren gets $5.05 million in 2026 and $5.15 million in 2027 for a total of $17.25 million over three years, a source told Fowler. With Najee Harris allowed to move on as a free agent this offseason, Warren is left to lead a position group that also includes rookie third-round pick Kaleb Johnson and former Eagles running back Kenneth Gainwell. |
