They have made two trades to replace up-and-coming 2025 second-round pick Jayden Higgins, who went down with an ACL injury before the season. Harrison should be used as a "sacrificial X receiver" to hopefully allow Nico Collins to move around the formation and move the Texans pass offense into the 21st century. Kendrick Bourne will replace Harrison in the Cardinals lineup, but he is only worth a look in deep PPR leagues. Harrison still isn't worth carrying in typical redraft leagues, but he does bolster Stroud's value. The Cardinals have to be happy with the return they got on yet another failed high first-round pick, but there has to be a change to break that pattern if this team is going to get out of the NFC West cellar. |

Dalton Schultz moves near the top of the weekly tight end streamer list. The Texans will have a tough matchup against a high-scoring Bengals offense, and the healthy receivers should see more than their typical workload. Via Jonathan Alexander of the Houston Chronicle, Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans told reporters in his Monday press conference that linebacker Henry To'oTo'o has a shoulder injury and "will be out for some time."

To'o appeared in all 17 games with 14 starts last season, recording 95 total tackles, nine tackles for loss, and 2.5 sacks. The Houston Texans and QB C.J. Stroud made a run at completing a contract extension before the regular season begins, but both sides agreed they now prefer to wait until after this season to work out a long-term deal, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and ESPN's Adam Schefter.
| Footballguys view: There were efforts to get a new contract done before the start of the 2026 season, but many expected this to happen. Stroud's play was inconsistent and straight-up bad at times last year. We'll see if he can play better football this season and earn an even larger contract with the Texans (or somebody else) as a free agent in 2027. Stroud is playing on his fifth-year option in 2026, and he's got a cap number of $25.9 million. |

Wide receiver Tank Dell and the Texans have worked out a revised contract for the coming season. Per Spotrac, Dell has agreed to a one-year, $1.7 million contract for 2026. The move comes with $1 million in guaranteed money and saves the Texans nearly $2 million in cap space.
| Footballguys view: We hope to see Dell play at some point this year, but we can't say when that will happen other than it won't be in the first four games. The team has said that he just needed more time, but it has almost been two years since his catastrophic leg injury, so the team is probably considering anything they get from Dell a bonus. They traded for Kayshon Boutte when Jayden Higgins went down, perhaps an indication that they knew Dell's status was precarious earlier this summer. |

Jeremy Fowler, from ESPN, reports the Houston Texans are "prepared to put C.J. Stroud in what it feels is a strong place among the 12 quarterbacks in the $50 million club."
| Footballguys view: According to the report, Stroud is prepared to play out the season without a new contract. The Texans have made an offer they feel is competitive, but the two sides have yet to reach an agreement - with the regular season less than two weeks away. Stroud has had a good training camp, but last season's struggles are something he'll need to overcome this year. Texans GM Nick Caserio placed a deadline of Week 1 to get a new contract done.
