Texans | Houston promotes Jawhar Jordan to active roster Tue Dec 16, 04:37 PM
Houston Texans RB Jawhar Jordan was elevated from the practice squad to the active roster on Tuesday, Dec. 16.
Footballguys view: Jordan was elevated to the active roster for Sunday's game against the Cardinals and had 15 carries for 101 yards in his NFL debut. He became only the second player in team history to rush for 100 yards or higher in their NFL debut, joining Ben Tate, who had 101 yards in his debut 14 years ago. He will join Woody Marks, who has an ankle injury, Nick Chubb, who missed Sunday's game with a rib injury, and Dare Ogunbowale in the rotation at the position.
Houston Texans RB Jawhar Jordan reverted back to the practice squad Monday, Dec. 15, after being on the active roster for the Week 15 game.

Houston Texans DT Mario Edwards Jr. (pectoral) will miss the rest of the season after suffering a ruptured pectoral muscle during the Week 15 game, according to head coach DeMeco Ryans.
Footballguys view: Edwards appeared in all 14 games that the Texans have played this season. He had 13 tackles and 1.5 sacks in those contests and is signed for the 2026 season. The Texans put defensive tackle Tim Settle on injured reserve earlier this month, so Edwards' injury leaves them with Tommy Togiai, Sheldon Rankins, and Naquan Jones on the interior of their defensive line.

Houston Texans RB Woody Marks (ankle) should be fine, according to head coach DeMeco Ryans. The team will monitor him through the week.
Footballguys view: Ryans decided to hold Marks, who left Sunday's win over the Cardinals in the second quarter, out for precautionary reasons. He also wanted to "keep rolling with those guys" -- Jawhar Jordan, who was called up from the practice squad over the weekend and ran for 101 yards, and Dare Ogunbowale. "Woody could have come back in the game," Ryans said. "For where he was, felt like Jawhar and Dare were doing a good job, so wanted to make sure Woody is good as we continue to go into the week." The Texans play the Raiders in Week 16.

Houston Texans RB Jawhar Jordan posted 15 carries for 101 yards in Week 15 against the Arizona Cardinals, and he had two receptions for 17 yards on two targets.
Footballguys view: Woody Marks left Sunday's game in the second quarter due to an ankle injury. Nick Chubb was inactive with a rib injury. The Texans elevated Jordan from the practice squad to take Chubb's place, and he became the primary early-down back for the rest of the game, while Dare Ogunbowale was the receiving back. We'll be watching for more on Marks and Chubb in advance of their Week 16 meeting with the Raiders. Jordan could be a desperation replacement if neither teammate is ready to play.

Link to storyHouston Texans RB Woody Marks (ankle) suffered an ankle injury during the Week 15 game and is considered questionable to return.
Footballguys view: Marks had gone to the medical tent earlier in the game, but returned to score a touchdown. Unfortunately, the run came after a botched snap and was officially recorded as a fumble recovery return touchdown, which did not count in every league software. Marks is becoming known for the numbers of times he has visited the medical tent this season. Even if he is able to rally and play against the Raiders next week, it will be tough to trust him. Marks' replacement Jawhar Jordan ran for over 100 yards and will be a hot waiver pickup next week.

Houston Texans RB Woody Marks (knee) practiced in full on Friday, Dec. 12, and no longer appears on the injury report.
Footballguys view: A DNP to LP to FP throughout the week is the exact trend we want to see for an injured player. Marks has taken control of this backfield over the second half of the season. Fire him up as a fringe RB2 this week against the Cardinals.
Houston Texans RB Nick Chubb (ribs) did not practice Thursday, Dec. 11.

Houston Texans RB Woody Marks (knee) returned to practice on Thursday, Dec. 11.
Footballguys view: Both Marks and Nick Chubb (ribs) are players to monitor on the injury report. Marks should be ready for Week 15, and he's in line for another large workload. He's an RB2 option for Fantasy GMs.
Houston Texans RB Woody Marks (knee) was unable to take part in practice Wednesday, Dec. 10 due to a knee ailment.
Footballguys view: Marks rushed 26 times for 68 yards in the Texans' Week 14 win over the Chiefs, plus he had eight yards and a touchdown on two receptions. Nick Chubb is not practicing on Wednesday either. Marks would be in line for a sizable workload if Chubb had to miss Week 15.
Houston Texans RB Nick Chubb (ribs) was unable to participate in practice Wednesday, Dec. 10 due to his ribs injury.
Footballguys view: Chubb is a seasoned veteran, so we're not panicked about his status yet. Woody Marks would get a huge workload against the Cardinals if Chubb can't play.

Houston Texans TE Brevin Jordan agreed to a one-year extension Monday, Dec. 8. Financial terms weren't disclosed.
Footballguys view: Currently on season-ending IR, Jordan has appeared in 36 games and had 12 starts in his four seasons with Houston. He has 53 catches on 80 targets for 532 yards and five touchdowns. For now, the Texans will continue to roll out the duo of Dalton Schultz and Cade Stover at the position for the final four weeks of the season, and for any playoff run that might ensue. Schultz has emerged as the leader in the tight end room, being their second-leading receiver on the year behind only Nico Collins.
